Digitization is in the process of changing society on several levels. In connection with work, this development causes great uncertainty, as digitalization offers possibilities that could replace human labor with machine labor. INCLUDE sees digitization as an opportunity and aims to identify measures based on digital technologies to include workers with different needs in the labor market. In this publication, the project contents as well as project-related and technical reflections are offered in order to cover the topic in an application-oriented way.

This chapter identifies a problem in higher education affecting all levels of participants from student to trustee. It is a condition where teachers pretend they are teaching, and students pretend they are learning. Brazilian anthropologist Darcy Ribeiro observed education in Brazil, identifying one of its maladies in coining the expression “O Pacto da Mediocridade” — the Mediocrity Pact. Cohen and March analyzed universities characterizing them as organized anarchies. The chapter conceptualizes the term and provides examples of the pact in action in the COVID-19 pandemic context. The authors identified problems challenging higher education management and suggested strategies to overcome the pact. Finally, they emphasize the higher education benefits of citizenship, better appreciation of culture and arts, and learning to live peacefully in a democratic and changing society.

In today’s rapidly changing society, people are under immense pressure. Mental illnesses have a growing incidence. In this paper, we are validating the correlation between thoughts in pre-sleep cognitive state and the succeeding day. We studied our thesis on nine individuals over a period of 3 months, and a substantial relationship between cognitive presleep and post-sleep thoughts was observed. We can conclude from our research that keeping positive presleep thoughts have a strong impact on efficiency and mindset for the succeeding day. Advances in studies on pre-sleep and post-sleep thoughts can therefore bring light on how this cognition impacts our waking life, which can further motivate the creation of innovative techniques for reducing stress and anxiety during sleep and boosting healthy sleep cognition.
