Abstract A significant fraction of observed galaxies in the Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) will overlap at least one other galaxy along the same line of sight, in a so-called “blend.” The current standard method of assessing blend likelihood in LSST images relies on counting up the number of intensity peaks in the smoothed image of a blend candidate, but the reliability of this procedure has not yet been comprehensively studied. Here we construct a realistic distribution of blended and unblended galaxies through high-fidelity simulations of LSST-like images, and from this we examine the blend classification accuracy of the standard peak-finding method. Furthermore, we develop a novel Gaussian process blend classifier model, and show that this classifier is competitive with both the peak finding method as well as with a convolutional neural network model. Finally, whereas the peak-finding method does not naturally assign probabilities to its classification estimates, the Gaussian process model does, and we show that the Gaussian process classification probabilities are generally reliable.

Abstract In this current research, the combination of gas transportation system in line with analytical process was applied to conduct an assessment on the risk management of gas transferring pipe lines. By this process, classification and qualification of the numerous types of transportation risks would be accessible. Index and transportation index indicate risk probability and risk severity, respectively. In this regard, total risk is calculated based on the multiplication of all risk probability using geographical information systems (GIS) classified risks that have been throughout the pipeline route using attributive information. This information also gave database alternative monitoring of gas transportation.

Abstract This paper represents an analysis of the wheeled drilling rig’s drilling process. Thanks to data from the onboard measurement unit of the machine, the characteristics of the drilling process regarding state of the drill bit are identified and calculated. The aim of the work is to provide a comparison between different drill qualities and process classification using Threshold-based segmentation with feed pressure levels and duration of single hole drilling. Second methodology is hierarchical clustering to create cluster analysis. Thanks to these approaches, it is possible to detect the time when the drill bit should be changed. The obtained results state that the average drill time for a new drill bit is shorter approximately by 50% than for the worn-out bit in terms of average drilling duration. Moreover, these changes are visible in the subsystem pressure level of the machine under specific drilling regimes.

In view of the complicated translation cognitive process, the study investigated and compared students’ translation process of Chinese Classics through translation thinking path schema. Seventy-six participants learning translation courses based on parallel level in two classes of one Chinese university, some of them trained for four months intentionally, were involved into some translation experiments with selected ancient Chinese classic poems. By the form of discussions, cooperation, or individual written translation, data were gathered from manuscripts, answer sheets, video recordings, think-aloud questionnaires, reflection papers, and interviews, which were integrated and categorized into the process classification evaluation tables in qualitative and quantitative analysis for the empirical study. Through some visible comparing and contrasted data elucidation, results indicated the obvious advantages of making use of the thinking path schema in Chinese Classics translation among trained students, who have presented more diversified translation thinking courses and superior evaluation scores in general. What’s more, author could be regarded as an element considered into the angle of translator, but not an independent angle as other non-Chinese-classic-text translation process, amending the former thinking path schema. Furthermore, the conclusions and amendments after translation experiments could be considered into the dynamic translation process for Chinese classics.

Industry 4.0 implies sustainable production by providing green products created through environmentally responsible processes. This paper aims to analyze the two main business processes responsible for energy innovation in a telecommunications company: “develop property strategy and long-term vision” and “evaluate environmental impact of products, services, and operations”. The processes will be introduced using an initial set of key-performance indicators (KPIs) and American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) Process Classification Framework activities. Through value stream analysis, the non-value-added activities will be eliminated. Ultimately, to provide an overview for the stakeholders, a new set of KPIs will be proposed and the processes will be modeled using Event-Driven Process Chain (EPC) and Suppliers-Inputs-Process-Outputs-Customers (SIPOC) methods.
