Impact of Corporate Governance on Research & Development Investment in The Pharmaceutical Industry in Indonesia

Deciding the investment scale of a company's Research & Development is a strategic investment decision related to creating long-term value of the company and it is a very important decision because it has a certain level of risk and the cost is not small. Corporate governance of a company differs according to the ownership structure of each company, and corporate governance will affect the company's decision-making. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of corporate governance structure, namely major shareholder, institutional investor, and outside directors to investment research & development at a pharmaceutical company listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange period 2010 to 2017. The population of this study is a pharmaceutical company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The number of pharmaceutical companies listed during the period 2010 to 2017 is as many as 11 companies. By using purposive sampling, obtained a sample of 5 companies. The data analysis technique used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that major shareholders have a positive significant influence on research & development investment. Meanwhile, the institutional investor has a positively significant influence on research & development investment. And the outside directors have an insignificant negative effect on investment & development investment.

Poverty and Human Development Index: An Inter-District Study in Central Sulawesi

Central Sulawesi Province consists of 13 districts/cities with varying levels of poverty. The numbers fluctuate in the period of time of 2013 to 2020 were classified as high because they were ranked 2nd (second) compared to other provinces on the island of Sulawesi. The low quality of human capital is one of the main causes of poverty, to see the achievement of human capital investment, the education dimension is represented by the average length of schooling, the expected length of schooling, and the health dimension is represented by life expectancy, which is a measure in efforts to build the quality of human life showing an increase consistently. Increasing the quality of human capital is expected to improve the productivity of the poor. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to determine the effect of Average Length of Schooling, Expected Length of Schooling, and Life Expectancy on poverty levels in Central Sulawesi Province. This was a quantitative research. Data used was secondary data out of 13 districts/cities in Central Sulawesi Province for the period of 2013–2020. The data was analyzed using panel data analysis with a random effect regression model. The results show that the Average Length of Schooling variable has a positive effect and is proven to increase poverty, Expected Length of Schooling has a negative effect and is proven to reduce poverty, Life Expectancy has a negative effect and is not proven to reduce poverty, Life Expectancy2 has a positive effect and is not proven to increase poverty in Central Sulawesi Province for the 2013-2020 period.

The Effectiveness of Village Fund Management on Community Welfare in Kedungringin Village, Suruh District, Semarang District 2016-2019

The village is a residential area where most of the population makes a living in agriculture. Most of Indonesia's population are residents who live in rural areas. The village government can use village funds as a source of financing for village household needs in order to improve the welfare of the village community. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of village fund management on the welfare of village communities in Kedungringin Village, Suruh District, Semarang Regency. Data collection methods used are through observation and literature study, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative data analysis methods. The results of the study were the management of village funds based on indicators of goal achievement, timeliness, benefits, and results in accordance with community expectations. As well as village funds also play a role in developing the economy of the village community so that it can improve the welfare of the village community through the existence of development and community empowerment programs.

The Effects of Logo Shape, Logo Color, Typography and Service Quality Towards Brand Image on PT. Gojek Indonesia

This research aims to explain the influences of logo shape, logo color, typography and service quality towards brand image on PT. Gojek Indonesia. There are four independent variables, those are logo shape. Logo color, typography and service quality that researcher wanted to know how much those variables influence on the image of Gojek as a dependent variable. This research used a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling method. The population of the research as a media. The samples in this research were 115 respondents. This research examines the hypothesis by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of this study indicate that typography and service quality have a positive and significant effect on brand image. Meanwhile, logo shape and logo color does not have a significant effect on brand image. Service quality as a dominant variables that influence the brand image.

Peningkatan Stock Return Berbasis Capital Structure

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisi pengaruh profitabilitas, strktur aktiva, dan Good Corporate Governance terhadap struktur modal dan return saham. Populasi dalam penelitian ini perusahaan Syariah yang tergabung dalam Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) selama periode 2015-2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif dengan data sekunder. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan metode purposive sampling. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 61 perusahaan. Analisis untuk menguji pengaruh langsung dan tidak langsung dari variabel independent terhadap variabel dependen atau melalui variabel interveningnya. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi data panel dengan menggunakan program Eviews. Hasil penelitian secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa profitabilitas memiliki pengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap struktur modal, struktur aktiva mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap struktur modal, good corporate governance tidak mempunyai pengaruh terhadap struktur modal, dan profitabilitas berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap return saham dan struktur modal tidak mampu memediasi pengaruh profitabilitas dan struktur aktiva dan GCG terhadap return saham.
