How can film producers succeed in forming equity capital on the basis of the Filmfördergesetz (Film Funding Act)? The author examines this question, which is highly relevant for the film industry, taking into account the general economic conditions of film production. The previous approaches to strengthening the equity capital base, which are part of the Act, will be analysed before, in a second step, concrete solutions for a restructuring of the Filmfördergesetz will be worked out and evaluated from an economic and legal point of view. These include the introduction of a revenue corridor, the deletion of the own share and the formulation of minimum contract conditions. The work thus makes an up-to-date contribution to the discourse between producers, funding bodies and the legislator with regard to the forthcoming amendment of the Filmfördergesetz.

The relevance of the topic is conditioned by the need for scientific understanding of media analytics and a qualitative understanding of its methods as promotion tools, as well as for the introduction of the research stage of media consumption into the film production process to popularize and further promote domestic film products among the Russian audience. In the Russian film industry, this experience is especially necessary within modern economic conditions. The need to ensure the financial success of Russian film products, which are subsidized by the state, has led to the interest in finding new approaches promoting and increasing the loyalty of the cinema audience, which is especially important at a time when only 1 out of 10 domestic films pays for their film production during the distribution period.

From a historiographical point of view, the Italian diva Eleonora Duse (1858–1924) as an actress-manager offers an original case study in relation to her only film performance in Cenere ( Ashes, 1916). This is a film adapted from the eponymous novel by Grazia Deledda (Nobel Prize for Literature in 1926). In the 1910s, when Duse decided to work in the Italian film industry, she was a celebrity and her name was a guarantee of success for the Ambrosio Company in Turin. The film producers wanted to use her celebrity in order to ensure success at the box office. As an actress-manager with a long and acclaimed international career in the theatre, Duse knew this mechanism very well, but her position was contrary to their expectations. In fact, she aimed to present herself as an anti-diva, with her wrinkle-furrowed face and white hair, proposing a fascinating artistic creation based on the ‘mother roles’ that she had created for the theatre. This paper explores new elements concerning the position of Duse as an actress-manager for the Italian film industry in the 1910s. It is focused on her strategy of reiterating her stage success in playing a mother. On film, she did not want to be an instrument used for commercial purposes, and she did not want to create a common popular diva film. With Cenere, Duse's capability as an actress-manager can be seen in her creation of this non-conventional, poetic role for the silent film industry in wartime Italy.

Execution of protectionist measures by the state in the film screening field is a significant for the entire film industry as a whole, as the state of the Russian film screening affects both distribution and film production. The implementation process of the state program to provide subsidies for the cinemas modernization cinemas in small and medium-sized Russia cities has been examined. The current program results, their importance for the regional film screening and the Russian film industry have been analyzed. The special socio-economic conditions of the subsidized theaters functioning have been highlighted. The two-level system organization for further activities subsidized cinemas support is proposed and a measures set to achieve the state program goals for the long term have been offered.

The art of video film directing is all encompassing as the director deals with virtually all aspects of film production. This comes with herculean challenges that tend to mar the efforts of directors if not properly addressed. Film scholars cum critics have done a lot of work investing the challenges of the Nigerian Video Film industry with little or no effort to directly ascertain the peculiar challenges of each sector of the industry. To this effect, the paper seeks to source from the directors what these challenges have been over the decade in view and as well through the affected, proffer plausible suppositions asmeasure to ameliorate the identified challenges. In doing so, this paper adopts the view point that the director is the author of the film and thus engages the Survey research method wherein Personal interviews are employed as data collation tool and later analyzed with inferences made from the responses. Conclusively, it anchors on the directors’ views of possible ways to improve/enhance the director’s art in future productions.

The COVID-19 pandemic has really become a real shock for the whole world. The way of life has changed not only for people, but also for companies in various industries. Today, the real estate market, like many other industries, is in conditions of economic instability. The study highlights the problems faced by the construction sector in the current conditions of the coronavirus pandem-ic. One of these problems is the sustainable competitiveness of construction and its compliance with new consumer preferences. Aim. The study of the influence of engineering solutions and other fac-tors on the competitiveness of construction in modern economic conditions, the definition of key criteria. Development and description of the decision-making methodology for choosing the optimal construction enterprise from the point of view of competitiveness. Materials and methods. The methods of system analysis, optimization methods, hierarchy analysis and decision theory are ap-plied in the work. Within the framework of the proposed methodology, the author's method of identifying key competitiveness criteria has been developed. Since the problem of choosing the optimal solution from among the alternatives is based on a multi-criteria approach, the use of this method is quite appropriate. The template for the formation of the methodology was identified based on the analy-sis of existing research in this area. Results. The author summarizes and supplements the criteria and factors affecting the competitiveness of construction organizations in the study. The author's method of making a decision on determining the optimal construction enterprise from the point of view of competitiveness based on the criteria considered by the author is presented. This technique includes several stages: 1) forming a goal; 2) formation of criteria by which organizations will be evaluated; 3) calculation of criteria for each organization and bringing them to a homogeneous type of data; 4) building a tree of goals and a matrix of priorities; 5) Determining the values of priority vectors for each organization under study. Conclusion. The total influence of criteria and engineering solutions on the competitiveness of construction is determined. In this regard, the implementation of the con-struction project should be carried out taking into account the strategic goals of the organization and binding to the identified criteria. The proposed methodology is developed for Russian construc-tion companies operating in modern economic conditions.
