Gastropods is an important organism that commonly found inhabiting the rocky intertidal area. Distribution pattern of this species is influenced by various factors such as population history, microhabitat, predation and a complex interactions between oceanographic dynamics and ecological features. This study aims to compare the temporal distribution pattern of gastropods at two different rocky intertidal area. This research was conducted at the rocky intertidal area of Amban and Nuni, North Manokwari District, West Papua. Data collection was performed during the daylight and night in April and June 2012 using systematic sampling method. The results showed that both physical and chemical factors are suite for supporting gastropods life. Furthermore, these factors seem to have an impact on gastropod zoning patterns observed in the study area. The similarity index values ​​indicate that the similarity of gastropod species between the two locations is low, which means that the species of gastropods found in each location is quite different. The community structure of gastropod at the study area is stable. In addition, we found that the gastropods diversity were higher during the night than the daylight because gastropods are classified as a nocturnal animals. This study aims to determine the type and community structure of zooplankton in the Tongkaina seagrass aquatic ecosystem. Sampling was carried out at 3 location points using plankton nets. Plankton net was drawn along 50 meters from the sea towards the beach. There are 14 genera of zooplankton in the morning and 17 genera in the afternoon. The total density of zooplankton in the morning was 0.064 individual/l , and in the afternoon 0.114 individual/l. The highest density of zooplankton in the morning is Limacina and in the afternoon, Calanus. The zooplankton Diversity Index (H ') in the morning is 2.5907 and in the afternoon is 2.7321, indicating that the diversity level is less diverse. Morning uniformity (e) zooplankton index was 0.5614 and in the afternoon 0.5267, showed that the distribution pattern of zooplankton was moderate. The zooplankton dominance (C) index in the morning was 0.0783 and in the afternoon 0.0720. This shows that there is no dominant genus. Water conditions fall into the good category due to the temperature, salinity, and pH that are quite stable and are still within the limits of feasibility for zooplankton life.    Keywords: Zooplankton, Community Structure, Seagrass, Tongkaina Waters.Keywords: Zooplankton, Community Structure, Seagrass, Tongkaina Waters  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan struktur komunitas zooplankton yang ada di ekosistem perairan lamun Tongkaina. Indeks Keseragaman (e) zooplankton pada pagi hari sebesar 0.5614 dan pada sore hari 0.5267, menunjukkan bahwa pola sebaran zooplankton sedang. Indeks Dominansi (C) zooplankton pada waktu pagi hari sebesar 0.0783 dan sore hari 0.0720. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada genus yang dominan. Kondisi perairan masuk dalam kategori baik dikarenakan suhu, salinitas dan pH cukup stabil dan masih berada dalam batas kelayakan bagi kehidupan zooplankton.Kata kunci: Zooplankton, Struktur Komunitas, Lamun,  Perairan Tongkaina.

Community structure of the parasites of Anabas testudineus was analyzed collected from a fresh water body, Turag River at Diabari, Mirpur point of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Out of 50 A. testudineus fish observed, 36 (72%) were parasitized by at least one species of helminth endoparasites. Six metazoan endoparasites were recorded: two trematodes (Allocreadium minutum, Neopecoelina saharanpuriensis) and four nematodes (Ascaridida sp., Gnathostoma spinigerum, Contracaecum sp., Paragendria wallagonia). Prevalence was higher in female (81.25%) hosts than male (55.56%). Nematode was more prevalent group (70%) than trematode (62%). All parasite species were accounted as secondary species category; no central or satellite species accounted in the sample. A significant positive correlation was observed between the standard length of the host with the prevalence and abundance of all parasites in this sample fishes. Two parasites (A. minutum and Ascaridida sp.) showed typical over-dispersed distribution pattern and other four parasites (N. saharanpuriensis, G. spinigerum, Contracaecum sp. and P. wallagonia) showed random distribution pattern. Interspecies association between two species of parasite was moderately strong. The host’s sex did not affect the parasite diversity and abundance.J. Asiat. Soc. This research was conducted in the village of Sambungo, Silaut District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province in August 2020. The purpose of this study was to determine the structure of the macrozoobenthos community which includes: type, density, diversity, uniformity, dominance and distribution patterns. Sampling was done randomly at 3 stations, each station consists of 3 transects and each transect consists of 3 plots, namely in the upper middle and lower in the intertidal zone. The results of the study found 5 classes of macrozoobenthos with 9 species. The abundance values ​​obtained ranged from 3.33 - 5.11 ind/m2. The diversity index value ranges from 1.18-1.54 which is classified as moderate, while the dominance index value ranges from 0.39-0.52, namely there was no species that dominate, the uniformity index value ranges from 0.03-0.06 which is not balanced and the value of the distribution pattern ranges from 2.81 to 3.76 with the pattern of distribution in groups

Present communication reports the community structure and distribution pattern of intertidal invertebrate macrofauna at four shores of the Kathiawar peninsular coastline off the Arabian Sea (India). The selected shores have different levels of human activities. Present report tests three hypotheses; that is, (i) distribution of invertebrate macrofauna in these shores is influenced by space and time, (ii) abiotic factors have a profound influence on the distribution pattern of intertidal macrofaunal assemblages, and (iii) human activities influence the community structure of the intertidal invertebrate macrofauna at these shores. To test these hypotheses, spatiotemporal variations in different ecological indices were studied. A total of 60 species from six phyla were considered for the study. High species diversity was recorded during winter and monsoon seasons in almost all the shores studied. It was also evident that a few environmental factors had a cumulative influence on the distribution pattern of intertidal macrofauna. Significant spatial variations in the species diversity and evenness were also observed. Though the shores studied have similar coast characteristics and climatic conditions, they face different levels of human activities. Therefore, the observed variations in the intertidal faunal assemblage were possibly caused by anthropogenic stress.
