The strength of poetry by Mollah Panah Vagif is not only for the closeness to the people, or for nationality and the sweetness of language style, but also for universal characteristic features. Mollah Panah Vagif is one of the outstanding persons who has great value both in his living period, next centuries and nowadays too. His literary works are not only the beginning of Renaissance period of our national poetry, but also founded the basis of new literary school having a talent of showing reality. Mollah Panah Vagif's literary works play a lighthouse role for his followers. This literary school was the realism of our national-people poetry. This reality is our today's victory for our motherland. The article deals with the problem of forming the autocompetence of a preschool teacher as a universal characteristic as a part of the structure of professional competence. The article substantiates the idea of the role of auto competence in the dynamic adaptation of the teacher in modern educational realities. The formation of auto competence is presented in the form of a step-by-step model that reveals the logic of the process based on objectively existing contradictions between the understanding of the importance of increasing the level of awareness of the subject’s own personality, and insufficient knowledge of a specific set of means and conditions that motivate him to self-knowledge. The authors trace the features of the formation of auto-competence at each of the stages described in the study. The article summarizes the practical experience of implementing the program for the auto competence formation into the process of psychological and pedagogical support of teachers.

Postmodern theories on the subject are very diverse. In this article, we take a closer look at physicist and philosopher Karen Barad’s work in the emerging field of new materialism as an example of postmodern theory. The aim is to analyze Barad’s subject model as such and what it entails for doing the science of psychology. We will do this by analyzing Barad’s notion of the subject through three different types of subject models. This analysis will then be supplemented by a critical inquiry into Barad’s subject model by way of phenomenology. We conclude that Barad’s subject model is unfit for studying the subject in psychology as she leaves no room for the universal characteristic of experiential life, which makes it impossible to generalize psychological findings—a necessity in science—and that this criticism could apply to other subject models like hers in postmodern theory.

This chapter defends Early German Romanticism, defined by Schlegel and Novalis as “progressive,” “universal,” and “poetic,” as offering an ideal philosophy of history. The elliptical shape of the Romantic account is contrasted favorably with the other alternatives: linear, circular, and chaotic, each of which can be characterized in either simple or complex forms. The chapter explains how the Romantic terms have precise systematic meanings: the “progressive” characteristic concerns democratic ethics, the “universal” characteristic concerns a rational, philosophical approach, and the “poetic” characteristic concerns a way of writing with regard to history that aims at being maximally effective by being broadly aesthetic in style. Hölderlin’s work, and especially his poem, “Celebration of Peace,” is analyzed as an ideal presentation of this conception of history, one that builds on the Kantian notion of a succession of exemplary geniuses as crucial to history’s elliptical progress.

This study is concerned with the identifiability of intonational phrase boundaries across familiar and unfamiliar languages. Four annotators segmented a corpus of more than three hours of spontaneous speech into intonational phrases. The corpus included narratives in their native German, but also in three languages of Indonesia unknown to them. The results show significant agreement across the whole corpus, as well as for each subcorpus. We discuss the interpretation of these results, including the hypothesis that it makes sense to distinguish between phonetic and phonological intonational phrases, and that the former are a universal characteristic of speech, allowing listeners to segment speech into intonational phrase-sized units even in unknown languages.
