Formation of epoxy composite material with microfilling agent Al2O3 was investigated. Physical and chemical aspects of formation of external surface layers around disperse filler particles during structure formation of epoxy composites was proposed.

Impact toughness of epoxy composite materials reinforced with Al2O3 microparticles of various concentrations were investigated. It is shown that the external (outer) surface layers that form around disperse filler particles is one of the factor responsible their mechanical properties.

A method was developed for calculating the optimum fractional composition of the initial disperse filler of a polymer composite material based on three-dimensionally crosslinked (cured) elastomer. As the optimisation criteria, an examination was made of the coefficient of dynamic viscosity of the polymer suspension and the initial viscoelasticity modulus of cured low-molecular-weight rubbers with terminal functional groups, filled with polyfractional silicon dioxide. The influence of the packing density of the filler particles on the energy of mechanical failure was investigated. A composite material is proposed for use as a cold-resistant waterproofing coating for asphalt road surfaces, making it possible to increase their service life by many factors.
