This study aims to determine whether the variation of under passing with the letter model can improve the results of under-passing in the Medan TVRI club volleyball athletes in 2020, the exercise of the under-passing variation with the letter model is an exercise that can help improve the under-passing technique in the game.. test after the end of the workout in the last week. Hypothesis analysis, namely, the effect of the variation of the under-passing training with the letter model on the under-passing of volleyball athletes of the Medan TVri club female athletes in 2021, obtained a Thitung hypothesis test of 3,35 Furthermore, compared with the t table with dk = n-1 = 10-1 = 9 at the significant level α = 0.05 = 2.26. In the hypothesis testing criteria it is stated that at tcount> ttable (3,25> 2.26) with α = 0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of under-wall passing practice on under-passing with variations of volleyball letters in women's volleyball athletes at the Medan TVRI club in 2021.

Volleyball and Basketball women’s have different performances from each other due to their special specifics of the game. From the specificity of their training, there are differences in the physical qualities of individual and team sports performance, where one of the elements is vertical jumping. This study is concentrated on two teams: Women’s Volleyball Team (V) and Women’s Basketball Team (B) 15 members each, focusing on 30 subjects. Players were measured in physical parameters; Age (V-24: B-27), Body Height (V-180.4cm; B-173.4cm), Body Weight (V-70.37kg; B-63.88kg), BMI (V-21.67 percent; B-20.93 percent). The players performed the test DJ60cm in the platform Leonardo® Ground Force Reaction Plate (GRFP) which expresses Force max (kN), Power max (w/kg), Time Contact (TCs), Air Time (TAs), TA/TCs. The results obtained by GRFP showed different team values of the two sports in the parameters of Fmax V65.19-B74.07n/kg, Pmax V31.26-B23.06w/kg, TCs V0.231-B0.198, TAs V0.436-B0.34 and TA/TCѕec V1.96ѕ-B1.71ѕec. Results revealed that V players jumped higher (p, 0.001) than B players. Finally, the Drop Jump60cm test has different performance between individual players, despite the fact that in the team average it turned out that Volleyball players is higher in this test. Drop Jump is the typical plyometric test. Furthermore, tests such as DJ can be a useful method for assessing differences and monitoring vertical jump training programs from collective sports.

Although absolute jump heights should be considered an important factor in judging the performance requirements of volleyball players, limited data is available on age-appropriate categories. The purpose of this study is to determine the differences in specific anthropometric characteristics and jumping performance variables in under−19 female volleyball players in relation to playing position and performance level. The sample of subjects consisted of 354 players who prepared for the U19 Women’s Volleyball European Championship 2020 (17.4 ± 0.8 years, 1.81 ± 0.07 m, 67.5 ± 7.1 kg). Playing positions analyzed were setters (n = 55), opposites (n = 37), middle blockers (n = 82), outside hitters (n = 137), and liberos (n = 43). The results showed player position differences in every performance level group in variables of body height, spike, and block jump. Observed differences are a consequence of highly specific tasks of different positions in the composition of the team. Players of different performance levels are significantly different, with athletes of higher-ranked teams achieving better results. The acquired data could be useful for the selection and profiling of young volleyball players.

The purpose of this paper was to quantify internal and external loads completed by collegiate volleyball athletes during a competitive season. Eleven players were sampled (using accelerometers and subjective wellness surveys) during the practice (n = 55) and game (n = 30) sessions over the 2019 season. Longitudinal data were evaluated for trends across the preseason, non-conference play, and conference play periods. Data were also analyzed with respect to positional groups. Longitudinal analysis of accelerometer data showed higher workload demand during practices than games. Positional group differences were most when evaluating jump count and height. Setters accrued over twice as many jumps in a practice than during a game and had similar overall jump counts in practice to attacking positions. Average team wellness values varied with time in the season, especially during times of congested travel. This is the first study to look at both game and practice workload and wellness measures in collegiate women's volleyball. The results suggest athlete monitoring can be used to understand the demands of volleyball and used in the future to enhance practice and recovery day design to optimize athlete well-being.

The purpose of this study was to identify the technical volleyball elements participating and contributing to the victory in the qualifying matches for the 2021 CEV European Men's and Women's Championship and lead to the best scoring position and qualification to the final stage. The sample consisted of the matches of the 8 teams (4 Men and 4 Women) who participated in the qualifying matches for the European Men's and Women's Championships Confédération Européenne de Volleyball (CEV) 2021. The data was analyzed using the official software of the European Confederation (CEV) (Data Volley 2 Professional). The data was then further analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 statistical package with the help of descriptive statistical analysis. Statistically significant differences were found between the teams that won and qualified for the European Championship of CEV 2021 in ‘‘reception error’’ and ‘‘attack error’’ and between the men's and women's volleyball teams in service error attack points. In addition, based on the results of this study, all coaches should focus and organize training with exercises related to these technical skills that lead to victory and qualification to improve the ability of their players to win the matches.

A wide body of research on team sports has focused on positional status based differences, providing information on inter-player variability according to the functional roles within the game. However, research addressing inter-player variability within the same positional/function status is scarce. The present article presents an analysis of inter-player variability within the same positional status during critical moments, in high-level women's volleyball, using Social Network Analysis. Attack actions of the outside hitters near (OHN) and away (OHA) from the setter were analysed in ten matches from the 2019 Volleyball Nations League Finals (268 plays). Two independent Eigenvector Centrality networks were created, one for OHN and another for OHA. Main results: (a) in side-out with ideal setting conditions, the OHA used more tips and exploration of the block than the OHN; under non-ideal setting conditions, the OHN had slower attack tempos than the OHA; (b) OHA used tip and directed attacks after error situations while OHN was typically not requested after error situations; (c) in transition, OHN typically attacked after having performed a previous action, performing a dual task within each ball possession, while OHA only attacked when there was no prior action; (d) there were also inter-positional similarities, with both OHN and OHA preferring a strong attack in ideal conditions during KI and KIV, and slower tempos in transition in non-ideal conditions. Conclusions: Even within the same positional status, there seems to be subtle, but relevant inter-player variability. Consequently, coaches should devote careful attention when assigning players to positional.

Context Women's volleyball is a globally popular sport with widespread participation at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) level. Background Routine examinations of NCAA women's volleyball injuries are important for recognizing emerging injury-related patterns in this population. Methods Exposure and injury data collected in the NCAA Injury Surveillance Program during the 2014–2015 through 2018–2019 athletic years were analyzed. Injury counts, rates, and proportions were used to describe injury characteristics, and injury rate ratios were used to examine differences in injury rates. Results The overall injury rate was 6.73 per 1000 athlete-exposures. Knee (14.6%) and ankle (13.8%) injuries accounted for the largest proportion of all reported injuries, and most injuries were attributed to overuse (26.1%) or noncontact (22.7%) mechanisms. Lateral ankle ligament complex tears (11.1%) and concussions (7.3%) were the most commonly reported specific injury. Summary Results indicate an increasing burden of practice-related injuries and the need to further examine overuse injuries. Lower-extremity injury prevention strategies and mechanisms of concussion also warrant further attention.
