Abstract: The home industry, especially in the culinary sector, has grown in recent years. Many business actors produce the same products as other business actors, so competition often occurs. One of them is the Usaha Rakik Julidar which since 25 years ago made and sold rakik. There are so many types of rakik that there are minimarkets with different business actors. This makes the rakik not sold out at the convenience store and has an effect on the amount of production. This research was conducted to assist the Usaha Rakik Julidar in predicting the amount of production using Fuzzy Tsukamoto inference method. This research creates a web-based application to help predict the amount of production by looking at incoming demand and the number of workers available. From the prediction results with Fuzzy Tsukamoto, if the demand is 125 packs and the number of workers is 35 people, then the total production to be done is 140 packs. By obtaining a clear amount of production, this application really helps Usaha Rakik Julidar in maximizing production.            Keywords: fuzzy tsukamoto; prediction; production; rakik  Abstrak: Industri rumah tangga khususnya di sektor kuliner banyak tumbuh dalam beberapa tahun terakhir.

A trip generation manual and database are important for transportation planners and engineers to forecast new trip generation for any new development. Nowadays, many petrol stations have fast-food restaurant outlets. However, this land use category has yet to be included in the Malaysian Trip Generation Manual. Therefore, this study attempted to develop a new trip generation model for the new category of “petrol station with convenience store and fast-food restaurant”. Significant factors influencing the trip generation were also determined. Manual vehicle counts at the selected sites were conducted for 3 h during morning, afternoon and evening peak hours. Regression analysis was used in this study to develop the model. A simple trip generation model based on the independent variable number of restaurant seats showed a greater value for the coefficient of determination, R2, compared with the independent variables gross floor area in thousand square feet and number of pumps. The multivariable trip generation model using three independent variables generated the highest R2 among all of the models but was still below a satisfactory level. Further study is needed to improve the model for this new land use category. We must ensure more accuracy in trip generation estimation for future planning and development.

This study identifies the main factors influencing turnover among convenience store employees from a managerial perspective and infers the changes necessary to reduce such high turnover rates. Employing the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) methodology, it investigates the degree of mutual influence between evaluation indicators and constructs a network relation map for evaluation dimensions and criteria. This study also uses the DEMATEL-based analytic network process method to compute the influential weights of each dimension and criteria. According to the empirical results of the causality model, convenience store employees must first improve the relatedness dimension, and managers must first improve the existence dimension. These findings can help convenience store managers address talent retention and turnover problems, develop effective strategies to lower the high turnover rates at convenience stores, and offer solutions to new industry entrants to avoid potential problems that might lead to early exit.

90% of retail sales occur in physical stores. In these physical stores 40% of shoppers leave the store based on the wait time. Autonomous stores can remove customer waiting time by providing a receipt without the need for scanning the items. Prior approaches use computer vision only, combine computer vision with weight sensors, or combine computer vision with sensors and human product recognition. These approaches, in general, suffer from low accuracy, up to hour long delays for receipt generation, or do not scale to store level deployments due to computation requirements and real-world multiple shopper scenarios. We present ISACS, which combines a physical store model (e.g. customers, shelves, and item interactions), multi-human 3D pose estimation, and live inventory monitoring to provide an accurate matching of multiple people to multiple products. ISACS utilizes only shelf weight sensors and does not require visual inventory monitoring which drastically reduces the computational requirements and thus is scalable to a store-level deployment. In addition, ISACS generates an instant receipt by not requiring human intervention during receipt generation. To fully evaluate the ISACS, we deployed and evaluated our approach in an operating convenience store covering 800 square feet with 1653 distinct products, and more than 20,000 items. Over the course of 13 months of operation, ISACS achieved a receipt daily accuracy of up to 96.4%. Which translates to a 3.5x reduction in error compared to self-checkout stations.

As the Artificial Intelligence Internet of Things (AIoT)-based unmanned convenience stores stand out in an increasingly challenging market, the consumer experience is more important than ever (CustomerThink, 2018). By employing new technologies, 7-Eleven, a leading chain convenience store in Taiwan, launched X-Store in 2018. While AIoT-based unmanned technology can help solve the problem of manpower shortages in the future, a question arises: will people accept this new technology for shopping? In view of this and based on the technology acceptance model (TAM), this study adds perceived risk as another variable to explore the impact of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and attitudes toward using unmanned technology etc. factors on the purchase intentions of consumers in unattended convenience stores. The study further employs SPSS software for reliability and validity analyses, descriptive statistics, multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA), and structural equation modeling (SEM) in order to explore the causal relationship among the variables herein. The main empirical findings show that consumers’ perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness positively affect consumers’ attitudes toward making purchases in X-Store, and via the moderating effect, perceived usefulness and attitudes toward X-Store consumption impact consumers’ behavioral intention of purchasing products in X-Store. In addition, perceived risk has a significant moderating effect on attitudes toward using X-Store and behavioral intentions. The empirical results also reveal that male consumers have significantly greater perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitudes toward using, and behavioral intentions in comparison with female consumers. Finally, this study presents conclusions and recommendations based on the research results as reference for unattended convenience store operators and follow-up researchers.
