Background Rosenbergiella nectarea strain 8N4T, the type species of the genus Rosenbergiella, was isolated from Amygdalus communis (almond) floral nectar. Other strains of this species were isolated from the floral nectar of Citrus paradisi (grapefruit), Nicotiana glauca (tobacco tree) and from Asphodelus aestivus. R. nectarea strain 8N4T is a Gram-negative, oxidase-negative, facultatively anaerobic bacterium in the family Enterobacteriaceae. Results Here we describe features of this organism, together with its genome sequence and annotation. The DNA GC content is 47.38%, the assembly size is 3,294,717 bp, and the total number of genes are 3,346. The genome discloses the possible role that this species may play in the plant. The genome contains both virulence genes, like pectin lyase and hemolysin, that may harm plant cells and genes that are predicted to produce volatile compounds that may impact the visitation rates by nectar consumers, such as pollinators and nectar thieves. Conclusions The genome of R. nectarea strain 8N4T reveals a mutualistic interaction with the plant host and a possible effect on plant pollination and fitness.

Abstract Streptomyces species is one among the dominant group of bacteria in the family Actinobacteria with a rich repertoire of secondary metabolites. Secondary metabolites with antimicrobial activity and plant growth promotor have been isolated from various Streptomyces sp. Here in this investigation, we present the draft genome of a new species, Streptomyces sp. VITGV156 isolated from healthy tomato plant (Lycopersicon esculentum) which has some rare antimicrobial secondary metabolites, like coelichelin, fluostatins, vicenistatin, nystatin, sipanmycin, and informatipeptin. The genome is 8.18 Mb in size with 6,259 protein coding genes. The average GC content of the genome is 72.61 %. Preliminary analysis with antiSMASH 6.0 revealed the presence of 29 biosynthetic gene clusters for the synthesis of potential secondary metabolites. These includes 4 NRPS (non – ribosomal peptide synthetase), 7 PKS (Polyketide Synthases), 2 RiPP (Ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides) clusters. When we look into genes associated with secondary metabolites, 406 genes are present which includes 184 genes for cofactor and vitamins, 72 genes for terpenoids and polyketides, 70 genes for xenobiotics and 80 genes for other metabolites are present. Comparative genome analysis of VITGV156 with its closest neighbor Streptomyces luteus strain TRM45540 revealed ANI 91.22% and dDDH value 44.00%.

Pseudocercospora macadamiae causes husk spot in macadamia in Australia. Lack of genomic resources for this pathogen has restricted acquiring knowledge on the mechanism of disease development, spread, and its role in fruit abscission. To address this gap, we sequenced the genome of P. macadamiae. The sequence was de novo assembled into a draft genome of 40 Mb, which is comparable to closely related species in the family Mycosphaerellaceae. The draft genome comprises 212 scaffolds, of which 99 scaffolds are over 50 kb. The genome has a 49% GC content and is predicted to contain 15,430 protein-coding genes. This draft genome sequence is the first for P. macadamiae and represents a valuable resource for understanding genome evolution and plant disease resistance.

AbstractThe widespread algal and plant (Archaeplastida) plastid originated >1 billion years ago, therefore relatively little can be learned about plastid integration during the initial stages of primary endosymbiosis by studying these highly derived species. Here we focused on a unique model for endosymbiosis research, the photosynthetic amoeba Paulinella micropora KR01 (Rhizaria) that underwent a more recent independent primary endosymbiosis about 124 Mya. A total of 149 Gbp of PacBio and 19 Gbp of Illumina data were used to generate the draft assembly that comprises 7,048 contigs with N50=143,028 bp and a total length of 707 Mbp. Genome GC-content was 44% with 76% repetitive sequences. We predicted 32,358 genes that contain 73% of the complete, conserved genes in the BUSCO database. The mean intron length was 882 bp, which is significantly greater than in other Rhizaria (86∼184 bp). Symbiotic bacteria from the culture were isolated and completed genomes were generated from three species (Mesorhizobium amorphae Pch-S, Methylibium petroeiphilum Pch-M, Polaromonas sp. Pch-P) with one draft genome (Pimelobacter simplex Pch-N). Our holobiont data establish P. micropora KR01 as a model for studying plastid integration and the role of bacterial symbionts in Paulinella biology.

Abstract During a citywide microbiological screening project in Pavia (Italy) a bacterial strain isolated from the surface of an Automated Teller Machine was classified as a Klebsiella sp. by MALDI-TOF spectrometry, and shown to be susceptible to the most antimicrobial classes by phenotypic testing. After Illumina genome sequencing and subsequent assembly, a high-quality draft genome was obtained (size = 5,051,593 bp, N50 = 615,571 bp, largest contig = 1,328,029 bp, N_contig = 17, GC content = 51.58%, coverage = 141.42), absence of antimicrobial resistance genes was confirmed, but the strain resulted to be highly divergent from all Klebsiella, and more related to other Enterobacteriaceae. The higher values of 16S rRNA identity were with members of the genera Citrobacter, Salmonella, and “Superficieibacter.” An ortholog-based phylogenomic analysis indicated a sister group relationship with “Superficieibacter electus,” in a distinct clade from other members of the Enterobacteriaceae family. In order to evaluate whether the novel genome represents a new species of “Superficiebacter,” average nucleotide identity (ANI) and Hadamard analysis were performed on a dataset of 78 Enterobacteriaceae. The novel genome showed an ANI of 87.51% with S. electus, which compared on identity values between other members of the family, clearly indicates that the genome represents a new species within the genus “Superficieibacter.” We propose for the new species the name “Superficieibacter maynardsmithii.”

Here, we report the genome of strain JJU2, a cyanobacterium of the family Hapalosiphonaceae known to be resistant to high cadmium levels, assembled from a nonaxenic, unialgal culture from Marinduque, Philippines. The draft genome is 7.1 Mb long with a GC content of 40.05% and contains 5,625 protein-coding genes.

Descriptive Correlational Research Design uses a cross sectional approach, Sampling Stratified Simple Random Sampling technique with heterogeneous characteristics, from the population has the same right to be selected as a sample lottery technique Retrieving data using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Test Chi-square statistics, with a significance level of 5% the number of samples in this study 70 samples on the Family Caregiver from 213 populations. Results of the Study Of 70 respondents found the role of Family Caregiver was not good with poor quality of life 33 (47.1%) , while the role of the Family Caregiver is not good with the quality of life of a good elderly 3 (4.3%). For the distribution of the role of Family Caregiver is not good with the quality of life of the poor family as many as 6 respondents (8.6%) while for the distribution of the Role of Family Caregiver is not good with the quality of life of good elderly as many as 23 respondents (32.9%). Finally, the distribution of the Role of Family Caregiver with good quality of life for the poor is obtained by 2 respondents (2, 9%), while the distribution of the Role of Family Caregiver with good quality of life for the elderly is obtained by 3 respondents (4.3%). 0.001 (ρ <0.05) means that there is a relationship between family support and the compliance of the elderly in the participation of the elderly posyandu.
