Cloud computing is one of the leading technology in IT and computer science domain. Business IT infrastructures are equipping themselves with modern regime of clouds. In the presence of several opportunities, selection criteria decision becomes vital when there is no supporting information available. Global clouds also need evaluation and assessment from its users that what they think about and how new ones could make their selection as per their needs. Recommended systems were built to propose best services using customer's feedback, applying quality of service parameters, assigning scores, trust worthiness and clustering in different forms and models. These techniques did not record and use interrelationships between the services that is true impact of service utilization. In the proposed approach, service association factor calculates value of interrelations among services used by the end user. An intelligent leaning based recommendation system is developed for assisting users to select services on their respective preferences. This technique is evaluated on leading service providers and results show that learning base system performs well on all types of cloud models.

Recent computing world has seen rapid growth of the number of middle and large scale enterprises that deploy business processes sharing variety of services available over cloud environment. Due to the advantage of reduced cost and increased availability, the cloud technology has been gaining unbound popularity. However, because of existence of multiple cloud service providers on one hand and varying user requirements on the other hand, the task of appropriate service composition becomes challenging. The conception of this chapter is to consider the fact that different quality parameters related to various services might bear varied importance for different user. This chapter introduces a framework for QoS-based Cloud service selection to satisfy the end user needs. A hybrid algorithm based on genetic algorithm (GA) and Tabu Search methods has been developed, and its efficacy is analysed. Finally, this chapter includes the experimental analysis to present the performance of the algorithm.

The growing demand for cloud technology brings several cloud service providers and their diverse list of services in the market, putting a challenge for the user to select the best service from the inventory of available services. Therefore, a system that understands the user requirements and finds a suitable service according to user-customized requirements is a challenge. In this paper, we propose a new cloud service selection and recommendation system (CS-SR) for finding the optimal service by considering the user’s customized requirements. In addition, the service selection and recommendation system will consider both quantitative and qualitative quality of service (QoS) attributes in service selection. The comparison is made between proposed CS-SR with three existing approaches analytical hierarchy process (A.H.P.), efficient non-dominated sorting-sequential search (ENS-SS), and best-worst method (B.W.M.) shows that CR-SR outperforms the above approaches in two ways (i) reduce the total execution time and (ii) energy consumption to find the best service for the user. The proposed cloud service selection mechanism facilitates reduced energy consumption at cloud servers, thereby reducing the overall heat emission from a cloud data center.

Abstract –Today Security issue is the topmost problem in the cloud computing environment. It leads to serious discomfort to the Governance and end-users. Numerous security solutions and policies are available however practically ineffective in use. Most of the security solutions are centered towards cloud technology and cloud service providers only and no consideration has been given to the Network, accessing, and device securities at the end-user level. The discomfort at the end-user level was left untreated. The security of the various public, private networks, variety of devices used by end-users, accessibility, and capacity of end-users is left untreated. This leads towards the strong need for the possible modification of the security architecture for data security at all levels and secured service delivery. This leads towards the strong need for the possible adaption of modified security measures and provisions, which shall provide secured hosting and service delivery at all levels and reduce the security gap between the cloud service providers and end-users. This paper investigates the study and analyze the security architecture in the Cloud environment of Govt. of India and suggest the modifications in the security architecture as per the changing scenario and to fulfill the future needs for the secured service delivery from central up to the end-user level. AbstractThis paper deals with an analysis of Kohonen map usage possibility for real-time evaluation of end-user video quality perception. The Quality of Service framework (QoS) describes how the network impairments (network utilization or packet loss) influence the picture quality, but it does not reflect precisely on customer subjective perceived quality of received video stream. There are several objective video assessment metrics based on mathematical models trying to simulate human visual system but each of them has its own evaluation scale. This causes a serious problem for service providers to identify a critical point when intervention into the network behaviour is needed. On the other hand, subjective tests (Quality of Experience concept) are time-consuming and costly and of course, cannot be performed in real-time. Therefore, we proposed a mapping function able to predict subjective end-user quality perception based on the situation in a network, video stream features and results obtained from the objective video assessment method.

The Internet of Things (IoT) architecture has gained an increased amount of attention from academia as well as the industry sector as a significant methodology for the development of innovative applications and systems. Currently, the merging of this architecture with that of Cloud computing has been largely motivated by the need for various applications and infrastructures in IoT. In addition to this, the Cloud ascends as an eminent solution that would help solve various challenges that are faced by the IoT standard when varied physical devices. There are an excessive number of Cloud service providers the web along with many other services. Thus, it becomes critical to choose the provider who can be efficient, consistent, and suitable, and who can deliver the best Quality of Service (QoS). Thus, this chapter discusses QoS for cloud computing and IoT.

One of the most unique forms of contracting is apparent in cloud computing. Cloud computing, unlike other conventional methods, has adopted a different approach in the formation of binding contract that will be used for the governance of the cloud. This method is namely the clickwrap agreement. Click wrap agreement follows a take it or leave it basis in which the end users are provided with limited to no option in terms of having a say on the contract that binds them during the use of cloud services. The terms found in the contract are often cloud service provider friendly and will be less favourable to the end user. In this article, the authors examine the terms that are often found in the cloud computing agreement as well as study the benefit that is entailed in adopting this contracting method. This chapter has undertaken a qualitative study that comprises interviews of cloud service providers in Malaysia. Hence, this study is a novel approach that also provides insight in terms of the cloud service provider perspective regarding the click wrap agreement.

Cloud computing has become a business model and organizations like Google, Amazon, etc. are investing huge capital on it. The availability of many organizations in the cloud has posed a challenge for cloud users to choose a best cloud service. To assist the cloud users, we have proposed a MCDM-based cloud service selection framework to choose a best service provider based on QoS requirement. The cloud service selection methods based on TOPSIS suffers from rank reversal problem as it ranks optimal service provider to non-optimal on addition or removal of a service provider and deludes the cloud user. Therefore, a robust and efficient TOPSIS (RE-TOPSIS)-based novel framework has been proposed to rank the cloud service providers using QoS provided by them and cloud user's priority for each QoS. The proposed framework is robust to rank reversal problem and its effectiveness has been demonstrated through a case study performed on a real dataset. Sensitivity analysis has also been performed to show the robustness against the rank reversal phenomenon.

Abstract The number of cloud services has dramatically increased over the past few years. Consequently, finding a service with the most suitable quality of service (QoS) criteria matching the user’s requirements is becoming a challenging task. Although various decision-making methods have been proposed to help users to find their required cloud services, some uncertainties such as dynamic QoS variations hamper the users from employing such methods. Additionally, the current approaches use either static or average QoS values for cloud service selection and do not consider dynamic QoS variations. In this paper, we overcome this drawback by developing a broker-based approach for cloud service selection. In this approach, we use recently monitored QoS values to find a timeslot weighted satisfaction score that represents how well a service satisfies the user’s QoS requirements. The timeslot weighted satisfaction score is then used in Best-Worst Method, which is a multi-criteria decision-making method, to rank the available cloud services. The proposed approach is validated using Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) cloud services performance data. The results show that the proposed approach leads to the selection of more suitable cloud services and is also efficient in terms of performance compared to the existing analytic hierarchy process-based cloud service selection approaches.

With the rapid development of Web services technology, more and more Web services emerged in the network. Service consumer attached importance to the functional properties of services, also more and more emphasis on non-functional properties, namely Quality of Service. The Ultimate goal is meet consumer the demand of QoS. Therefore, service providers paid more and more attention to quality of services to meets the needs of users. This takes into account the options to meet the functional requirements and the QoS requirements, and designed a Web service selection framework. At the same time, QoS attributes can be added or deleted the number, so it is an extendible framework. The results show that the framework could select the appropriate service for users.
