Abstract A new integrated growth strategy of an oil & gas company is focusing on maximizing the value of reserves and production in order to meet the value proposition of the highest possible return to the company. The strategy is built on the strategic foundation of the company of People, Performance, Profitability and Efficiency. From a business performance perspective, the strategy will bear fruit through increased production capacity, improved operational and cost efficiencies, re-energizing mature fields and uncovering new resources whilst maintaining safety and asset integrity. The objective of this global level exercise aims to assess and evaluate various Digital Oilfield (DOF) practices and initiatives against industry best practices, to perform a landscape assessment of the upstream assets, to review the asset digital gap, to develop a strategic framework and roadmap ensuring that the company strategic pillars are supported across all relevant aspects, by closing the digital gap between current and future states. The assessment scope covers the following domains: Reservoir management Production optimisation Operation management & integrity Engineering & projects Drilling Efficiency Logistics & Planning The landscape assessment and gap analysis consist of several stages that starts from documenting the information received from the assets capturing their current business practices and processes, analyzing the "as-is" condition, designing the future state, assessing the impact to the specific assets, define the benefits and value and creating a 5-year business roadmap. Aligned with the company DOF strategy, understanding the asset digital gap and enhancing the asset digital maturity will improve: HSE and asset integrity by reducing hazard exposure, optimizing energy usage and improving wells and facilities integrity Collaboration and faster analysis leading to timely decision making Integrated operations by optimized drilling planning, operations, optimized production forecasting and integrated planning Optimum Reservoir Management through enhanced reservoir surveillance and recovery

Several studies have proven that soundscape in blue space is conducive to human health and well-being, but few studies have explored which blue space characteristics would contribute to a better soundscape and visiting experience. Therefore, an on-site questionnaire investigation was conducted at two artificial lakes in Xi’an, China. The eight Perceived Sensory Dimensions (PSDs) as a landscape assessment tool were applied to identify the characteristics of artificial lake space in urban parks. The results showed that (1) In artificial lake space, overall environment and soundscape reached a very satisfactory level in general, while the respondents’ perceived level of overall restorativeness and soundscape restorativeness as just medium, which indicated that the quality of artificial lake space needs to be improved. (2) According to people’s perceptions, artificial lake spaces had the most obvious characteristics of prospect, social and space; serene and nature were medium; refuge, rich in species, and culture were the least. (3) The eight PSDs of artificial lake space, except for social, were positively correlated with soundscape satisfaction, overall satisfaction, soundscape restorativeness, and overall restorativeness. Moreover, among them, serene was the most significant characteristic in artificial lake space. These findings could be instructive to the design of urban parks with artificial lakes for improving users’ visiting satisfaction and restorativeness.

Abstract This research paper covers the way in which landscape delimitation is carried out in a historic urban area context. Landscape delimitation, in this case, explores the relationship between landscape considerations in the urban and heritage planning system in Algeria. The characterisation of the historic urban landscape is challenged by various types of values. The landscape assessment of the central urban historic area of Algiers was focused on its beauty configuration using the AHP multi-criteria method, supported by values obtained through GIS. Various delimitation alternatives of the historical urban landscape are assessed. Distinctive landscapes emerge, moving away from the original historic urban landscape, which is strictly related to the context of the casbah. Spatial landscape delimitation is the means by which the connecting values of the landscape and their interconnections are managed by monitoring problems of fragmentation and ensuring their interaction at the different boundaries. Urban planning must necessarily incorporate landscapes boundaries into the decision-making processes for the conservation of value connections and managing its beauty configuration.
