In contemporary philosophical thought, Leo Strauss is associated with the rediscovery of ancient political philosophy against modern political philosophy. The rediscovery of ancient political philosophy is the rediscovery of classical rationalism or “moderate Enlightenment” against modern rationalism or “radical Enlightenment” and can be understood as recapturing the “the question of man’s right life” and “the question of the right order of society”. This article would like to show that it was his study of medieval Islamic and Jewish texts that enabled Strauss to rediscover the classical rationalism. Also, in this article we would like to argue that although the opposition between Athens and Jerusalem, Reason and Revelation embodies two irreconcilable alternatives or a way of life in his thought, this opposition should be only examined with references to claims about radical rationalism of modern philosophy. In this case, we would like to argue that there can be seen a commonality between these “opponents”, i.e., Athens and Jerusalem, Reason and Revelation in terms of both their attitudes towards morality and their approaches to the relationship between philosophy and society.

In the present paper, we investigate the $\left[p,q\right] $-order of solutions of higher order linear differential equations \begin{equation*} A_{k}\left(z\right) f^{\left( k\right) }+A_{k-1}\left( z\right) f^{\left(k-1\right)}+\cdots +A_{1}\left( z\right) f^{\prime }+A_{0}\left( z\right)   f=0 \end{equation*} and \begin{equation*} A_{k}\left( z\right) f^{\left( k\right) }+A_{k-1}\left( z\right) f^{\left(k-1\right) }+\cdots +A_{1}\left( z\right) f^{\prime }+A_{0}\left( z\right) f=F\left( z\right), \end{equation*} where $A_{0}\left( z\right) ,$ $A_{1}\left( z\right) ,...,A_{k}\left(z\right) \not\equiv 0$ and $F\left( z\right) \not\equiv 0$ are meromorphic functions of finite $\left[ p,q\right] $-order. We improve and extend some results of the authors by using the concept $\left[ p,q\right] $-order.

We organize and extend findings on the comparative static effects of risk changes on optimal behavior in a unifying expected utility model. We determine restrictions on preferences for clear-cut results. Risk increases of a benefit are compensated by lowering exposure to risk. For risk increases of a cost, the response depends on the order of the risk change. This discrepancy arises because even-order risk increases of a cost raise the riskiness of the payoff distribution, whereas odd-order risk increases of a cost reduce it. We identify the stochastic dominance orders to resolve this discrepancy and discuss specific decision problems as applications. This paper was accepted by Manel Baucells, behavioral economics and decision analysis.

Huave exhibits "mobile affixation", whereby the placement of individual affixes varies depending on the phonological properties of affix and stem. Kim (2008, 2010) analyzed these facts within a cyclic cophonology approach through the interaction between alignment constraints (McCarthy & Prince, 1993) and the phonological constraints *CC and DEP. Using the same core components, this paper develops an alternative, fully parallel analysis. In this approach, morphemes are unordered in the phonological input, every morpheme is indexed to its own (crucially gradient) alignment constraint, and output ordering is determined entirely through simultaneous constraint interaction. Notably, this analysis captures a previously unnoticed generalization about the stability of left/right order between affixes in the language. The main contribution of this new analysis is that it provides a principled distinction between mobile and immobile affixes: the order of affixes, as determined by the relative ranking of their alignment constraints, correlates with their ability to trigger epenthesis, as determined by their ranking relative to DEP. This follows from a parallel approach with a single language-wide ranking, but not from a cyclic cophonology account. Furthermore, this distinction can be tied directly to morphosyntactic structure via Zukoff's (2020) "Mirror Alignment Principle" and considerations of Base-Derivative faithfulness (Benua, 1997).

The spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) causes all activities and learning activities to be carried out from home. The home visit program is one of the programs at TK Ar-Rahman Tasikmadu Karanganyar in the new normal era. The purpose of this study was to describe the home visit program in strengthening the development of religious and moral values in early childhood in Kindergarten Ar-Rahman Tasikmadu Karanganyar. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects were group A TK Ar-Rahman. Data analysis using a model developed by Miles and Huberman. The results showed that in the new normal era, the development of religious and moral values in the TK A group in TK Ar-Rahman went well through the home visit program. The home visit program procedure consists of: planning, implementing, evaluating, and analyzing the results of the evaluation, follow-up, and reports. The aspect of religion being developed is that children can know their religion, children can imitate worship movements in the right order, children can say prayers before and/or after doing something, children can say greetings and return greetings. While the moral aspects include: children can recognize good, polite, and bad behavior, and children can get used to behaving well.

We establish the convergence rate to exponential distribution in a limit theorem for extreme values of birth and death processes. Some applications of this result are given to processes specifying queue length.). We establish uniform estimates for the convergence rate in the exponential distribution in a limit theorem for extreme values of birth and death processes. This topic is closely related to the problem on the time of first intersection of some level u by a regenerating process. Of course, we assume that both time t and level u grow infinitely. The proof of our main result is based on an important estimate for general regenerating processes. Investigations of the kind are needed in different fields: mathematical theory of reliability, queueing theory, some statistical problems in physics. We also provide with examples of applications of our results to extremal queueing problems M/M/s. In particular case of queueing M/M/1, we show that the obtained estimates have the right order with respect to the probability q(u) of the exceeding of a level u at one regeneration cycle, that is, only improvement of the corresponding constants is possible.

Abstract The identification of the right order of the equation in applied fractional modeling plays an important role. In this paper we consider an inverse problem for determining the order of time fractional derivative in a subdiffusion equation with an arbitrary second order elliptic differential operator. We prove that the additional information about the solution at a fixed time instant at a monitoring location, as “the observation data”, identifies uniquely the order of the fractional derivative.

This chapter uses decolonial and settler colonial theory to analyse the spirit of Leviathan. Imagined both as a singular spirit and the sum of all demons, Leviathan is used to conceptualize ideas of chaos and counterfeit order. As chaos and counterfeit, they embody the base matter from which sovereignty makes order and all “illegitimate” forms of that order. Reading spiritual warfare’s demonology through Thomas Hobbes’s Leviathan, the chapter traces conjurations of Leviathan in images of primordial chaos, the neoliberal state, resurgent socialism and grassroots protest groups, and revitalized indigenous religions. It contends that Leviathan unsettles teleological narratives by embodying alternative possibilities that sovereign will has deemed over, but which ceaselessly pass into and as “right” order. The repetition of these passings means that—absent an apocalypse that ends all possibility of an otherwise—sovereignty must always reinvent itself in reaction to Leviathan’s passings to disguise (thereby actualizing) its own passing.

Purpose Care pathways are being increasingly used in the national health service to outline an anticipated programme of care in relation to a particular illness, condition or set of symptoms. The purpose of this paper is to inform those using the service of what they might expect within what time frame. They are designed to reduce variation in practice and allow optimal quality of care across a variety of care settings. Care pathways map out a patient’s journey, providing coordination of services for users. They aim to have: “the right people, doing the right things, in the right order, at the right time, in the right place, with the right outcome”. Design/methodology/approach This paper outlines care pathways in relation to people with intellectual disabilities who present with behaviour that challenges. Findings It is likely that many people will have a lifelong need for support, so discharge from clinical services should only be considered if it is genuinely appropriate. Reductions in a person’s behaviours that challenge are likely to be a consequence of changes that have been made to the person’s environment and supports. Therefore, any reductions in the level or type of support that the person receives may lead to an escalation of the behaviour again. Originality/value Standards in relation to care pathways are presented.
