PurposeThe role of sustainability is predominant in many aspects of consumer purchasing decisions. Millennials and young people are, in this field, potential players who buy and consume wine with ecosustainable decisions but, in the literature, these aspects are analyzed with nonuniform findings. This paper aims to investigate the wine consumption among young people belonging to the millennial generation, Y generation and Z generation considering also the gender.Design/methodology/approachThis study uses a questionnaire with 2000 respondents. The data are analyzed to understand consumption decisions in the wine sector. This information is analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics (hypothesis test and multiple regression).FindingsThe results of the paper show a clear propensity to be sustainable of the young generation compared with the elderly, highlighting the role of Millennials. Moreover, considering gender, there is a greater sustainable wine tendency (considering both the environmental and the economic/decisional component) in female compared with male.Research limitations/implicationsThis work reflects the Italian reality of the pre-COVID-19 period. Obviously, the pandemic situation and the geographic scenario analyzed could change the results of a second wave of the survey.Social implicationsThis study contributes to improve the knowledge concerning the wine consumption habits of Italian young generations.Originality/valueThe paper manages to underline the different aspects of sustainability in the wine purchasing decisions by young consumers by focusing on the considered generations.

Various approaches including hypothesis test and confidence interval (CI) construction have been proposed to assess non-inferiority and assay sensitivity via a known fraction or pre-specified margin in three-arm trials with continuous or discrete endpoints. However, there is little work done on the construction of the non-inferiority margin from historical data and simultaneous generalized CIs (SGCIs) in a three-arm trial with the normally distributed endpoints. Based on the generalized fiducial method and the square-and-add method, we propose two simultaneous CIs for assessing non-inferiority and assay sensitivity in a three-arm trial. For comparison, we also consider the Wald-type Bonferroni simultaneous CI and parametric bootstrap simultaneous CI. An algorithm for evaluating the optimal sample size for attaining the pre-specified power is given. Simulation studies are conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed CIs in terms of their empirical coverage probabilities. An example taken from the mildly asthmatic study is illustrated using the proposed simultaneous CIs. Empirical results show that the proposed generalized fiducial method and the square-and-add method behave better than other two compared CIs.

This research aims to test the effect of the kit Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) on the achievement of vocational school students' competencies in electrical motor control courses for form 3 students in Aceh, Indonesia. Constructivist theory and Bloom's Taxonomy are referenced in this study in relation to learning. While the ADDIE model is used in relation to product development. This study used a quasi -experimental design with pre- and post -tests. The population (N = 333) in this study was level 3 vocational students in Aceh, Indonesia. The number of samples was 98 people, consisting of the experimental group (n = 50) and the control group (n = 48) selected by cluster random technique. The instruments used in this study included pre- and post -test interview protocols. The values of the KR20 reliability coefficient of the question items on the knowledge aspect were 0.97 and 0.81 on the skills aspect. The results of the descriptive analysis found that the experimental group (mean = 64.08; SD = 4.548) showed better competency achievement than the control group (mean = 63.06; SD = 5.487). The result of hypothesis test using Mann Whitney test is [Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = .000, p <0.05] which means that the teaching aids developed have successfully had a positive effect in improving the achievement of student competencies. The implications of this study have produced a teaching aid that can be used as a template by teachers to build teaching aids that are more affordable, easy and safe to use so that they can be motivated to innovate in learning and become a new career opportunity. Given that the Covid-19 epidemic has affected face-to-face learning, the proposal for further research is the need to integrate logic control programming (PLC) learning aids into a technology-based learning trend. Researchers, on the other hand, suggest a broader scope of study whether teachers and students in a wider area and other fields of knowledge related to the utilization of PLC programming.

This study aims to know the factors that impact stock return with Market Price as the moderating variable of the banking company listed on the IDX from 2015 to 2020. The data is retrieved from idx.co.id. The population of this article is 43 banking companies, and to select the sample for this article has used purposive sampling and has selected 11 companies. The analysis method of this article has used descriptive statistics. The data has gone through BLUE (best linear unbiased estimator) test, such as normality test, autocorrelation test, multicollinearity test, and heteroscedasticity test before doing the hypothesis test. Further, the analysis data has used F-test, t-test, the equation of multiple linear regression, determination coefficient, and moderation. The study's findings are that, partially, LDR does not affect SR, ROA does not affect SR, and BOPO does not affect SR. PBV can not moderate the effect of LDR, ROA, and BOPO on stock return. The determination coefficient is 0.048 (4.8%), which means that the LDR, ROA, and BOPO have impacted SR as much as 4.8%, and the remaining is affected by other factors. The contribution of the research is to help the investors select the right stock.

This study aims to determine how the Effect of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and Liquidity on Profitability of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the 2015-2019 Period. The results of data processing using the SPSS 17 For Windows program resulted in multiple regression analysis with two independent variables and one dependent variable showing that Y = 1.108 +1.404X1 - 0.240 X2, meaning that profitability is influenced by Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and Liquidity. Furthermore, the results show that the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and Liquidity variables can explain the Profitability variable 36%, the remaining 64% is explained by other variables. The results of the hypothesis test state that: Hypothesis 1 is accepted, this can be seen from the value of tcount>ttable, then the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) has an effect on profitability. The second hypothesis is rejected, it can be seen from the value of tcountFtable, it is stated simultaneously that Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and Liquidity have an effect on Profitability.

Abstract. Geoelectric time series (TS) has long been studied for its potential for probabilistic earthquake forecasting, and a recent model (GEMSTIP) directly used the skewness and kurtosis of geoelectric TS to provide Time of Increased Probabilities (TIPs) for earthquakes in several months in future. We followed up on this work by applying the Hidden Markov Model (HMM) on the correlation, variance, skewness, and kurtosis TSs to identify two Hidden States (HSs) with different distributions of these statistical indexes. More importantly, we tested whether these HSs could separate time periods into times of higher/lower earthquake probabilities. Using 0.5-Hz geoelectric TS data from 20 stations across Taiwan over 7 years, we first computed the statistical index TSs, and then applied the Baum-Welch Algorithm with multiple random initializations to obtain a well-converged HMM and its HS TS for each station. We then divided the map of Taiwan into a 16-by-16 grid map and quantified the forecasting skill, i.e., how well the HS TS could separate times of higher/lower earthquake probabilities in each cell in terms of a discrimination power measure that we defined. Next, we compare the discrimination power of empirical HS TSs against those of 400 simulated HS TSs, then organized the statistical significance values from these cellular-level hypothesis testing of the forecasting skill obtained into grid maps of discrimination reliability. Having found such significance values to be high for many grid cells for all stations, we proceeded with a statistical hypothesis test of the forecasting skill at the global level, to find high statistical significance across large parts of the hyperparameter spaces of most stations. We therefore concluded that geoelectric TSs indeed contain earthquake-related information, and the HMM approach to be capable at extracting this information for earthquake forecasting.

Social media has been identified as a factor in adolescents' adoption of risky sexual behavior. This research is here to answer whether social media has a vertical effect on adopting risky sexual behavior, given the increasing number of influencers on the platform. We sought the connection of whether influencers can influence the dating standards of adolescents, which will end up contributing to the adoption of risky sexual behavior. As risky sexual behavior is becoming more prevalent in Makassar, we picked Makassar adolescents as our study object. We also compared urban and rural by including Maros adolescents. Data were collected data with an online survey. Four surveyors are employed to find targeted respondents: youth in their 15-18 years old. Respondents filled out an online questionnaire from September 7, 2020, to September 14, 2020. As many as 313 responses were valid, 50.5 percent of the respondents were domiciled in Makassar, and the remaining 49.5 percent came from Maros. Two out of three respondents are women (63.3 percent). A series of independent t-tests, and Andy F Hayes PROCESS scheme, were used to analyze the data. The independent t-test results showed that male urban adolescents are more likely to exhibit risky sexual behavior. The central hypothesis test results showed that social media influencers indirectly affect risky sexual behavior mediated by adolescent dating styles, answering the study's initial assumption.

The tax revenue in West Java has not fully realized and developed in accordance with the planned target. In line with reality, the employee performance in the Directorate General of Taxation should greatly determine the amount of tax revenue in West Java. Their performance can be measured based on the terms of quality, namely in achieving predetermined standards. While in the terms of quantity and responsibility, it can be measured based on their achievement on completion targets and following existing work procedures. This research method was carried out descriptively and verified. Assessment of scores on research variables is used as a descriptive method, while Path Analysis method is used both to aim and determine causality between research variables and hypothesis test. The descriptive result showed that Discipline, Compensation, Competency, Motivation, Commitment and Performance are categorized as ‘good’, but nonoptimal in their achievements. Verificative results showed that there are partially and simultaneously positive and significant effects between Discipline, Compensation, and Competency towards Motivation, both directly and indirectly. The most dominant effect on competency. Also, there are positive and significant effects between motivation and commitment towards employee performance in the West Java Regional I Office of Directorate General of Taxation.
