Capacitor tester Agilent GPIB interface provides only and can not be directly related to PLC data transmission problems, the paper-based automatic test system designed GPIB interface using a IPC, through the GPIB interface card with the capacitance tester data collection, in addition, the application of the digital I / O card for the data exchange between the PLC and then form an automatic test system, not only greatly improves the efficiency and accuracy of the test, the test also facilitates data management system for late data analysis system has laid a good foundation.

Analysis of Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) protocol is important in reliability evaluation of HART based systems. The present work proposes a virtual instrument based solution for HART signal analysis that includes a digital oscilloscope with GPIB interface, a HART modem, a PC with a GPIB interface board and a RS232 port, and a software component developed in LabVIEW. The HART analyser permits the visualisation of signals that correspond to the HART protocol, gives access to data coming from field instruments and has the ability to analyse and modify field instrument performance.

Comparing with the traditional phase meter, the design of digital phase meter with GPIB interface based on FPGA have some advantages, such as the high date transmission rate, the simple circuit, short design cycle and the lower price. The principle of this design meets with the standard of IEEE488.2 and use Verilog HDL language to design every interface. Then compile simulate it in Quartus II. Finally download it to the FPGA experiment board to realize every function. It makes the date transmission more stable and reliable through the design of GPIB interface
