AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeksripsikan nilai- nilai karakter dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara. Subjek penelitian adalah 23 siswa kelas X A-3 SMKN 1 Bulango Utara, Kabupaten Gorontalo. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil observasi proses pembelajaran, hasil wawancara, dan deskripsi hasil studi dokumen. Selanjutnya, data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Indonesia di SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Utara belum sepenuhnya mengandung nilai-nilai berkarakter. Nilai-nilai karakter yang selalu muncul adalah jujur, bertanggung jawab, percaya diri, ingin tahu atau cinta ilmu, dan menghargai orang lain. Sementara itu, nilai-nilai karakter yang intensitas kemunculannya kurang dalam setiap pembelajaran adalah bernalar (berpikir logis, kritis, kreatif, dan inovatif), santun, dan disiplin. Hasil pembelajaran mencakup hal-hal berikut: (a) objektivitas pembicaraan, (b) kualitas isi pembicaraan, (c) sasaran atau arah pembicaraan, dan (d) gaya berbicara.Kata kunci: keterampilan berbicara, nilai karakter, bahasa Indonesia, siswa SMKMORAL VALUES IN THE LEARNING OF INDONESIAN SPEAKING SKILLSAMONG VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AbstractThis study aims to describe moral values in the learning of speaking skills. The research subjects were 23 students of Grade X A-3 SMKN 1 Bulango Utara, Gorontalo Regency. The data were the results of observations on the learning process, interviews, and description of the document study. The data were analyzed by the interactive model. The results show that the learning process of Indonesian speaking skills at SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Utara has not fully emphasized moral values. The values that always come up are honesty, responsibity, confidence, curiousity or love of science, and respect for others. Meanwhile, the values that rarely appear in learning are reasoning (logical, critical, creative, and innovative thinking), politeness, and discipline. The learning outcomes include: (a) the conversation objectivity, (b) the quality of the conversation content, (c) the goal or the direction of the conversation, and (d) the speaking style.Keywords: speaking skills, moral values, Indonesian, vocational high school students

This research aims to examine the construction of the discourse of religious and moral values within the official English textbook for Indonesian high school students and to expose the underlying ideology. The textbook analyzed is the official English textbook for junior high school grade VII, Bahasa Inggris: When English Rings the Bell. This study makes use of Fairclough’s three dimensional models, namely textual, processing, and socio-cultural analysis. In the level of textual analysis, the researcher addresses the issues of transitivity and modality. In the processing stage, the focus is on the issue of assumption. Meanwhile, the ideology investigation is done in the last level. The findings shows that the discourse of the religious and moral values are classified into four main categories: values toward one’s self (e.g being disicpline regarding the time), values toward others (e.g loving them and being attentive to their occupation and physical appearance), values toward animals (i.e. loving and being attentive to them), and values toward things around (i.e. being attentive to them). The Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) investigation reveals that the discourse of religious and moral values within this book represents some dominating ideologies, such as the western-secular way of greeting people, the outschool activites of the mid-high social class, the rich’s-style house furniture, and the notion that beauty is identical with white skin and straight hair, the capitalism-driven economics system, as well as the idea of woman emancipation by the feminist movement.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to reveal the moral values in the narrative texts of English textbooks for senior high school students published by the Ministry of Education and Culture and also the English teachers’ and students’ responses at SMK Triguna Utama, South Tangerang City, related to the topic under investigation. This research used content analysis design. The data sources were the narrative texts in the English textbooks and teachers’ and students’ responses. The data were collected through documentation, interview, and questionnaire. Data analysis procedures consisted of perusing, eliciting, coding, tabulating, interpreting, drawing conclusions and validating. The research found that the English textbooks lacked fables and gave a smaller portion to Indonesian local stories. Moreover, the narrative texts were dominated by the value of kindness, while, fairness was included least explicitly in the stories. These findings were supported by the views and preferences of the teachers and students. Lastly, the teachers and students compactly argued that vocabulary is the greatest barrier to teaching and learning narrative text, and the effectiveness of the school’s atmosphere in instilling moral values still needed further research.   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai moral dalam teks naratif buku teks bahasa Inggris untuk siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas yang diterbitkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan dan juga tanggapan guru dan siswa bahasa Inggris di SMK Triguna Utama, Kota Tangerang Selatan, terkait dengan topik yang diselidiki. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain analisis isi. Sumber datanya adalah teks naratif dalam buku teks bahasa Inggris dan tanggapan guru dan siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi, wawancara dan angket. Sedangkan, prosedur analisis data meliputi pembacaan teks secara cermat, pemilahan data, penyandian, tabulasi, interpretasi, penarikan simpulan dan validasi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa buku teks bahasa Inggris tersebut masih kekurangan fabel dan cerita lokal Indonesia. Selain itu, teks naratif didominasi oleh nilai kebaikan, sementara nilai keadilan kurang tergambarkan dalam cerita. Temuan ini didukung oleh pandangan dan preferensi para guru dan siswa. Terakhir, para guru dan siswa secara sepakat berpendapat bahwa kosa kata merupakan penghalang terbesar dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran teks naratif, dan efektivitas atmosfer sekolah dalam menanamkan nilai moral masih memerlukan penelitian lebih lanjut.   How to Cite: Setiawan, I., Fahriany. The article analyzes the essence and content of moral values of schoolchildren. In addition, their classification is given. Based on the judgments and research results of J. Halstead, T. D. Van Heest, L. Kohlberg, E. Griggs, J. Piaget, it is stated that in the process of forming value orientations it is important to diagnose the level of moral culture of students throughout learning, taking into account the dynamics. Indicators and criteria of high, medium and low level of moral culture of students are defined and analyzed. The review of effective methods of formation diagnostics of students’ moral values (the “Choice”, “Examiner”, a technique of revealing the value orientations of M. Rokych) is offered. The results of using some methods and determining the level of moral culture of high school students in Ukrainian schools are demonstrated.

This article considers the formation of moral values of school graduates, residing in a Russian megalopolis and a small town; reasons for deviation are analyzed.


The author argues that the growing importance of forming spiritual and moral values of school children makes more acute the necessity to provide more efficient teaching of the philological subjects, which have significant pedagogical potential in the above area. Various aspects of the problem of teaching philological subjects at school have been researched by many Ukrainian and foreign scholars, however, nowadays there is an urgent need to determine possibilities and prospects for the application of various types of media resources within the teaching process by philology teachers, as well as ways of training future philology teachers to form students’ media competence. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to clarify specific aspects of training future philology teachers to form high school students’ media competence. The author analyzes various interpretations of the “media competence” concept and defines it as an integrative quality of a personality that provides the ability to operate competently and responsibly with media resources and use their materials in different life situations appropriately. The article also reveals specifics of the humanities and, in particular, philological cycle subjects, and analyzes the purpose of teaching subjects related to the educational field “Languages and Literature” (given in the State Standard of Basic and Complete General Secondary Education) to high-school students. The study has shown that the essence and content of media competence are substantially consistent with the purpose and objectives of studying the above subjects by high-school students. Pedagogically efficient usage of media resources when teaching humanities subjects in high school both provides the effective formation of students’ media competence and improves their educational achievements in this educational field. The author concludes that there is a necessity to provide purposeful training of future philology teachers to form media competence of high school students. This training should not only give the future teachers the knowledge about the essence of media competence and the specifics of its development in high school students but also let them master the skills in selecting optimal tasks for competence formation.

<h4 class="text-primary">Resumen</h4><p style="text-align: justify;">La presente investigación parte de la necesidad de contar con un instrumento válido y confiable para evaluar las características de la ira. En este sentido, el objetivo en este trabajo es analizar las propiedades psicométricas del Inventario de Expresión de Ira Estado-Rasgo 2 (STAXI-2) creada por Miguel-Tobal, Casado, Cano-Vindel &amp; Spielberger (2001). Se trabajó con 469 alumnos del quinto grado del nivel secundario en distritos de Florencia de Mora y El Porvenir; las edades de los sujetos oscilaban entre los 16 y los 18 años y se distribuyeron entre hombres y mujeres. Se adaptó lingüísticamente 14 ítems mediante el criterio de expertos en psicología. La prueba presenta validez de constructo, ya que las correlaciones ítem-test obtuvieron valores significativos, aunque solo cuatro (26, 30, 33 y 36) de 49 ítems presentaron puntajes por debajo de .20.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Asimismo, la fiabilidad del inventario analizado mediante el coeficiente Alpha de Cronbach presentó un valor general de .824, alcanzando un nivel Bueno. Asimismo, se elaboraron normas percentilares para todas las escalas y subescalas, tablas percentilares por genero para la escala Rasgo de Ira y Expresión Física de ira, además se generaron puntos de corte y niveles para la escala y subescalas de Estado de Ira.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>PALABRAS CLAVE: </strong>* Ira * STAXI * Validez * Confiabilidad * Adolescentes</p><h4 class="text-primary">ABSTRACT</h4><p><strong>PSYCHOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF EXPRESSION INVENTORY STATE-TRAIT ANGER 2 IN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS</strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;">Present it investigation departs of the need to have a valid and reliable instrument to evaluate the characteristics of anger.
