<p>This study aims to design a new architecture of the artificial neural networks (ANNs) using the Xilinx system generator (XSG) and its hardware co-simulation equivalent model using field programmable gate array (FPGA) to predict the behavior of Chua’s chaotic system and use it in hiding information. The work proposed consists of two main sections. In the first section, MATLAB R2016a was used to build a 3×4×3 feed forward neural network (FFNN). The training results demonstrate that FFNN training in the Bayesian regulation algorithm is sufficiently accurate to directly implement. The second section demonstrates the hardware implementation of the network with the XSG on the Xilinx artix7 xc7a100t-1csg324 chip. Finally, the message was first encrypted using a dynamic Chua system and then decrypted using ANN’s chaotic dynamics. ANN models were developed to implement hardware in the FPGA system using the IEEE 754 Single precision floating-point format. The ANN design method illustrated can be extended to other chaotic systems in general.</p>

Nonlinear chaotic dynamics of the of the chaotic laser diodes with an additional optical injection  is computed within rate equations model, based on the a set of rate equations for the slave laser electric complex amplitude and carrier density. To calculate the system dynamics in a chaotic regime the known chaos theory and non-linear analysis methods such as a correlation integral algorithm, the Lyapunov’s exponents and  Kolmogorov entropy analysis are used. There are listed the data of computing dynamical and topological invariants such as the correlation, embedding and Kaplan-Yorke dimensions, Lyapunov’s exponents, Kolmogorov entropy etc. New data on topological and dynamical invariants are computed and firstly presented.

Based on about 75000 earthquakes in the California region detected through Parkfield network during the years 1969-1987, the occurrence of chaos was examined by two different approaches, namely, strange at tractor dimension and the Lyapunov exponent. The strange at tractor dimension was found as 6.3 in this region suggesting atleast 7 parameters for earthquake predictability. Small positive Lyapunov exponent of 0.045 provided further evidence for deterministic chaos in the region which showed strong dependence on the initial conditions. Implications of chaotic dynamics on characteristic Parkfield earthquakes has been discussed. The strange at tractor dimension in the region could be representative for the Transform type of plate boundary which is lower than that reported for continent collision type of plate boundary which is lower than that reported for continent collision type of plate boundary near Hindukush northwest Himalayan region.

Historically, psychedelic drugs are known to modulate cognitive flexibility, a central aspect of cognition permitting adaptation to changing environmental demands. Despite proof suggesting phenomenological similarities between artificially-induced and actual psychedelic altered perception, experimental evidence is still lacking about whether the former is also able to modulate cognitive flexibility. To address this, we measure participants' cognitive flexibility through behavioral tasks after the exposure to virtual reality panoramic videos and their hallucinatory-like counterparts generated by the DeepDream algorithm. Results show that the estimated semantic network has a flexible structure when preceded by altered videos. Crucially, following the simulated psychedelic exposure, individuals also show an attenuated contribution of the automatic process and chaotic dynamics underlying the decision process. This suggests that simulated altered perceptual phenomenology enhances cognitive flexibility, presumably due to a reorganization in the cognitive dynamics that facilitates the exploration of uncommon decision strategies and inhibits automated choices.

This paper reports a simple three-dimensional autonomous system with a single stable node equilibrium. The system has a constant controller which adjusts the dynamic of the system. It is revealed that the system exhibits both chaotic and non-chaotic dynamics. Moreover, chaotic or periodic attractors coexist with a single stable equilibrium for some control parameter based on initial conditions. The system dynamics are studied by analyzing bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponents, and basins of attractions. Beyond a fixed-point analysis, a new analysis known as connecting curves is provided. These curves are one-dimensional sets of the points that are more informative than fixed points. These curves are the skeleton of the system, which shows the direction of flow evolution.

The voltage controlled buck converter by constant-frequency pulse-width modulation in continuous conduction mode gives rise to a variety of nonlinear behaviors depending on the circuit parameters values, which complicate their analysis and control. In this paper, a description of the DC/DC buck converter and an overview of some of its chaotic dynamics is presented. A solution based on the optimized PID controller is suggested to eliminate the observed nonlinear phenomena and to enhance the dynamics of the converter. The parameters of the controller are optimized with the Spotted Hyena Optimizer (SHO) which uses the sum of the error between the reference voltage and the output voltage as well as the error between the values of the inductor current in every switch opening instant to determine the fitness of each solution. The simulations results in MATLAB proved the efficiency of the proposed solution.
