In order to alleviate suffering and pain, clinical diagnosis and therapy are critical. Medical photographs play an important role in diagnosing disorders and tracking treatment outcomes. Images have visual and semantic qualities. Texture are essential parameters, whereas form and spatial connection are geometrical elements. The meaning of a picture in an abstract representation based on phrases or informative text is known as semantic characteristics. Both qualities are used in medical diagnostics to extract properties at the micro- and macro-levels, such as distinguishing cancerous cells from standard ones. Extracting characteristics may be done in a number of ways. Computational and numerical modifications are used in these techniques. Following the extraction of the characteristics, classifications based on expertise and domain norms commence. The normalcy or irregularity of a particular picture might be used to make medical judgments. In this paper, we propose using artificial intelligence and data mining approaches to extract and categorize features for a decision - making support system that includes a comprehensive database of client semantic and syntactic records and photographs.

UNSTRUCTURED Objective: The potential benefits of artificial intelligence based decision support system (AI-DSS) from a theoretical perspective are well documented and perceived by researchers but there is a lack of evidence showing its influence on routine clinical practice and how its perceived by care providers. Since the effectiveness of AI systems depends on data quality, implementation, and interpretation. The purpose of this literature review is to analyze the effectiveness of AI-DSS in clinical setting and understand its influence on clinician’s decision making outcome. Materials and Methods: This review protocol follows the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta- Analyses reporting guidelines. Literature will be identified using a multi-database search strategy developed in consultation with a librarian. The proposed screening process consists of a title and abstract scan, followed by a full-text review by two reviewers to determine the eligibility of articles. Studies outlining application of AI based decision support system in a clinical setting and its impact on clinician’s decision making, will be included. A tabular synthesis of the general study details will be provided, as well as a narrative synthesis of the extracted data, organised into themes. Studies solely reporting AI accuracy an but not implemented in a clinical setting to measure its influence on clinical decision making were excluded from further review. Results: We identified 8 eligible studies that implemented AI-DSS in a clinical setting to facilitate decisions concerning prostate cancer, post traumatic stress disorder, cardiac ailment, back pain, and others. Five (62.50%) out of 8 studies reported positive outcome of AI-DSS. Conclusion: The systematic review indicated that AI-enabled decision support systems, when implemented in a clinical setting and used by clinicians might not ensure enhanced decision making. However, there are very limited studies to confirm the claim that AI based decision support system can uplift clinicians decision making abilities.

The wide application of artificial intelligence technology in various fields has accelerated the pace of people exploring the hidden information behind large amounts of data. People hope to use data mining methods to conduct effective research on higher education management, and decision tree classification algorithm as a data analysis method in data mining technology, high-precision classification accuracy, intuitive decision results, and high generalization ability make it become a more ideal method of higher education management. Aiming at the sensitivity of data processing and decision tree classification to noisy data, this paper proposes corresponding improvements, and proposes a variable precision rough set attribute selection standard based on scale function, which considers both the weighted approximation accuracy and attribute value of the attribute. The number improves the anti-interference ability of noise data, reduces the bias in attribute selection, and improves the classification accuracy. At the same time, the suppression factor threshold, support and confidence are introduced in the tree pre-pruning process, which simplifies the tree structure. The comparative experiments on standard data sets show that the improved algorithm proposed in this paper is better than other decision tree algorithms and can effectively realize the differentiated classification of higher education management.

The healthcare industry is one of the most attractive domains to realize the actionable knowledge discovery objectives. This chapter studies recent researches on knowledge discovery and data mining applications in the healthcare industry and proposes a new classification of these applications. Studies show that knowledge discovery and data mining applications in the healthcare industry can be classified to three major classes, namely patient view, market view, and system view. Patient view includes papers that performed pure data mining on healthcare industry data. Market view includes papers that saw the patients as customers. System view includes papers that developed a decision support system. The goal of this classification is identifying research opportunities and gaps for researchers interested in this context.

Organizational Data Mining (ODM) is defined as leveraging data mining tools and technologies to enhance the decision-making process by transforming data into valuable and actionable knowledge to gain a competitive advantage (Nemati & Barko, 2001). The fundamentals of ODM can be categorized into three fields: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information Technology (IT), and Organizational Theory (OT), with OT being the core differentiator between ODM and data mining. We take a brief look at the current status of ODM research and how a sample of organizations is benefiting. Next we examine the evolution of ODM and conclude our chapter by contemplating its challenging yet opportunistic future.

Nowadays, there is an increasing number of applications where artificial intelligence has fuelled the research and development of new methods, techniques, and tools related to knowledge acquisition and data mining. The development of data mining and other related disciplines has benefited from the existence of large volumes of data proceeding from the most diverse sources and domains. KDD process and methods of data mining allows for the discovery of knowledge in data that is hidden to humans, presenting this knowledge under different ways. In this chapter, the relation of data mining with other disciplines is analyzed, an overview of data mining tasks and methods is presented, and also a possible classification of them is given. Finally, a brief discussion on issues associated to the discipline and future research directions are also given.

Knowledge discovery and data-mining techniques have the potential to provide insights into data that can improve decision making. This paper explores the use of data mining to extract patterns from data in the domain of social welfare. It discusses the application of the Integrated Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining process model (IKDDM) a social welfare programme in Jamaica. Further, it demonstrates how the knowledge acquired from the data is used to develop a knowledge driven decision support system (DSS) in the PATH CCT programme. This system was successfully tested in the domain showing over 94% accuracy in the comparative decisions produced.
