Chromosome number data on the Hygromiidae (Gastropoda: Stylommatophora) are summarized and reviewed briefly in the context of the phylogeny of the family. In hygromiids, the haploid chromosome numbers range from 21 to 26. It is supposed that n = 21 is the ancestral chromosome number in the family. The modal haploid number for Hygromiidae is 23. Description of karyotype in terms of chromosome number and morphology of hygromiid land snail Circassina frutis is provided for the first time. The diploid chromosome number of this species is 2n = 46. The karyotype is symmetric and consists of 21 pairs of metacentric and 2 pairs of submetacentric chromosomes. The karyotype formula is as follows: 2n = 42m + 4sm (n = 21m + 2sm). The fundamental number (FN) is 92. Chromosomes range in length from 2.53 μm for the smallest pair to 6.00 μm for the largest pair. The total length of chromosomes in diploid complement (TCL) is 170.40 ± 3.22 μm.

Although the Galápagos Islands are recognized for their contribution to our understanding of evolutionary theory and have received the attention of scientists for over 185 years, our understanding of the native rodents there has been minimal relative to many other groups of organisms.  Much of what we knew through most of the 20th century was based solely on species descriptions.  Chromosome data has been limited to only Nesoryzomys narboroughi (2n = 32, FN (number of autosomal arms) = 50) and Aegialomys galapagoensis (2n = 56; FN = 58).  We present the karyotypes of the only remaining extant species in the genus, N. swarthi (2n = 56; FN = 54) and N. fernandinae (2n = 44; FN = 54).  Chromosomal banding reveals that extensive rearrangement has occurred within Nesoryzomys, including Robertsonian fusion and tandem fusion events but these alone cannot account for the diverse diploid numbers found within the genus.  We propose that 1) N. swarthi represents the ancestral karyotype for the genus, similar to A. galapagoensis, 2) N. swarthi and N. fernandinae share the same fundamental number, suggesting divergence by Robertsonian fusions, and 3) N. narboroughi has the most derived karyotype, based on banding morphology and low diploid number.

This study was conducted to explain the karyological characteristics of S. xanthoprymnus from Gencali in Turkey. The chromosomes of the specimens were traditionally stained and examined according to standard procedures. The chromosomes were determined according to centromere positions by examining the photographs of metaphase cells. The karyotype of S. xanthoprymnus contained 42 chromosomes (2n=42) and fundamental number of chromosomal arms NF=81 and the number of autosomal arms NFa=78. The karyotype includes four metacentric chromosomes ranging from large to small, three pairs of large and medium-sized submetacentric autosome, twelve ranging from large to medium size subtelocentric, and a pair of acrocentric autosomes. The X chromosome was determined as large subtelocentric and Y chromosome as small acrocentric. Due to there is no karyological information and geographical distribution of existentence cytotypes in Turkey, revelation of chromosomal structure in Anatolian ground squirrel populations will provide properly assessment of taxonomy of those rodents in further studies.

Phalangopsids are a diverse group of crickets found in all tropical and subtropical regions, and includes 1044 valid species. Up to now, only 22 species were studied cytologically, with the chromosome number ranging from 2n = 11 to 2n = 21. In this paper we studied the chromosomes of 12 phalangopsid species from different Brazilian biomes (eight of them reported for the first time), and we traced some trends on chromosomal derivation in this group, based on chromosome morphology and fundamental number. We found that in the phalangopsid species the karyotype concentrates a large amount of metacentric chromosomes, the result of successive centric fusions over evolutionary time. Moreover, pericentric inversions and translocations have been also important in the chromosomal derivation of these crickets.

The aim of this study was to determine chromosomal characteristics of Rhodeus amarus (Block, 1782) from Turkey by conventional procedures (Giemsa, C-banding and Ag-NOR staining). Metaphase chromosomes were obtained from the head kidney cells. The diploid number was found as 48 and the fundamental number as 76. Chromosomes were morphologically characterized as metacentric (four pairs), submetacentric (10 pairs) and subtelo-acrocentric (10 pairs). C-bands were found to occur on the pericentromeric regions of most of the chromosomes and a single AgNOR was observed on Silver stained metaphases. The results may expand the knowledge on chromosomal features of bitterlings.

Myotis lavali is an insectivorous bat that occurs along the South American Dry Diagonal, extending from the Brazilian Caatinga southward to Paraguayan Alto Chaco. This species was described recently and there is little information about its biology. Herein, we describe the conventional karyotype from three males captured in an arboreal savanna from Vale do Jequitinhonha, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The diploid number (2n) and the fundamental number of autosomes (FNa) were 44 and 50, respectively. Its karyotype, in Giemsa staining, is similar to others described for Neotropical Myotis, and it is not useful to identify specimens.

Three species of ornamental fishes in the subfamily Cyprininae (family Cyprinidae) namely, Epalzeorhynchos frenatum (Fowler, 1934), Puntigrus partipentazona (Fowler, 1934), Scaphognathops bandanensis Boonyaratpalin et Srirungroj, 1971 were studied by classical cytogenetic and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) techniques. Chromosomes were directly prepared from kidney tissues and stained by using conventional and Ag-NOR banding techniques. Microsatellite d(CA)15 and d(CGG)10 probes were hybridized to the chromosomes of three cyprinids. The results show that the three cyprinid species share the same diploid number as 2n=50 but there are differences in the fundamental number (NF) and karyotypes i.e. E. frenatum: NF = 78, 18m+10sm+10st+12a; P. partipentazona: NF = 80, 6m+24sm+14st+6a; S. bandanensis: NF = 66, 4m+12sm+34a. NOR positive masks were observed at the regions adjacent to the telomere of the short arm of the chromosome pairs 10 (submetacentric) and 1 (metacentric) in E. frenatum and P. partipentazona, respectively whereas those were revealed at telomeric regions of the long arm of the chromosome pair 9 (acrocentric) in S. bandanensis. The mapping of d(CA)15 and d(CGG)10 microsatellites shown that hybridization signals are abundantly distributed in telomeric regions of several pairs except d(CA)15 repeats in S. bandanensis, which are distributed throughout all chromosomes and d(CGG)10 repeats in P. partipentazona display the high accumulation only in the first chromosome pair.

Getting comfort and solace is an increasingly important idea in 21st century. The getting of progressing development and capacities directly deals with an unrivaled choice for pediatric surgeries. It was a randomized, twofold outwardly disabled, comparable equivalent social affair study including 60 patients, spread also 30 each in Group 1 (concentrate calm Midazolam) and Group 2 (control pack Dexmedetomidine). Sedation achieved in the dexmedetomidine pack was more than that practiced in the midazolam gathering. Extremely (90% versus 56%) P regard 0.0074 was found. 21 out of 30 in the midazolam pack achieved honorable parent piece disquiet score took a gander at and 28 out of 30 in the dexmedetomidine gathering. 18 out of 30 in the midazolam pack achieved exceptional spread request score and 27 out of 30 in the dexmedetomidine achieved tasteful spread affirmation score. An unquestionably fundamental number of youths in pack Dexmedetomidine achieved beguiling spread validation score of 1 or 2 when isolated and bunch Midazolam. wake up score were desperate down where 14 out of 30 in the midazolam get cultivated great wake together score. A consistently noticeable number of children in wrap Dexmedetomidine achieved wake up score of 1 or 2 when isolated and pack Midazolam. Post usable absense of wretchedness was less required in the dexmedetomidine gathering. Study was viewed as that Dexmedetomidine can be used as an unmatched drug broke down than midazolam as an intramuscular premedication in pediatric age.
