Abstract The use of aluminum radiators in heating systems began with the foreign companies products such as Fondital Group, Global Radiatori, Ferroli, etc. There are now Russian aluminum radiators companies that adhere to European standards, for example ROYAL Thermo, Rifar. The thermal characteristics of radiators are usually specified by the manufacturer. However, they are not always confirmed in practice. This is due to the fact that radiator connecting method is not taken into account. In some technical data sheets, the power reduction factors are given depending on the difference between the average coolant temperature and the air temperature in the room. Therefore, the study of the influence of aluminium heating appliances connecting on its thermal characteristics is an actual task. The article presents the results of research of radiator of the ROYAL Thermo Evolution type, it was made on request from company specialising in heating systems design. It was found that the actual thermal power of one section varies in the range of 135 … 225 W, depending on the connection method of the radiator, the thermal power of the section declared by the manufacturer corresponds only to the diagonal «top-bottom» connection, the thermal power of the eight-section radiator with one-sided «top-bottom» connection is 12% higher than with a diagonal one. Studies show, when designing heating systems, it is necessary to take into account the connection method and the number of device sections.

Abstract The traditional cigarette conveying system of cigarette industry adopts a one-to-one hard connection method, which has problems such as poor spatial scalability and high equipment coupling. A spatial layout method for carton conveying system based on the SOSG (Solid Orthogonal Structure Graph) matrix is proposed. Through this method, a matrix cigarette conveying system is constructed. Compared with the traditional mode, its space utilization rate is increased by 67%, equipment coupling is reduced, and the downtime rate of carton conveying line due to the shutdown of sealing machine can be reduced from 100% to 0%.

In this study, cyclic loading tests were conducted on reinforced concrete (RC) portal frames with brace-type friction dampers. The boundary conditions that could reproduce the axial forces exerted on the beams were adopted. To resist the axial force acting on the RC member, a damper connection method was employed by using steel inserted through the center of the RC member. The purpose of this study was to a) understand the behavior of the damper connection and the RC frame with brace-type friction dampers based on experimental tests and b) to confirm the effectiveness of the new connection method. According to the test results, the proposed connection method achieved effective damper connections in the RC frames. For the RC frame specimens with dampers, it was confirmed that the damper reached its sliding force and started to dissipate energy at an early stage with story drift ratios smaller than those at RC beam yielding. The welded part of the gusset plate and the steel inserted through the center of the RC beam were broken. When the welded part inside the beam broke and the axial deformation of the beam increased, the sliding displacement of the damper decreased. Therefore, a reliable jointing method of this part needs to be established.

In this paper, the structure and the working principle of an existing linear potentiometer sensor are introduced; furthermore, the structure and circuit connection method of a new linear bipotentiometer sensor is proposed. The sensitivity, step error, and load characteristics of the existing potentiometer sensor and the linear bipotentiometer sensor are both studied and compared. The simulation results of their static characteristics show that the sensitivity of the linear bipotentiometer sensor is increased, the relative load error is greatly reduced, and the linearity is improved. Meanwhile, the measurement accuracy of the linear bipotentiometer sensor is effectively improved.
