Electric power fuels the entire economy its status and issues being a constant preoccupation of both governments and industries. This paper analyzes the structure and size of the energy resources in Romania in order to enlighten how the national resources are covering the needs of primary energy production. It is also studied the structure of electricity production at the national level. The analysis revealed the need to enhance energy production and the potential of renewable energy sector to contribute to this which justifies the growth of interest for such energy sources.

Nowadays, in the context of climate change, efficient energy management and increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix are helping to reduce greenhouse gases. In this research, we present the energy system and its management and the possibilities of its development through the example of an ecovillage. The basic goal of such a community is to be economically, socially, and ecologically sustainable, so the study of energy system of an ecovillage is especially justified. As the goal of this community is sustainability, potential technological and efficiency barriers to the use of renewable energy sources will also become visible. Our sample area is Visnyeszéplak ecovillage, where we examined the energy production and consumption habits and possibilities of the community with the help of interviews, literature, and map databases. By examining the spatial structure of the settlement, we examined the spatial structure of energy management. We formulated development proposals that can make the community’s energy management system more efficient.

The purpose of this article is to present the changes in the structure of production and consumption of energy from renewable energy sources in Poland and in the European Union. Renewable energy sources account for only about 16% of world energy production. This situation, however, from year to year changes. Prym in the use of energy from renewable sources leads the European Union, which has set itself an ambitious target that by 2020, 20% of the energy extracted from the green renewable energy sources.

The analytical GIS program is intended for the purposes of a multi-parameter assessment of transport and energy infrastructure availability, potential for mining, incl. energy resources, as well as availability of alternative renewable energy sources in a certain geographic location, promising from point of requirement for energy production deployment, located in remote or inaccessible regions of Russia; for the purposes of strategic planning of the development of regions, the development of new territories, incl. deposits of various resources. Practical application of GIS makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the strategic decision-making process.

In this paper, five different energy of cross price elasticity were calculated, the substitutional relation between different energy sources in China were discussed. The status of natural gas in energy market was analysed. The results show that only LNG take a role of complements to natural gas, while electricity, gasoline, diesel oil and coal have alternative relations with natural gas. Besides, electricity has the strongest ability to substitute natural gas. Conversely, if it is possible for natural gas to replace other energy sources , LNG will be the best substitute and be followed by gasoline, diesel oil,and power. And the natural gas has the weakest ability to substitute coal in China.

Abstract The development of civilisation is linked inextricably with growing demand for electricity. Thus, the still-rapid increase in the level of utilisation of natural resources, including fossil fuels, leaves it more and more urgent that conventional energy technologies and the potential of the renewable energy sources be made subject to re-evaluation. It is estimated that last 200 years have seen use made of more than 50% of the available natural resources. Equally, if economic forecasts prove accurate, for at least several more decades, oil, natural gas and coal will go on being the basic primary energy sources. The alternative solution represented by nuclear energy remains a cause of considerable public concern, while the potential for use to be made of renewable energy sources is seen to be very much dependent on local environmental conditions. For this reason, it is necessary to emphasise the impact of research that focuses on the further sharpening-up of energy efficiency, as well as actions aimed at increasing society’s awareness of the relevant issues. The history of recent centuries has shown that rapid economic and social transformation followed on from the industrial and technological revolutions, which is to say revolutions made possible by the development of power-supply technologies. While the 19th century was “the age of steam” or of coal, and the 20th century the era of oil and gas, the question now concerns the name that will at some point come to be associated with the 21st century. In this paper, the subjects of discussion are primary energy consumption and energy resources, though three international projects on the global scale are also presented, i.e. ITER, Hydrates and DESERTEC. These projects demonstrate new scientific and technical possibilities, though it is unlikely that commercialisation would prove feasible before 2050. Research should thus be focused on raising energy efficiency. The development of high-efficiency technologies that reinforce energy security is presented, with it being assumed that these new high-efficiency technologies are capable of being applied globally in the near future.

This paper built up GM(1,1) models for energy production and consumption in China. Then predicted and analyzed total amount of energy production and consumption in China as well as the structure of energy. The study showed that GM(1,1) model can simulate and predict the trend of the total amount of energy consumption and the structure well. In the future, the structure of energy consumption will be optimized. The proportion of coal and oil will decrease and the proportion of gas and renewable energy sources will increase in order to fill the gap.

To lower the production of greenhouse gases while covering energy needs, it is necessary to exploit renewable energies in the urban environment and manage energy production and consumption as well. In this work, we interested in the study of a house using renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic (PV) panels, thermal panels and wind turbines (WT). The energy consumption happens through electrical charges like the refrigerator, the heat pump, the lighting... The main objective of this work is to change the operating time of secondary loads and to propose an energy management algorithm. Firstly, we will model the consumption of electrical charges and move the operation of secondary charges to moderate the consumed energy. Finally, we suggested an algorithm to manage and optimize energy production and consumption. The results show that the displacement of secondary loads reduces over 8.5% of the energy bill and the suggested algorithm optimizes the operation of the energy production equipment while covering the energy needs of the inhabitants.

Geothermal power plants are considered important renewable energy resources for clean energy production. Flash steam type plants constitute a significant portion of worldwide geothermal power. In this study, single, double, triple, and quadruple flash steam geothermal power plants are investigated with reinjection options. The optimal operating points are determined specifically through optimal flashing pressures. The turbine power outputs, energy efficiencies, and exergy efficiencies are further studied. A rise in the flashing stages from single to double is found to increase the power outputs considerably. However, when the flashing stages are increased from double to triple and triple to quadruple, the increase in turbine power outputs is found to drop significantly. Also, both exergy efficiency and energy efficiency are found to reduce with increasing number of flash stages. The energy efficiencies are obtained as 28%, 25.5%, 24.2%, and 23.5% for single, double, triple, and quadruple plants, respectively. Furthermore, the exergy efficiencies are found to be 72.6%, 70.9%, 70.2%, and 69.8% for these plants, respectively.
