The main parameter, which describes superfluids and superconductors and all their main properties is the order parameter. After discovery the high temperature superconductors (HTSC) and heavy fermion superconductors (HFSC) the unconventional pairing in different superconductors is studied very intensively. The main problem here is the type of pairing: singlet or triplet, orbital moment of Cooper pair value L, symmetry of the order parameter etc. Recent experiments in Sr2RuO4 renewed interest in the problem of the symmetry of the order parameters of the HTSC. The existence of CuO2 planes – the common structural factor of HTSC – suggests we consider two-dimensional (2D) models. A 2D– model of p–pairing using a path integration technique has been developed by Brusov and Popov. A 2D model of d–pairing within the same technique has been developed by Brusov et al. All properties of 2D–superconductors (for example, of CuO2 planes of HTSC) and, in particular, the collective excitations spectrum, are determined by these functionals. We consider all superconducting states, arising in symmetry classification of p-wave and d-wave 2D–superconductors, and calculate the full collective modes spectrum for each of these states. This will help to identify the type of pairing and the symmetry of the order parameter in HTSC and HFSC.

We study a variational formulation of the Luttinger-liquid concept in two dimensions. We show that a Luttinger-liquid wavefunction with an algebraic singularity at the Fermiedge is given by a Jastrow-Gutzwiller type wavefunction, which we evaluate by variational Monte Carlo for lattices with up to 38 × 38 = 1444 sites. We therefore find that, from a variational point of view, the concept of a Luttinger liquid is well defined even in 2D. We also find that the Luttinger liquid state is energetically favoured by the projected kinetic energy in the context of the 2D t-J model. We study and find coexistence of d-wave superconductivity and Luttinger-liquid behaviour in two-dimensional projected wavefunctions. We then argue that generally, any two-dimensional d-wave superconductor should be unstable against Luttinger-liquid type correlations along the (quasi-1D) nodes of the d-wave order parameter, at temperatures small compared to the gap.

It is well known that most of the high temperature superconductors (at least hole-type) are in d-wave state. But it is still an unsolved problem whether it is a pure d-wave state or one has some kind of mixed state. Among the candidates for an admixture, there are s- and d-wave states. Existing experiments could not resolve this issue. New possibilities for experimental resolution of this problem are opened via recent observation of the collective modes in UBe 13 (heavy fermion superconductor) by microwave impedance technique experiments and in Sr 2 RuO 4 (high temperature superconductor) by ultrasound attenuation experiments. Some theoretical treatments show that the most likely state is a mixture of two d-wave states: dx2-y2 and dxy with a small admixture of former state. To create the theoretical basis for investigation of possible mixed superconducting state in unconventional superconductors by sound attenuation and microwave absorption experiments, I derive for the first time a full set of equations for collective modes spectrum in dx2-y2-state with small admixture of dxy state. These equations allow to calculate the whole collective mode spectrum in mixed dx2-y2+iεdxy state and distinguish this state from pure d-wave states (whose collective mode spectrum has been calculated earlier) by ultrasound attenuation and microwave absorption experiments.

The article provides a philosophical analysis of the tropological theory of the history of H. White. The researcher claims that history is a specific kind of literature, and the historical works is the connection of a certain set of research and narrative operations. The first type of operation answers the question of why the event happened this way and not the other. The second operation is the social description, the narrative of events, the intellectual act of organizing the actual material. According to H. White, this is where the set of ideas and preferences of the researcher begin to work, mainly of a literary and historical nature. Explanations are the main mechanism that becomes the common thread of the narrative. The are implemented through using plot (romantic, satire, comic and tragic) and trope systems – the main stylistic forms of text organization (metaphor, metonymy, synecdoche, irony). The latter decisively influenced for result of the work historians. Historiographical style follows the tropological model, the selection of which is determined by the historian’s individual language practice. When the choice is made, the imagination is ready to create a narrative. Therefore, the historical understanding, according to H. White, can only be tropological. H. White proposes a new methodology for historical research. During the discourse, adequate speech is created to analyze historical phenomena, which the philosopher defines as prefigurative tropological movement. This is how history is revealed through the art of anthropology. Thus, H. White’s tropical history theory offers modern science f meaningful and metatheoretically significant. The structure of concepts on which the classification of historiographical styles can be based and the predictive function of philosophy regarding historical knowledge can be refined.
