This chapter begins with the early formation of academic Tibetology and examines how Tibet was folded into Europe’s nineteenth-century India-centric Orientalism. The chapter then moves on to the story of Helena Blavatsky and the foundation of the Theosophical Society in 1875, examining how the subtle body was portrayed in her books published in the 1870s and 1880s. It shows how her engagement with the subtle body—that is, her weaving together of Neoplatonic, Kabbalistic, Darwninan, German idealist, Transcendentalist, and Orientalist strands—significantly laid the groundwork for future permutations of the subtle body in both popular and academic arenas.

The 1990s are considered a major force on fashion, music and screens. At that time, in Indonesia various bands were born, developed and reached a golden age. One of them is the KLa Project, which is still surviving until the age of 32. This study aims to determine the experience of group communication in the KLa Project band in an effort to maintain their existence for 32 years in the Indonesian Music scene. The method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects consisted of the main research subjects, namely KLa Project personnel, namely Ignatius Bagaskoro Katon, Romulo Radjadin, Adi Adrian and Ahmad Ari Suharto. Supporting research subjects were also taken in this study, namely the crew and management of the KLa Project, as well as several other fellow musicians who are related to the KLa Project. The results show that communication between personnel in the KLa Project music group or band is the most important and fundamental thing. The group communication is also dynamic and there is a change in communication patterns during the early formation and journey of the KLa Project, namely from 1986-1987 to 2000, with the communication situation between personnel in 2001.

The article presents the results of a study of the psychological features of emotional burnout in 55 teachers— oligophrenic pedagogues. It was found that in this category of the surveyed, in comparison with teachers of mass educational institutions, there is a more frequent and early formation of burnout syndrome with a predominance of phases of stress and exhaustion, leading to pronounced psychological disorders.

Byzantine art, born in the Middle East, is still alive in the area. The oldest Christians in the world—Armenians, Copts, Georgians, Syrian, and Eastern Orthodox—still have vital communities in the Middle East that express themselves through later forms of “Byzantine” artistic language. Byzantine art developed through four historical periods in this area: (1) early formation and growth in the Middle East; (2) art under the Muslim conquest; (3) the continuing Christian art under Islamic domination; and (4) the Crusader period. Despite these cataclysmic changes, an artistic language led by Constantinople developed in this area and survives in the modern world, somewhat erratically, but distinctive nonetheless.

The aim of this work is studying the influence of the severity of dysfunctions on the part of the central and autonomic nervous systems on the atherosclerotic process in hypertension in flight crews with concomitant traditional factors of cardiovascular risk (abdominal obesity) serving in the Far North by the authors.Materials and methods. A clinical examination was carried out on 54 patients (men) aged from 33 to 42 years, from among the military personnel of the aviation personnel of the Northern Fleet naval aviation, the average age of the examined was 37.4±4.6 years. The following groups of patients were formed: 1st (n=26) — flight crew specialists serving in the Far North, with first degree abdominal obesity, first stage hypertension and moderate astheno-neurotic disorders (main group); 2nd (n=14) — flight crew specialists serving in the Far North, with first degree abdominal obesity, first stage hypertension in comorbidity with mild astheno-neurotic disorders; Group 3 (n=10) was represented by flight crew patients with the first stage of hypertension with initial manifestations of psychovegetative dysfunctions (control). We assessed the qualitative and quantitative paired correlations between the state of the psychological status, regulation of the neuropsychic adaptation system, markers of early formation of atherosclerosis, and indicators of the average daily blood pressure level. Results and their discussion. It was found that the severity of disorders of the asthenovegetative spectrum in the examined groups has a negative direct pathological effect on quantitative and qualitative paired correlations between indicators characterizing the state of psychophysiological status, markers of early formation of the atherosclerotic process, and values of average daily blood pressure monitoring. The results obtained make it possible to summarize that the more pronounced the disturbances in the functioning of the central and autonomic nervous systems in hypertension in persons from the flight crew, the more significant the shifts towards atherogenicity of indicators reflecting the activity of the atherosclerotic process and the more unfavorable outcome in the course of cardiovascular pathology in such patients.

The Istra Pushed Area is a specifically deformed territory of the northwestern part of the External Dinarides. It formed due to the movement of the Istra block as part of the Adriatic Microplate (Adria) towards the Dinarides since the middle Miocene. The movement of the Istra block caused hereditary shifts along the old dislocations dating back to the early formation stage of the formation of the Dinarides at the end of the Eocene and their deformation. These deformations are reflected also in certain extreme gravitational phenomena along the boundary between the External Dinaric Imbricated Belt and the External Dinaric Thrust Belt, where Mesozoic carbonates are thrusted upon the Cenozoic flysch. The boundary zone between these two belts connects the Trnovo, Hrušica and Snežnik Thrust Fronts. Four specific gravitational phenomena that occurred in this boundary zone are presented here, as they are remarkable in terms of their size: Črna griža (Trnovo Nappe), Suhi vrh (Hrušica Nappe), Petelinje mlake and Ilirska Bistrica (both from the Snežnik Nappe). The phenomena at Suhi vrh is described in detail herein.

Abstract Although fluoride has been widely used in the prevention of dental caries, the effect of fluoride on the activity of biofilm in different stages of cariogenic biofilm formation is less studied. This study aimed to investigate the antibiofilm activity of sodium fluoride during early and mature Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) biofilms formation. S. mutans biofilms were formed on saliva-coated hydroxyapatite disks. In the early (0 ~ 46 h) and mature (46 ~ 94 h) biofilm stages, the biofilm was treated with different concentrations of fluoride (250, 500, 1000, 2000 ppm; 5 times in total, 1 min/treatment). Acidogenicity, dry weight, colony-forming units, water-soluble/insoluble extracellular polysaccharides (EPS), and intracellular polysaccharides were analyzed and confocal laser scanning microscopy images were obtained of the two stages of biofilms (early and mature biofilms). To determine the antibiofilm activity of sodium fluoride during the formation of early and mature biofilms, and to evaluate the relationship between different concentrations of sodium fluoride and antibiofilm activity. In the early cariogenic biofilm formation stage, all fluoride concentration test groups (250, 500, 1000, 2000 ppm) significantly inhibited the growth of S. mutans biofilm. The antibiofilm and anti-EPS formation activities of the brief fluoride treatment increased in a concentration-dependent pattern. At the mature biofilm stage, only the 2000 ppm fluoride treatment group significantly inhibited biofilm accumulation, activity, and intracellular/extracellular polysaccharide content compared with the control and other fluoride treatment groups. The antimicrobial activity of fluoride is related to the formation stage of cariogenic biofilm. The early formation stage of cariogenic biofilm is more susceptible to the inhibition of fluorine than the mature stage. The fluoride treatment in the early formation stage of cariogenic biofilm may be an effective means to control the development of cariogenic biofilm and prevent caries.
