The main reason of voltage instability in stand-alone power supply systems is the electric drive motors inrush current, which are usually higher than their nominal value. The most reasonable way to solve this problem is using capacitive energy storage. The purpose of research is shape and measurement monitoring of battery-capacitive energy storage device inrush current characteristics. Parameters comparative analysis for lithium-ion battery (LIB) part and capacitive part of the energy storage device was holding with the twochannel digital oscilloscope.Measuring testing bench included parallel connected LIB part and capacitive part of the storage device and connected to the power source. The LIB part of the storage device is made on the basis of the ATOM 10 multifunctional motor drive device of the new generation, which contains 15 V lithium-ion battery and 9.4 A·h capacity. The capacitive part of the storage device is the INSPECTOR Booster supercapacitor with an 80 F electrostatic capacitance and 15.5 V voltage. A 12 V AC/DC step-down converter was used as a power source. An electric air automobile compressor M-14001 was used as a current drain. The testing bench measuring part consisted of a two-channel digital oscilloscope and two standard measuring shunts with 15000 μOm resistance serial attached to LIB part and capacitive part of the storage device. Shape and measurement monitoring of inrush current characteristics of LIB part and capacitive part of the energy storage device was held synchronously using a two-channel digital oscilloscope with recording data to FAT32 file system USB flash drive. Obtained data was transferred to a personal computer and analyzed. The measurement results showed that 82.3 % of the energy losses compensation of the motor start is taken over by the capacitive part of the energy storage device, what makes longer LIB’s life. By adjusting the oscilloscope sweep trace index you can analyze more detailed time response shape and its duration. The values of the inrush current amplitudes were calculated in proportion to the voltage drop on the shunts and their resistances. The developed method for monitoring shape and measurement inrush current characteristics can be used in various technical applications: smart stand-alone photovoltaic system, uninterruptible power supply devices, electric drive control systems, etc.

The ability to distinguish between neutrons and gamma-rays is important in the fast -neutron detection, especially when using the scintillation detector. A dual correlation pattern recognition (DCPR) method that was based on the correlation pattern recognition technique has been developed for classification of neutron/gamma events from a scintillation detector. In this study, an EJ-301 liquid scintillation (EJ301) detector was used to detect neutrons and gamma-rays from the 60Co and 252Cf sources; the EJ301 detector's pulses were digitized by a digital oscilloscope and its pulse-shape discriminant (PSD) parameters were calculated by the correlation pattern recognition(CPR) method with the reference neutron and gamma-ray pulses. The digital charge integration (DCI) method was also used as a reference-method for comparison with DCPR method. The figure-ofmerit (FOM) values which were calculated in the 50 ÷ 1100 keV electron equivalent (keVee) region showed that the DCPR method outperformed the DCI method. The FOMs of 50, 420 and 1000 keVee thresholds of DCPR method are 0.82 , 2.2 and 1.62, which are 1.55, 1.77, and 1.1 times greater than the DCI method, respectively.

The theoretical and experimental evaluation of the cyclostationary random data transferring process corrupted by the individually and jointly cyclostationary crosstalk interference is presented. The interference and the message signals were measured by the real time digital oscilloscope. Autocorrelation functions were evaluated by synchronous cyclic averaging procedure. The analyzed periodic two-dimensional impulse response of the time-varying filter allows to obtain the output random process with the same cyclic frequency at the output of the filter by separation of orthogonal stationary waveforms constituting the input cyclostationary random process (CSRP). The filtering of the measured random process was implemented by the cyclic Wiener filter. The evaluation of the two-dimensional autocorrelation function and eye diagrams at the output of the cyclic Wiener filter showed significant reduction of the independent interference components in the estimated message signal.

The paper analyzes the vibroacoustic signals obtained by physical modeling of the rotating system, for example, an aircraft gas turbine engine, in the conditions of steady-state and non-steady-state modes. An air starter (supercharger) is used as a physical model of a rotating system, which is driven by a DC motor. The measuring system uses a dynamic microphone with an amplifier, a tachometer, a two-channel digital oscilloscope, a personal computer with technological and special software. The simulation of the ingress of foreign objects into the rotating system is performed by throwing paper balls during the rotation. The multilevel processing based on sequential application of methods of frequency-time analysis, multispectral analysis, and fractal analysis is proposed and substantiated for processing of measured vibroacoustic signals. The results of the frequency-time analysis showed that at the time of throwing the balls the intensity of the components at higher frequencies increases. For fragments of signal realization without throwing and with the throwing of balls the multispectral analysis is carried out and estimates of the bispectrum modulus are received in the form of contour images. At the third level of signal processing, the Minkowski dimension of the contour images of the bispectrum module estimates is determined. The Minkowski dimension is an integral quantitative indicator of the geometry of isolines and differs in value for the selected fragments of the vibroacoustic signal. So it can be used as a diagnostic sign of a foreign object entering the rotating system at the final level of processing. The obtained results can be used to improve the systems of condition monitoring of complex rotating systems, increase sensitivity, expand functionality and provide multi-class diagnostics in the event of damage and violation of normal operating modes

Oscilloscopes are indispensable tools for anyone designing, manufacturing or repairing electronic equipment. In today’s fast-paced world, engineers need the best tools available to solve their measurement challenges quickly and accurately. As the eyes of the engineer, oscilloscopes are the key to meeting today’s demanding measurement challenges. There are many types of oscilloscope available in the market. The main types of oscilloscopes are analog oscilloscope, digital oscilloscope and PC based oscilloscope. From which the digital oscilloscope are widely used now a days due there accuracy portability, high speed, high resolution, data storing capability etc. here we provide an alternative solution which is basically a digital oscilloscope with almost all the control options which any standard digital oscilloscope has. This paper describes the development of a portable, very low cost oscilloscope. The user can start/stop the display, adjust the time division and adjust the voltage division. The features of this device make it suitable for implementing as an educational re-source for graduate students from Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, and Computer Science faculties.
