Natural zeolite rocks are known to be able to act as Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM) in Portland cement based concrete. Generally SCMs are reacting with portlandite and providing binding hydration products just as Portland cement does. In this way an SCM can substitute certain amount of Portland cement in concrete and thus reduce the related energy consumption and CO2 generation. Due to a large variability of SCMs composition and properties there is not any general rule for an optimum Portland cement substitution level. In this paper, the influence of natural zeolite rock on selected mechanical, hygric and thermal properties of concrete is studied. Experimental results show that the analyzed zeolite is acting as a pozzolan but for higher amounts its application leads to an increase in concrete porosity which affects its properties in a significant way.


Natural zeolite and Flyashresidue, a sort of hydrated Alumino-Silicate is used amply as ordinary pozzolanic material in particular areas of the world. In this calculation, the suitability of a secretly quarried zeolite and mineral admixture called fly ash is used for getting better mechanical and durability property of bond. The presentation of strong quality was better with a dissimilar degree of zeolite and fly ash was examined. The substitution on zeolite and fly ash with other proportions like 10% zeolite with ordinary Portland cement (OPC), 10% zeolite and 10% fly ash, 10% zeolite and 20% fly ash, 10% zeolite and 30% fly ash for M25 grade of concrete and done valuations with mechanical properties such as compressive strength, split tensile test, water permeability test, rapid chloride permeability test. By differentiating these effects between a run of the mill concrete and dissimilar degrees of Zeolite and Flyash.By comparing these results between normal concrete with different proportions of Zeolite and Flyash.

This paper introduces results of fracture experiments on fine-grain concrete specimens prepared from CEM 42.5 R Portland cement of different origin (five Czech Republic localities: Mokrá, Hranice, Radotín, Prachovice, Čížkovice), with natural zeolite admixture. Although the specimens were produced using the same type of cement, this paper shows that even small differences in chemical and mineralogical composition (caused by different origin) can result in changes of mechanical fracture parameter values.
