This study analyzed texts on international entrepreneurship published in the Exame magazine from the perspective of Leite and Moraes' framework (2014). We used the technique of content analysis in 78 texts. The categories were a tendency to adapt; relationship networks; international opportunities; ability to innovate; attitude towards risk; development of competitive resources. All the model categories were approached in the analyzed articles, indicating that the dimensions proposed are part of the international entrepreneurship phenomenon and that the business professionals who read the magazine are being informed about this content. From the managerial and social aspects, this work showed that the Exame Magazine has informed about global business to business professionals, through the cases in their reports. It demonstrates that it can be an important means of the initial information for them, since, from those experiences, it presents the complexity and main characteristics of international entrepreneurship found in the scientific literature.

The 21st century global business environment is more diverse and interconnected than ever before. As organizations continue to expand their global reach, business professionals often find themselves having to navigate challenging cultural and religious terrain, which they may not be prepared for. While it is impossible for someone to learn the intricacies of all cultures and religions throughout the world, one can seek to learn about some of the more prominent cultures and religions of the world – particularly those they have a high likelihood of engaging with at some point in his or her business career. This paper examines Buddhism, a prevalent religion throughout many parts of the world, and discusses how its culture and beliefs are manifested through Buddhist business practices. Particular focus is placed on business in Thailand, the country with the highest percentage of Buddhists. The purpose of this paper is to provide business professionals with a basic understanding of the history of Buddhism, an overview of the major beliefs of Buddhists, and to present information that will assist business professionals in successfully navigating intercultural affairs when doing business with Buddhists in Thailand or around the world.

Summary On the basis of a wide range of historical sources, including published scientific literature and both public and private archives (Institut Mérieux, WHO and IMTSSA), this article examines the history of the Brazilian vaccination campaign against cerebrospinal meningitis between 1974 and 1975. It explores not only certain aspects of vaccine production but also the wider social aspects of the ongoing project. Thus, it shows how the different actors were mobilised and their work coordinated in order to produce and vaccinate a whole country or more specifically, 90 million Brazilians in less than a year. This episode not only adds to the scholarship on the politics of vaccination but also attests to the complex reality of the production and use of a vaccine in the context of a public health emergency.

Businesses that develop international trade must successfully network with transnational businesses, which in turn connects them with foreign governmental agencies, and global business professionals. Thus, studies of the connectivity between leaders and successful international businesses must continue in order to examine trends in ethics, attitudes and behaviors of the organizations. Likewise, organizational leaders who aspire to gain international success must be strategic in their approach, and mindful of their own ethics, attitudes and behaviors. Societal change, access to information, and international commercial engagement have enabled regional peoples who were formerly economically disadvantaged to have access to income; while such engagement has also shifted income from those who historically were in regions that were economically advantaged. The sheer volume of corporate entities engaged at the international level create incomprehensible pressure on key performance indicators. This chapter presents a study of a handful of respected global leaders and their attitude and behaviors. Be documenting the collection of cognitive and metacognitive schemas, a complex construct of global citizen leader was established.
