Material inventory management is one part of the logistics system devoted to project implementation on material procurement as per the needs plan procurement management is a very important material function, since the material inventory for a construction project involves a considerable investment cost. In general, every construction project involves complex activities, which involves the sharing of activities and operations. Material acquisition activities require good planning and control considering the large percentage of material costs to the total cost of the project. So if less effective material handling will result in loss of time, cost and quality. then this should receive high attention from contractors for the smooth and performance to be achieved in the implementation of construction projects.

Good project management in construction means efficient utilization of labor, material and equipment. Development of labor productivity have to be a first-rate and chronic challenge of those who are accountable for cost control of constructed facilities. Material handling, which includes procurement, inventory, shop fabrication and field servicing, requires special attention for cost reduction. The use of latest equipment and progressive strategies has made feasible wholesale adjustments in construction technology in current a long time. Groups which do no longer recognize the effect of diverse innovations and feature now not adapted to changing environments have justifiably been compelled out of the mainstream of construction activities. The frequent problems of construction industry, customers have an essential position to play. With the aid of its procurement methods, the purchaser impacts the manner a construction project is done, because the tactics affect the form of the project delivery system. What sort of procurement procedures are perceived rational, for one, depends at the underlying assumptions about the characteristic of procurement. A recognized guideline in Lean construction (LC) is that production must be conceived along with transformations (T), flow (F), and value generation (V). Alternatively, it is visible necessary to recognize and cope with the risk of value loss with an identical diligence as the other issues had been to date. Materials management plays an important role in project planning and control. Materials represent a major expense in construction, so minimizing procurement or purchase costs.

In this study, we present a methodology to build data-driven simulation models of manufacturing plants. We go further than other research proposals and we suggest focusing simulation model development under a 4-layer architecture (network, logic, database and visual reality). The Network layer includes system infrastructure. The Logic layer covers operations planning and control system, and material handling equipment system. The Database holds all the information needed to perform the simulation, the results used to analyze and the values that the Logic layer is using to manage the Plant. Finally, the Visual Reality displays an augmented reality system including not only the machinery and the movement but also blackboards and other Andon elements. This architecture provides numerous advantages as helps to build a simulation model that consistently considers the internal logistics, in a very flexible way.

Material handling process on assembly lines is important because poor planning and control policies lead to low utilization of workforce and resources, which will cause more inadequate part delivery (part starvation) and reduce the overall system performance. Therefore, the delivery system must be optimized such that minimum number of workforce can be achieved without sacrificing production rate. In real assembly process, for better safety and higher efficiency, dolly trains are widely used to replace traditional forklifts for part delivery, which allows drivers to deliver more than one parts per trip and raises problems: how to choose proper number of parts and the delivery order at the beginning of each trip to achieve optimal dispatching control. Effective algorithms and strategies are addressed and compared in this study to provide practical guidelines for dolly material handling system.

The growth in horticultural and some industrial development in selected areas of Northland has led to a need for more specific and careful planning and control of limited resources in a number of major catchments. The potential irrigation demands for horhculture comprise over 60% of Northland's potential water requirements. By contrast, farm water supply needs are only 11% of these needs. Because of their importance to the Northland economy, and in the legislation these needs are given a high priority in water resource management planning. Land uses, including pastoral farming, require careful operation to reduce diffuse sources of pollution.
