The amphiphilic derivatives of silica associated with oligomeric medium have been studied as modifiers of the catalyst for the octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane polymerization of anionic nature. The effect of the modifiers structure on the polymerization time of the obtained polydimethylsiloxanes was investigated. It was found that the modifier, like the initial polyoxyethylene glycol, exhibits the properties of promoters for the catalytic polymerization of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane by the anionic mechanism. To establish the role of amphiphilic silica derivatives in the occurrence of intermolecular interactions in polydimethylsiloxanes that were obtained with them, the regularities of changes in the reduced viscosity of the obtained modified polydimethylsiloxanes were analyzed. It has been established that the reduced viscosity of polydimethylsiloxanes increases with an increase of the modifier amphiphilicity. This is due to the occurrence of intermolecular interactions because the specific interaction of amphiphilic silica derivatives with polydimethylsiloxane macromolecules. When using amphiphilic derivatives of silica as a modifier of the resulting polydimethylsiloxane to a content of 6 wt% hydrophobic fragment in their composition, modification of polydimethylsiloxanes does not affect their rheological characteristics. This is due to the presence of polyoxyethylene branches in the composition of the modifier, which creates a cavity for the trapping of K+ ions, as in the crown ether, they perform only a catalytic function, which leads to an increase in the rate of the process. However, starting from 10 % wt the content of the hydrophobic component in the composition of the modifier, the reduced viscosity of the obtained polydimethylsiloxane increases due to the occurrence of intermolecular interactions between the modifier and the obtained polydimethylsiloxane. It was noted that polydimethylsiloxane obtained using only polyoxyethylene glycol as a modifier exhibits viscosity characteristics lower than polydimethylsiloxane obtained by the anionic mechanism without using any modifiers.

This article reveals the possibility of using legume butter to obtain a new combined product of increased quality. The technology of model compositions of finishing semi-finished products, in particular, confectionery legume butter with DDW, has been developed. The results of a study on optimizing the recipe composition of finishing semi-finished products made it possible to develop this technology of multifunctional confectionery butter with the desired (specified) organoleptic and structural and mechanical properties. The analysis of the formation of the structure of legume butter of oppositely directed processes in the enzymatic destruction of the residual cellular structure and spontaneous aggregation of protein particles into the spatial structure due to gradual dehydration of the system was carried out. It is noted that sugar plays the role of a plasticizer, reducing the rate of gelatinization of starch while reducing the viscosity peak. The use of dry demineralized whey (DDW) in legume butter technologies contributes to the formation of a stronger structure of the protein component and the development of a spatial structure, which gives it certain structural and mechanical properties. Three main directions of technological use of confectionery butter were established, which are based on structural characteristics of consistency: 1 – confectionery butter used to cover confectionery products and as a layer for them (CP – Confectionery Products), where the main indicator of consistency is extensibility; 2 – confectionery butter used for making flowers, as a decorative element for flour confectionery (SC – Sugar Confectionery)), where the main indicator of consistency is an equivalent ratio of extensibility and forming ability; 3 – confectionery butter used for modeling shaped products, as a decorative element for flour confectionery products, where the main indicator of consistency is the forming ability. The results of studies of the rheological characteristics of legume butter with dry demineralized whey (DDW) and coconut oil are presented. It was ascertained that DDW and coconut oil lead to changes in the state of legume butter, changing the values of rheological characteristics.  The rational content of DDW and coconut oil in the composition of legume butter while ensuring high functional and technological properties was proved. The optimal ratios of components of the developed legume butter were mathematically grounded.

The focus of this review is the role of gelatinous materials for oral, transdermal and peritoneal insulin platforms as alternatives to the ubiquitous subcutaneous depot approach. Hydrogels that form hydrated, cohesive materials and the topologically complex micellar types can add ligand interaction, bond vulnerability and rheological characteristics to develop reliable programmed release, including closed loop (automated basal and bolus) activity in non-oral routes. In addition, the potential protection of the protein and likely increased paracellular uptake mean that orally active insulin is feasible. While unlikely to be suitable for closed loop delivery, the driver for gut absorption is not only to increase the convenience and decrease dosage trauma, but to target the mesentery-portal vasculature rather than peripheral tissue, thus improving hepatic glycogen equilibrium and reducing the obesogenic effect and hypoglycaemic episodes.

The main objective of this work was to explore the improved water-dispersibility obtained in natural graphite after its surface treatment. The superior flowability of the aqueous suspension of an alumina-rich representative castable matrix incorporating that surface-modified graphite without prior sonication has been observed. The typical role of alumina-based thin coating on graphite has also been addressed.

AbstractWhitehouse adapts insights from evolutionary anthropology to interpret extreme self-sacrifice through the concept of identity fusion. The model neglects the role of normative systems in shaping behaviors, especially in relation to violent extremism. In peaceful groups, increasing fusion will actually decrease extremism. Groups collectively appraise threats and opportunities, actively debate action options, and rarely choose violence toward self or others.
