This paper presents results of 6-year studies on the occurrence of arbuscular fungi and mycorrhizae in cultivated and uncultivated soils of Poland. The comparisons include the include of spore and species densi-lies. and the levels of mycorrhizal colonization. The relationship between the occurrence of arbuscular fungi and mycorrhizae and soil chemical properties was assessed based on analysis of correlation. The distribution of the fungal species found both in Poland and in the world is presented.

Healthy soil could support plant growth by optimizing the availability of nutrients. The availability of nutrients influences the health of tea plants. Nutrient deficiencies would affect the plant physiology that exhibits the plant withering. This study aimed to define the relationship between soil nutrient availability with plant nutrient uptake. This research was conducted by managing secondary data soil chemical properties, and tea plant nutrients analyzed statistically with Pearson correlation. This study only found a significant correlation between soil pH with P and Mg uptake. Correlation results between soil nutrient and plant nutrient uptake obtained a significantly negative correlation on soil pH with P and Mg nutrients with a correlation value of pH-P (r=-0.52), pH-Mg (r=-0.52). There was no correlation between other soil nutrients and plant nutrient uptake. The results of this study can be used to determine the dose of fertilization and the management recommendation of tea plants.

Understanding the spatial pattern of soil chemical properties (SCPs) together with topological factors and soil management practices is essential for land management. This study examines the spatial changes in soil chemical properties and their impact on China’s subtropical mountainous areas. In 2007 and 2017, 290 and 200 soil samples, respectively, were collected in Hefeng County, a mountainous county in central China. We used descriptive statistics and geostatistical methods, including ANOVA, semivariance, Moran’s I, and fractal dimensions, to analyze the characteristics and spatial autocorrelation changes in soil organic matter (OM), available phosphorus (AP), available potassium (AK), and pH value from 2007 to 2017. We explored the relationship between each SCP and the relationship between SCPs with topographic parameters, soil texture, and cropping systems. The results show that the mean value of soil OM, AP, AK, and pH in Hefeng increased from 2007 to 2017. The spatial variation and spatial dependency of each SCP in 2007, excluding AP and AK in 2007, were higher than in 2017. The soil in areas with high topographic relief, profile curvature, and planform curvature had less AP, AK, and pH. Soil at higher elevation had lower OM (r = −0.197, p < 0.01; r = −0.334, p < 0.01) and AP (r = −0.043, p < 0.05; r = −0.121, p < 0.05) and higher AK (r = −0.305, p < 0.01; r = 0.408, p < 0.01) in 2007 and 2017. Soil OM and AK in 2007 were significantly (p < 0.05) correlated with soil texture (p < 0.05). In contrast, oil AP and soil pH in 2007 and all SCPs in 2017 were poorly correlated with soil texture. The cropping systems played an important role in affecting all SCPs in 2007 (p < 0.01), while they only significantly affected AK in 2017 (p < 0.05). Our findings demonstrate that both topological factors, that is, the changes in cropping management and the changes in acid rain, impact soil chemical properties. The local government should place more focus on reducing soil acid amounts, soil AP content, and soil erosion by improving water conservancy facilities.

Abstract. The most important concern of the authorities in reuse of wastewater through artificial recharge of aquifers, drinking water and water used in agricultural exchange or direct use treated wastewater for health expenditures in different regions of the world, experience has resulted in effluent into account as a reliable source of water to supply the cities considered any parts of the world to supply water to cities and centers of population. In this direction the use of methods based on low quality irrigation water such as wastewater is a practical and convenient solution. The waste can be a rich source of minerals and organic be considered in order to the fertile soil. In the present study in order to assess the effects of wastewater, sewage refined Shiraz on soil chemical properties were analyzed in depth measurement. All samples from the middle of each plot at depths of 0–30 and 30–60 centimeter and also tested in a randomized complete block design with 3 replications. The results showed a decrease in acidity, salinity, phosphorus, nitrogen and heavy metals concentration in soil irrigated with waste water in the soil is irrigated with well water.

Critical land is land that has lost its function as an agro-ecosystem. The main problems faced in using critical land for agriculture are: 1) acidic soil reaction, 2) high amount of Al ions that can bind phosphorus, and 3) low organic matter content. Some treatment had been tried to improve soil chemical properties, but the result obtained is not optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to do biological improvement by utilizing indigeneous Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF).  Research on the relationship between Indigeneous Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and some chemical properties of degraded land have been carried out at the Laboratory of Soil Science and Microbiology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University ( UNAND). This study was  aimed to determine the relationship between the number and types of AMF with some chemical properties of critical land in Tanjung Alai Solok, West Sumatra, as well as to study the relationship between the number and types of AMF with some soil chemical properties using Pearson correlation analysis.  The results showed that: the number and types of AMF is closely related to pH, P, and organic C, with a pattern of positive relationships (unidirectional), while Al-dd soil showed negative correlation with the number and types of AMF.Keywords: critical land, AMF, soil chemical properties

Virginia Woolf and Being-in-the-world: A Heideggerian Study explores Woolf’s treatment of the relationship between self and world from a phenomenological-existential perspective. This study presents a timely and compelling interpretation of Virginia Woolf’s textual treatment of the relationship between self and world from the perspective of the philosophy of Martin Heidegger. Drawing on Woolf’s novels, essays, reviews, letters, diary entries, short stories, and memoirs, the book explores the political and the ontological, as the individual’s connection to the world comes to be defined by an involvement and engagement that is always already situated within a particular physical, societal, and historical context. Emma Simone argues that at the heart of what it means to be an individual making his or her way in the world, the perspectives of Woolf and Heidegger are founded upon certain shared concerns, including the sustained critique of Cartesian dualism, particularly the resultant binary oppositions of subject and object, and self and Other; the understanding that the individual is a temporal being; an emphasis upon intersubjective relations insofar as Being-in-the-world is defined by Being-with-Others; and a consistent emphasis upon average everydayness as both determinative and representative of the individual’s relationship to and with the world.

This chapter examines Merata Mita’s Mauri, the first fiction feature film in the world to be solely written and directed by an indigenous woman, as an example of “Fourth Cinema” – that is, a form of filmmaking that aims to create, produce, and transmit the stories of indigenous people, and in their own image – showing how Mita presents the coming-of-age story of a Māori girl who grows into an understanding of the spiritual dimension of the relationship of her people to the natural world, and to the ancestors who have preceded them. The discussion demonstrates how the film adopts storytelling procedures that reflect a distinctively Māori view of time and are designed to signify the presence of the mauri (or life force) in the Māori world.

This essay examines a polemic between two Baudelaire critics of the 1930s, Jean Cassou and Benjamin Fondane, which centered on the relationship of poetry to progressive politics and metaphysics. I argue that a return to Baudelaire's poetry can yield insight into what seems like an impasse in Cassou and Fondane. Baudelaire provides the possibility of realigning metaphysics and politics so that poetry has the potential to become the space in which we can begin to think the two of them together, as opposed to seeing them in unresolvable tension. Or rather, the tension that Baudelaire animates between the two allows us a new way of thinking about the role of esthetics in moments of political crisis. We can in some ways see Baudelaire as responding, avant la lettre, to two of his early twentieth-century readers who correctly perceived his work as the space that breathes a new urgency into the questions of how modern poetry relates to the world from which it springs and in which it intervenes.
