Rethinking the Egyptian–Israeli Peace Treaty: Perceptions and Receptions Within Egyptian Society (1977–1982)

The Egyptian–Israeli peace treaty marked a new era in the history of the Arab–Israeli conflict. Relying methodologically on the history of ideas and diplomatic history, this article sheds light on the diversity of the perceptions and receptions of peace and relations with Israel as manifested by two influential Egyptian public opinion shapers who represented polar approaches—the mouthpiece of the Muslim Brothers—the journal Al-Da‘wa and Rūz al-Yūsuf, the semi-independent liberal weekly with a moderate left bias. The timeframe is 1977–1982—from Sadat’s historical visit to Jerusalem to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon and its impact on the budding Israeli–Egyptian relations.

The Concept of Concealment and its Effects on the Society in the light of Sunnah (A Subjective Study)

This research includes a selection of Hadiths from the Prophet’s Sunnah dealing with concealment (of disadvantages), the concept of concealment, how Islam preserves man’s honor, and is the forerunner in spreading virtue in the Muslim community. The research details the merits of those who conceal (disadvantages) for their Muslim brothers and their implications.

The Clash of Civil Religions in Post-Revolutionary Egypt

The 2013 counter-revolution that led to the removal of President Mohammad Morsi and the election of former military chief, ‘Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi, as president indicate that Egypt has chosen the unifying framework of Egyptian nationalism and rejected the Islamic one proposed by the Muslim Brothers. These dichotomous categories obscure more than they reveal, because Egyptian politics after the 2011 revolution is also polarized between different visions of the 'civil state'. The civil religion paradigm and the conception of the clash of civil religions as analytical models will be used to enhance our understanding of the relationships between the religious and the civil models and to identify certain characteristics of one of the most striking outcomes of this revolution: the clash between civil models and, more precisely, the clash of civil religions.

Dakwah Komunitas (Sinergitas Masjid Nurul Islam Kalijudan Dan Komunitas Bikers Muslim Dalam Membendung Kristenisasi)

Masjid adalah pusat peradaban dan sentral bagi orang islam didalam kehidupan beragama. Berbagai upaya yang dilakukan musuh-musuh islam dalam melemahkan kaum muslim dari berbagai aspek, maka perlu adanya wadah tertentu untuk meluaskan dakwah para ulama, khususnya di indonesia untuk selalu membentengi iman saudara muslim kita di manapun berada menyatukan umat dan saling tolong menolong untuk kesejahteraan bersama. Salah satu yang harus diperhatikan olehkeislaman kepada Allah ta’ala. Satu-satunya masjid di kota surabaya yang bergerak di bidang dakwah berbasis komunitas adalah masjid nurul islam kalijudan surabaya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tentang sinergitas dakwah masjid dan komunitas yang dilakukan di daerah kristenisasi di lamongan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam sinergitas dakwah, masjid nurul islam kalijudan dan komunitas bikers muslim memperluas jangkauan dakwahnya untuk memberikan kepedulian kepada saudara muslim tertindas dan meperkuat ukhuwah islamiyah. Berbagai upaya yang dilakukan untuk mempertahankan iman saudara muslim kita di daerah kristenisasi dengan tujuan islam rahmatan lil ‘alamin. Mosques are the center of civilization and central to Muslims in their religious life. The various efforts made by the enemies of Islam in weakening the Muslims from various aspects, it is necessary to have a certain forum to expand the preaching of the scholars, especially in Indonesia to always fortify the faith of our Muslim brothers wherever they are to unite the people and help each other for common prosperity. One thing that must be considered by Islam is to Allah Ta'ala. The only mosque in the city of Surabaya that is engaged in community-based da'wah is the Nurul Islam Kalijudan Mosque in Surabaya. The purpose of this study is to describe the synergy of mosque and community preaching carried out in Christianized areas in Lamongan. In this study using a qualitative method with a descriptive qualitative method approach. In the synergy of da'wah, the Kalijudan Nurul Islam Mosque and the Muslim bikers community are expanding the reach of their da'wah to give concern to oppressed Muslim brothers and strengthen Islamic brotherhood. Various efforts have been made to defend the faith of our Muslim brothers in Christianized areas with the aim of Islam rahmatan lil 'alamin.

The Arab Spring in Arab Republic of Egypt was met with great hope of changing the status quo, of democratization, economic and social changes, of achieving full justice and endorsing equal opportunity for all Egyptian citizens. Nine years later, this dream is still not realized. The article follows up on the rule of MB and provides an analysis of the changing rights and freedoms of women under its ruling.
