To better understand the value of current information services and to forecast the evolving information and data management needs of researchers, a study was conducted at two research-intensive universities. The methodology and planning framework applied by health science librarians at Emory University and The Ohio State University focused on identifying the need for new or retooled information services supporting health and biomedical researchers and their increasing use of digital resources. The lessons learned and outcomes described herein are informing the development and implementation of new information service models and can help forecast changing user needs across the broader library community.

This chapter examined the input and output of WikiAfLibs training, the struggles, and lessons learned. The study used spidergram design of 5Ws and 1H (who, what, where, why, when, and how). Instruments used were online questionnaire and FGD. The participants were librarians in the #WikiAfLibs Cohort 1 drawn from Anglophone countries. It was discovered that live sessions, office hours, and learning resources were mostly favored among the activities (39% and 33%, respectively). Respondents used personal data subscriptions (75%) and received the training from their homes. Some have joined Wikipedia communities in their countries and have received funds. They struggled with cost of data subscription, fear of internet disruption, and not meeting the deadline of the assignments. They agreed that Wikipedia would give librarians more visibility, enrich services, and build partnerships. The findings imply that librarians' full embrace of Wikipedia will add value to information services. The study concluded that librarians should integrate Wikipedia in information service delivery.

e14170 Background: Goblet cell carcinoid (GCC) of the appendix is a rare tumor comprising 5% of primary appendiceal tumors. GCC shares histological features of both neuroendocrine tumor (NET) and adenocarcinoma. Clinically, GCC also has an intermediate behavior between them. The management of GCC is mostly based on small retrospective series. We report the clinicopathological features, treatments, and outcomes of patients with appendiceal GCCs and NETs from a merged database between Emory University and the Ohio State University. Methods: We identified patients with appendiceal GCCs and NETs treated at these institutions over the period of 12 years from 1999 to 2011. Chart reviews for age, gender, date of diagnosis, TNM stage, chemotherapy, intraperitoneal hyperthermic perfusion (IPHP), surgery, and survival were performed. Results: See table. In the GCC patients with stage I, II, and III, 30 received surgery alone and 1 received surgery plus IPHP. 29 out of 31 (94%) patients are alive without disease recurrence. Out of 6 GCC patients with stage IV, 5 received chemotherapy, 1 received chemotherapy plus IPHP, and 2 (33%) are alive. In the NET patients with stage I,II, and III, all 29 were treated with surgery alone. 29 out of 31 patients are alive and there was no disease-related mortality. Out of 2 NET patients with stage IV, one received chemotherapy and both are alive. Conclusions: Our data confirms the excellent prognosis of appendiceal NET regardless of stage. The outcomes of surgery for patients with stage I, II, and III in both GCCs and NETs were excellent. Patients with stage IV GCCs have higher possibility of aggressive clinical courses. Chemotherapy or IPHP should be considered in the management of stage IV GCCs. [Table: see text]

Purpose: This study aims to show that selected information services (information dissemination) of village libraries can improve the prosperity of residents in the Wonosalam District Demak Regency.Methodology: the approach used in this study is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), an action of three stages (preparation, implementation, and evaluation).  PRA was carried out collaboratively by the village library, sub-district officials, and cadres of PKK (a group of women concerned about family well-being) in a frame of community service activity.Discussion: This study shows that there is potential for PKK-assisted residents to develop their talents and interests through selected information services from the village library. The PKK assisted residents and librarians carried out this activity to access and find appropriate sources of information from various media and train new entrepreneurship skills. This collaborative activity turned out to grow the residents of Wonosalam District, Demak Regency's skills and create an entrepreneurship view for their prosperity. Conclusion: the selected information service has made PKK assisted residents aware that the village library can open new information and insights and create user experiences for their lives. It gradually changes the residents' mindset and makes their families and surrounding communities able to be prosperous.

Humanitarian engineering at The Ohio State University (OSU) has enriched our delivery of engineering education and at the same time led, via collaborative engagement, to helping people and communities. Here, we describe our curricular program, extracurricular activities, domestic and international projects, meetings and coordination, and our new Humanitarian Engineering Center. Throughout, we provide “lessons learned” for all these categories, and in conclusion provide some general lessons and challenges for engineering education.

The inadequacy of bibliographic information services covering the occupational therapy literature seems beyond dispute. Beginning in late 1986, the publication Occupational Therapy Index is an attempt to cover comprehensively the professional journal literature. This article describes the origins and development of this publication. Discussion of the organization, the coverage, some of the problems encountered and the related information services is also included.
