“If the library can serve as a safe and welcoming place for these students, it will help contribute to their ultimate college success.” (Anderson, 2018). Certain characteristics of autism spectrum disorder can make it challenging for autistic college students to make use of academic libraries. High levels of sensory stimulation and the need to understand and comply with neurotypical social norms can make library spaces feel unwelcoming and difficult to use. West Chester University Libraries decided to develop a dedicated space for our growing cohort of autistic students to study. This article will discuss the reasons why autistic students may find academic libraries challenging as well as the considerations and process of developing a separate space for autistic students within a library.

Abstract The traditional cigarette conveying system of cigarette industry adopts a one-to-one hard connection method, which has problems such as poor spatial scalability and high equipment coupling. A spatial layout method for carton conveying system based on the SOSG (Solid Orthogonal Structure Graph) matrix is proposed. Through this method, a matrix cigarette conveying system is constructed. Compared with the traditional mode, its space utilization rate is increased by 67%, equipment coupling is reduced, and the downtime rate of carton conveying line due to the shutdown of sealing machine can be reduced from 100% to 0%.

THE PATTERN OF UTILIZING THE PLANES AS A PUBLIC OPEN SPACE IN MAGELANG CITYMagelang City Square is one of the public open spaces as well as a City Landmark that is often visited by many people, where many people carry out social, economic, and tour activities. Environmental settings offered in public open spaces affect how the perpetrators carry out activities. The activities of tourist attractions, culinary delights, children's games, and sports have led to a pattern of spatial use that occurs in the area. The formed pattern is dominated by actors and activities that cause density intensity in certain areas. The analytical method used is the behavioral mapping technique which aims to describe the pattern of spatial use in a map, then identify the frequency of actors and activities carried out and show their relation to the environmental setting offered. The purpose of this study is to determine the pattern of space utilization in a certain area and then provide a form of design proposals that can support the activities of the actors and activities in Magelang City Square. The findings show that the highest intensity of space utilization is found in the physical setting of the dancing fountain as a tourist attraction that can be enjoyed by all users during the weekend.

Circular tunnels are the most popular shapes used in urban underground transportation systems when mechanized tunneling is used for tunnel excavation. However, circular tunnels have a small space utilization ratio. With the material development, non - circular tunnels such as sub - rectangular, U - shaped lining, etc. are now common, and their cross - section helps to improve the underground space utilization. However, there have been not many studies on the structure and the calculation method of the metro tunnels with the above cross - sections. The paper uses the analytical synthesis method to find out the advantages and disadvantages, the application conditions of the sub - rectangular shape, as well as the development direction for the complete calculation methods for this cross - section in Vietnamese conditions.

Underground space, both open-cut and fully underground method, has been in use throughout the world for mining, storage, waterway, transport, and others from past centuries. But still the clear demarcation of ownership in terms of surface and underground is not clear in most parts of the world. The concept of underground space utilization is an evolving concept. The developed nations have opted for this option to accommodate growing urbanization need. Two modes of space utilization are reviewed for this paper, open excavation and full underground excavation. Also world case scenario is presented and is compared to the situation in Nepal. Social factors and geological factors in the context of Nepal are also addressed that have been crucial in case of some completed projects. Ambiguous underground rights in relation to surface ownership in Nepal is taken in account and example of some cities like Singapore, Tokyo, Helsinki is presented to make it clear how right segregation is possible and is needed for better underground space utilization. Historical evolution of Tunneling in Nepal is discussed along with the future designed and scheduled projects. Despite the geological complexity and lack of experienced manpower in the context of Himalayan geology the importance of underground space is highlighted because emerging researches and technological innovation around the world and also in Nepal have been confirming this concept now and again. As a conclusion for betterment and well managed cities in Nepal underground space would be an undefeated option in the long run.

Within the Assembly to Order (ATO) production strategy, the common approach is to produce the parts to assemble with a Push-Make to Stock policy. In recent decades, the effects of the modern Just in Time (JIT) moved to a Pull-Make to Order policy. Assembled parts characterized by wide variety and huge storage space utilization are critical, and a proper Push/Pull production policy definition is required. An appropriate balance of storage space utilization and setup times leads to the optimization of the production policy. The aim of this paper is to define a bi-objective mathematical optimization model to assign the most suitable production policy to the parts within the production mix in an ATO industrial context. A numerical simulation and an operative case study showcases the model application, proving the industrial relevance of this research.
