Several scholars have addressed the locational factors necessary for the best installation of industries or services; among them, one finds the costs with transportation of products and raw materials, labor-related costs, benefits deriving from the agglomeration of companies, as well as place-environment associations. Some agglomeration types stand out in this context, each one of them has its specific features, although they share the same goal. The agglomeration of companies is an increasingly frequent trend observed in production centers. Companies belonging to the same production chain remain close to each other in order to reduce costs with product transportation, storage and distribution processes. Consequently, they get to optimize their processes and increase their profits. The proximity between companies belonging to the same branch increases competitiveness between them. In addition, there is significant presence of skilled labor in these regions, a fact that favors logistics operations such as the transportation of inputs needed to enable companies’ production, and cost reduction. Thus, the aim of the present research is to create a methodology capable of identifying the variables necessary to develop a logistics cluster based on concepts such as productive economic agglomerations, by taking into consideration aspects addressed in a survey conducted with key cluster policy-development actors. Moreover, Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) was used to create an ontology to help better understanding the association among all variables necessary to structure logistics clusters.

Background: In this dynamic business environment, manufacturers are focusing primarily on delivery performance and competitive pricing to win orders. It is essential that manufacturers adopt flexible procurement systems (FPSs) in such an uncertain environment for business sustainability.Objectives: The purpose of the study is to identify the elements of FPSs and model the interrelationships between elements of FPSs and, finally, to understand how FPSs are linked with supply chain sustainability.Method: Besides providing a brief conceptual review of FPSs, the study largely illustrates the use of an innovative multi-criteria decision-making approach called total interpretive structural modelling (TISM).Results: The total interpretive structural modelling–based model evaluates the causality and illustrates elements with interpretation of relations and suggests that bottom-level elements are vital for sustainability in FPSs and avert risks. Secondly, strategic sourcing is positively influencing supplier integration. Thirdly, supplier integration positively influences supplier responsiveness. Fourthly, skills of flexible procurement workforce positively influence supplier integration. Fifthly, it is found that supplier integration positively influences flexible transportation. The sixth finding suggests that supplier integration positively influences eco-friendly packaging. The seventh finding highlights that supplier integration positively influences ISO 14001 certifications. The eighth finding explains that supplier responsiveness positively influences customer satisfaction. It is also observed that flexible transport reduces operational cost and environmental costs. The second last finding explains eco-friendly packaging and reduction in environmental cost by careful selection of packing material and chemicals. Lastly, it is found that ISO 14001/environmental certifications reduce environmental costs by greening suppliers and pressurises them to follow environmental norms. This helps in reducing wastage and developing alternate raw materials, which are eco-friendly in nature. Environmental certifications of suppliers help in improving the image of the buyer firm in the business environment and attract more customers.Conclusion: It is found that FPSs have a positive relationship with supply chain sustainability. In the end, the author highlights implications for supply chain practitioners and researchers.Keywords: Flexible Procurement; Sustainability; Supply chain network; TISM

<p>A dificuldade em suprir a demanda de proteína de origem animal de excelente valor biológico para a população humana é uma das maiores preocupações do nosso século. De acordo com a FAO, a atividade pesqueira (pesca extrativa e aquicultura), será uma das principais atividades responsáveis pela segurança alimentar do planeta, com previsões de produção de proteína de origem animal para a próxima década maior do que o setor de animais de abate (carnes bovinas, suínas e aves). A utilização de recursos pesqueiros subutilizados com potencial para explotação poderá assegurar a manutenção da oferta primária de matéria prima no mercado interno local e/ou regional, e inibir oscilação de preços, como a prática da mariscagem. Neste contexto, o presente artigo de revisão tem por objetivo evidenciar o potencial da <em>Anomalocardia brasiliana</em> para explotação e processamento contribuindo para o fortalecimento desta cadeia produtiva no segmento artesanal e diversificação de produtos no mercado brasileiro.</p><p align="center"><strong><em>The production of clams and its potential for development of new products based on fish</em></strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Abstract:</strong> The difficulty in supplying the animal protein demand of great biological value for the human population is a major concern of our century. According to the FAO, the fishery (extractive fishing and aquaculture), will be one of the main activities responsible for food safety in the world, with animal protein production forecasts for the next decade longer than the slaughter of animals sector (beef, pork and poultry). The use of fishing resources with underutilized potential for exploitation can ensure the maintenance of primary supply of raw materials on-site domestic and / or regional, and inhibit movement of prices, as the practice of shellfish. In this context, the present review aims to highlight the potential of <em>Anomalocardia brasiliana</em> to exploitation and processing contributing to the strengthening of this production chain in the craft segment and product diversification in the Brazilian market.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: center; line-height: normal;" align="center"> </p>
