Chinese expatriate workers in Africa remain an under-researched and poorly understood group despite their large numbers. Based on data collected through interviews and participant observations during 2013 and 2014 among Chinese expatriate construction workers employed by a large-scale Chinese state-owned construction enterprise in Zambia, this article offers an analysis of their migration experience as it relates to the context of China’s growing economic involvement with Africa. This paper further argues that Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in Africa function as transnational social organizations to promote Chinese expatriate workers’ migration to Africa and provide them social support and care when they experienced difficulties during their sojourn. In this way, the patron–client relationship was formed between Chinese SOEs and Chinese expatriate workers, paralleling the existing employment relationship.

The artcle is dedicated to the features of the budgeted costs calculation at the construction enterprise with the use of three techniques of establishment of budgeted costs (on mechanisms, on work, on materials) which are systematized in the Technique of the use of the budget prices (costs) for the construction resources, approved by the order of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, known as the "Technique 77". The author summarizes that the cost estimate has both general elements (the rules of regulation), and depends on the object and the subject of regulation.

In recent years, the development of prefabricated building (PB) mode in China has gradually attracted the attention of stakeholders. It is of great significance to explore the adoption behavior of PB mode by Chinese construction enterprises. Using the method of combining evolutionary game theory with system dynamics and considering the multiagent interaction of the government, construction enterprises, and consumers, as well as the influence of multiple factors, this paper constructs a model of construction enterprises' adoption behavior of PB mode. The purpose is to clarify the mechanism of Chinese construction enterprises' adoption behavior of PB mode and the evolution law of market share. The research results show the following. Firstly, government subsidy plays an important role in promoting the maturity of PB market, but it plays a relatively small role in the more mature and stable market. Secondly, the higher the initial acceptance probability of the construction enterprise, the greater the peak of the PB market share and the greater the volatility, but it has no differential impact on the balance of the PB market in the later stage. Thirdly, price factors and quality factors, respectively, have an important impact on the increase of the PB market share in the early and late stages of the formation of the PB market, but the delivery waiting time factor has no significant impact on the PB market share.

The subject of the study are the components of the corporate safety culture of a construction enterprise. The analysis was conducted related to the state of occupational safety, elements of its management system at one of the construction and installation trusts typical for the oil and gas industry (Surgut Construction and Installation Trust № 1 of «Surgutneftegas» PJSC). The existing problems in the field of occupational safety at the enterprise are considered, the level of maturity of the safety culture, the reasons for the deviant behavior of employees are determined. According to the Bradley Scale using the company DuPont Sustainable Solutions methodology, the enterprise is in a transition stage from a «dependent» to an «independent level». A number of the documents was developed and presented as a component of the safety culture elements. The package of documents is prepared in the form of an information notebook containing: «An act of the refusal to perform the work in case of danger to the life and health of an employee», «Procedure for the actions of an employee in case of danger to his life and health during the performance of work», «The procedure for the actions of engineering and technical employee in case of refusal of an employee to perform the work and execution of the «Act of refusal», «The list of violations of the occupational safety requirements, in the presence of which an employee has the right to refuse to perform the work in case of danger to his life and health». The algorithm of actions proposed in the prepared documents will allow the employees to refuse to perform the work in case of disputable situations on the legal grounds if there is a danger to their life and health. The recommendations presented in the paper will allow to create prerequisites for improving the level of safety culture, enhancing the teamwork in safety issues, and, in the future, the formation of an interdependent level of safety culture.
