Pastoral effectiveness is an important factor in the success of pastoral activities in Catholic organizations, particularly at the parish level. Pastoral effectiveness can be influenced by transformational leadership and by lay participation. The aims of this research are (1) to examine and analyse the influence of transformational leadership and lay participation on pastoral effectiveness in Saint Antonio Parish, Motael, Dili, (2) examine the influence of transformational leadership on lay participation; and (3) to examine how lay participation mediates the relations between transformational leadership and pastoral effectiveness in this same parish. This research used questionnaires to collect data, with a total of 378 samples, and SMART-PLS 3.1 was used to analyze the data. The results of the research show that transformational leadership and lay participation indeed have a significant and positive influence on pastoral effectiveness. Transformational leadership also has significant impact on lay participation, while lay participation plays a significant role on the relationship between transformational leadership and pastoral effectiveness. This research could enrich the inferential studies on transformational leadership, lay participation and pastoral effectiveness in Catholic Church context which is still lacking. It also contributes to the improvement of pastoral effectiveness, especially within Saint Antonio Parish, Motael, Dili, and in the archdiocese of Dili in general by adopting transformational leadership and lay participation.

Previous research showed that the experience of high work pressure can lead to fatigue and even to health complaints on the long term. This makes it very important, especially for people who experience high work pressure, to take sufficient time to recover after work. Sleep quality has a positive influence on recovery. The aim of this diary study was to investigate whether sleep quality has a mediating effect on the relationship between work pressure and recovery. Seventy-six people took part in the study and answered questions about work, recovery and sleep for 14 days. Results showed that work pressure indeed had a negative effect on recovery and sleep quality. Furthermore, we found a partial mediation effect: sleep quality mediated the relationship between work pressure and recovery. These results stress the importance of recovery and sleep quality, especially for people who experience high work pressure.

This research examines the direct and indirect influence of transformational leadership to performance, with employee’s shared vision as the mediating variable. 504 respondents taken from a purposive sampling based on their occupational characteristics participated in this research. The results reveal that transformational leadership has no influence to employee performance, meanwhile transformasional leadership has positive influence to shared vision among employees, and shared vision among employees has positive influence to employee performance. This research also found that shared vision among employees has a full mediation role in the relationship of transformasional leadership and employee performance. Research has shown that transformational leaders are able, through emotional contagion mechanisms, to transmit their emotions and boost positive feelings among their followers. Although research on leadership and team processes have shown a positive relation between transformational leadership and workers' well-being, there is a lack of studies examining the “black box” of this association. The present study aimed to assess the mediation effect of team emotional intelligence (TEI) of the management team on the relationship between management's transformational behaviors and employees' responses. Data were gathered from two sources: 1,566 managers grouped into 188 teams pertaining to a total of 90 firms, and 4,564 workers from the same 90 firms. The results showed that management team TEI and the emotional state of “passion” among employees had a full mediation effect on the relationship between management teams' transformational leadership and employees' cohesion. Implications of these results are discussed.

In today’s dynamic and competitive business environment, organizations are adopting the enterprise risk management framework to address the inadequacies in risk management in entities. Operating in today’s dynamic and competitive business environment organizations are faced with ever evolving risks as they implement their strategic objectives in order to create value. This study examined the intervening effect of corporate strategy on the relationship between transformational leadership and enterprise risk management adoption. This research adopted a positivist research philosophy and cross-sectional survey design approach. The target population comprised all the Commercial State Corporations in Kenya listed in the register of State Corporations Advisory Committee (SCAC) as at January 2021. The unit of analysis was the 52 Commercial State Corporations and unit of observation was top management of each entity. The study used primary data which was collected through structured questionnaires. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 22) was used in regression modeling for prediction and causal inferences between study variables. The study findings indicated a partial mediation effect on the mediating role of corporate strategy on the relationship between transformational leadership and ERM adoption. The objective was achieved. The study recommends that the commercial state corporations should anchor the ERM adoption activities and other management programmes in the corporate strategic plan for effective execution. In addition, the corporate strategic plan should be cascaded to stakeholders to enhance ownership and design policy to ensure the implementation of the corporate strategic plan is effectively monitored. This paper analyzes the relationship between the resources restriction, the entrepreneurs' cognition and the dynamic capability, and using the market research and the structural equation model to test them, it is found that entrepreneurs' cognition of three aspects: namely, environmental alertness, enterprise internal cognition and metacognitive ,which have significant positive influence on dynamic capability, the influence of the environmental alertness on the dynamic capability is the largest among them. At the same time, the resources restriction plays a significant role of regulation for the relationship between entrepreneurs' cognition and dynamic capability.

The aim of the study was to investigate customer satisfaction’s mediation role in the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty within Ghana’s telecommunication sector. The report followed an approach to quantitative analysis and questionnaires to collect data from 105 respondents. The statistical analysis was performed using descriptive methods and inferential statistical techniques in IBM SPSS. The mediation analysis was made using Hayes' PROCESS macro model 4. Results of the analysis showed that quality of service is a substantially positive indicator of customer loyalty. It was also evident that Service Quality had a significant and positive influence on customer satisfaction. The direction between the mediator (Customer Satisfaction) and Customer Loyalty was positive but not significant. Again, it became evident that customer satisfaction partially balances the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty. It was evident that telecommunications companies' service quality cannot be the only predictor of customer loyalty, but customer satisfaction should be considered. The study recommends that telecommunications companies in Ghana should lose the script or the strict customer interaction code, review and analyze customer interactions, make multifunctional supports available and reconnect with disgruntled customers.

PurposeGreen product development is a pivotal way to achieve environmental sustainability. The purpose of this paper is to theorize and empirically test how environmentally specific leadership enhances the green product development performance from the perspective of the HRM system. In this regard, the authors investigate the mediating role of the strength of the HRM system to change with regard to the relationship between environmentally specific leadership and green product development performance. For a substantial explanation of the boundary condition, the authors investigate the moderating role of the green HRM on the relationship between environmentally specific transformational leadership and the strength of the HRM system.Design/methodology/approachBased on climate strength theory, the authors use the three-wave survey data from 362 top or middle managers in the new energy industry of China. This study uses hierarchical linear regression and bootstrapping method to analyze the mediated moderation effect.FindingsResults confirm a positive effect of environmentally specific leadership and the strength of the HRM system on green product development performance. The authors also found the mediation effect of the strength of the HRM system and the moderation effect of green HRM are all significant.Originality/valueThis study integrates the perspectives of both content-focused HRM and process-focused HRM and demonstrates why leadership and the HRM system could jointly enhance green product development performance in Asia.

Background/Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the relationship between human resources and members on the consultant's customer service orientation as a way to secure a competitive advantage in order to continuously grow and develop a consulting firm.Methods/Statistical analysis: This study surveyed the consultants of consulting firms. The total number of samples used in the study was 180. The survey items consisted of 33 questions and the Likert 5-point scale was used for the measurement. As an empirical analysis, SPSS 22.0 was used for frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and mediation effect analysis.Findings: According to the results of this study, the results were summarized as follows. First, Supervisor's friendship will affect the consultant's Job commitment. Second. Co-worker's friendship will affect the consultant's Job commitment. Third, Subordinate's friendship will affect the consultant's Job commitment. Fourth Supervisor's friendship will affect the consultant's customer orientation. Fifth, Co-worker's friendship will affect the consultant's customer orientation. Sixth, Subordinate's friendship will affect the consultant's customer orientation. In addition, there is no direct influence on customer orientation in the mediation of job commitment between friendship with supervisors, friends with co-workers, friends with subordinates, and consultants' customer orientation. Job involvement between friends, friends with subordinates, and consultants' customer orientation has been found to play a full mediating role as an indirect effect.Improvements/Applications: As a means of securing sustainable competitiveness, the relationship between the level of friendship in the workplace and the customer orientation of consultants was identified. Therefore, by measuring the level of friendships for the bosses, colleagues, and subordinates in various ways, the group that had the most positive influence was identified, and the opportunity to make practical contributions was prepared. However, in the future, it is required to consider the contract type of the members of the organization, the project status of each team, and the compensation system as a control variable.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of transformational leadership (TL) on employees’ individual performance (IP) through the mediating role of affective commitment (AC). More specifically, it aims to understand how TL relates to employees’ AC, TL relates to employees’ IP, employees’ AC relates to IP and employees’ AC mediates the relationship between TL and employees’ IP.Design/methodology/approachA total of 476 Turkish healthcare professionals participated in this study. The mediation effect of AC in the relationship between TL and employees’ IP was tested by structural equation modeling.FindingsThe results indicate that AC mediates the relationship between TL and employees’ IP. In others words, transformational leaders promote employees’ AC which, in turn, increases their IP.Practical implicationsThis study suggests that organizations should select, develop and invest in leaders who adopt a TL style because they build a climate of admiration, loyalty, respect, participation and involvement for employees which will in turn enhance their commitment and performance.Originality/valueThis study responds to calls for research studies to explore the mediating mechanism in the TL process (Judgeet al., 2006), as the mediation effects explain the conditions in which TL is related to the favorable outcomes.

AIM: This study aimed to examine the relationship between transformational leadership, organizational commitment, work stress, and turnover intentions of Nurse at Private Hospital in Indonesia. METHODS: A quantitative cross-sectional research design was adopted, consist of 97 Nurses. This study used a Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Structural Equation Modeling using PLS-SEM approach to analyze the data. RESULTS: The results showed that there is a positive influence on transformational leadership on organizational commitment. The better transformational leadership, the higher the organizational commitment of nurses. There is a negative influence on transformational leadership on work stress. The better transformational leadership, the lower the work stress of nurses. There is a negative influence on organizational commitment to turnover intentions. The higher the nurse’s organizational commitment, the lower the nurse turnover intention. There is a positive influence on work stress to turnover intentions. The higher the nurse’s work stress, the higher the the nurse turnover intention. Another outcome discovered was that indirect influence of leadership through commitment and work stress is greater than direct influence, transformational leadership directly influenced organization commitment, and work stress but was not significantly related to turnover intentions. CONCLUSION: Researcher suggests that leadership roles in building commitment and helping to manage the work stress of nurses are needed.
