The rivers and their watersheds are fundamental elements of socioeconomic activities. In this article, we analyze the hydrographic basin of the Acaraú River, situated in the northeast of Brazil, from its geoenvironmental aspects, based on the perspective of the geosystem. In this perspective, a geoenvironmental picture of the hydrographic basin in question is presented, as well as the environmental problems that characterize it, postulating the need to carry out this type of survey to define the basin as a fundamental planning unit. The Acaraú River basin has particular characteristics, since it is located in a poor and extremely populous semi-arid region, which results in socio-environmental stress, whose main consequence is the environmental degradation of the fluvial course. The regional authorities need to be aware of the geoenvironmental elements raised in order to reverse this framework of socio-environmental degradation of water resources and to allow territorial growth based on sustainable development.

Palavras-chave: geologia, geomorfologia, hidrogeologia, Rio Congonhas Abstract: For the diagnosis of the physical environment of the Congonhas River Hydrographic Basin (Minas GeraisState), geological, geomorphological and hydrogeological studies were realized in order to environmentalcharacterization. The region faces many problems of lack of water, with high rate of failure in the drillingof wells, due to unfavorable weather, absence and/or thin soil and fissural nature of most aquifers. With theimplanting of the Congonhas dam, there will be increased water availability in the region and environmentalproblems may arise due to human activity. Were not identified points of environmental degradation acting inthe studied basin and the information obtained provided data for the environmental zoning and sustainabledevelopment. It proposes actions for environmental education focused on awareness of local people, whocan be active in the identification and prevention of factors of degradation that provide environmentalimpacts. Keywords: geology, geomorphology, hidrogeology, Rio Congonhas

This article presents a geoenvironmental picture of the hydrographic basin of the Rio Acarau (geology, geomorphology, pedology), located in the Brazilian northern Northeast, as well as the environmental problems that characterize it. The study area is located in a poor and extremely populous semi-arid region, with large environmental degradation of the river course and its plaine. It is necessary that regional authorities transform the hydrographic basin into a fundamental socio-economic and environmental planning unit, based on the surveys and geoenvironmental characterization of the area, to reverse the socioenvironmental degradation of the natural resource and allow territiorial growth based on sustainable development.

METHODOLOGY OF PHYSICAL-ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS IN A HYDROGRAPHIC BASIN IN THE AMAZON SOUTHWESTERN: study of the Judia River basin – Acre – BrazilMETODOLOGÍA DE ANÁLISIS FÍSICO Y AMBIENTAL EN UNA CUENCA HIDROGRÁFICA DE LA AMAZONÍA SUROESTE: estudio de la cuenca del Río Judia – Acre – BrasilRESUMONeste trabalho foi aplicada a metodologia do Diagnóstico Físico Conservacionista (DFC) na bacia hidrográfica do Rio Judia, localizada em Rio Branco – Acre. Palavras-chave: Análise Ambiental; Uso da Terra; Degradação Ambiental; Geotecnologias.ABSTRACTIn this work, the methodology of physical conservationist diagnosis (DFC) was applied in the Judia River basin, located in Rio Branco - Acre. For this, the parameters were adapted to the local reality, being applied through geoprocessing techniques, in order to identify and quantify the degree of degradation of the watershed between 2006 and 2019. The results showed that the mean course obtained the highest degree of degradation, 23. The low course obtained value 22 and the auto course value 21. All three courses of the watershed had high degradation values, indicating that natural resources such as soil, forest and water are threatened by anthropic activities such as livestock, indiscriminate use of water and irregular occupations. It was concluded that the DFC methodology allowed the correct identification of the degree of degradation of the Judia River basin, pointing out the parameters that most contributed to the current environmental scenario.
