The increased usage of power-sensitive electronic devices has prompted interest in power conditioning solutions, which is no surprise. As a result, some type of compensation must be supplied if power output remains below the standards' prescribed limitations. The UPQC (Unified Power Quality Controller) is one of numerous AC Transmission System families that can control voltage, impedance, and phase angle among other factors (FACTS). This study focuses on modern UPFC systems that have increased power quality efficiency to help utilities reduce voltage concerns. One of the FACTS controls for lowering stress sales effects is a unified power quality conditioner (UPQC). The quadrature voltage is specified using the UPQC series compensator. As a result, the compensator series never utilizes active power in a continuous scenario. As mentioned in the approach, a low power rating compensator injects voltage to remedy the system's power quality problem. The voltage is decreased and the power factor is raised when the fluid logic controller is used in conjunction with traditional UPQC. Furthermore, the load factor has been improved. The circuit is then imitated in MATLAB / SIMULINK using a fluctuating logo controller.

Power quality became one of the most critical challenges in today’s modern power system. Utmost primary factors of power quality issues are non-linear fluctuating loads, system interruption, load variances, infrequent loads, and arc furnaces. As a matter of fact, there is occurrence of various electrical distortions, along with voltage spikes, voltage sags, and so forth. Several innovative techniques were employed for the development of circuits which resulted in minimised voltage stability as well as reliability.  Utility companies which are electrical are receiving a large quantity of complaints because of these challenges.  An approach is required now to explore the power quality challenges in industrial sector, corporate sector, municipal, or domestic sites. Therefore, a few techniques known as Flexible AC transmission system (FACTs) are used to enhance power quality. It is divided into two categories: namely series-FACTs and shunt-FACTS. As name itself define its architecture that in series-FACTS comprised of transmission line which is connected in series with module and connected in parallel in shun-FACTs.   We can alleviate the problems related to power quality with the help of these FACTS devices. D-STATCOM is one of the better devices available. D-STATCOM is a shunt-connected solid-state device employed at the distribution network to maintain load-side disturbances. It has exceeded the traditional capacitor being used improve power quality with it's lower upfront investment, outstanding dynamics, absence of static, and lower operational expenses. The sorts, architectural style, operating, control systems, and AI are all described in this article.

Abstract A high voltage protection system is designed to protect the system against the hazards like instant high voltage condition like lightening voltage in the rain, power variation in the transmission lines etc. In these conditions, our system may face a voltage twice and thrice greater than its original nominal ratings. In this paper, performance of four different relays (overcurrent relay, over and under voltage relay, distance relay and differential relay) have been calculated based on operating time in 400KV high voltage AC transmission line of 80-250km under different faults, modeled on MATLAB for the identification of different types of faults in a transmission line. These relays can differentiate between the normal operating condition and fault conditions. In this paper simulation comparison of these four relays is presented by comparing their operating time in Single line to ground fault (LG), three phase fault (LLLG) and Double phase to ground fault (LLG). The output waveforms are observed under the normal condition or no-fault condition and in the fault condition and response time is calculated to operate a circuit breaker.

Abstract Electrical system frequently finds and issue due to unstable nature and power quality because of, in relation to great number of nonlinear charges. So, there is need to limit inside of these difficulties and produce fine voltage quality concerns. The Flexible Alternate Flow Transmission Systems (FACTS) are the framework made out of static gear works for the AC transmission of electrical energy. Unified_Power_Flow Controls (UPFC) are the excellent FACTS tools to attach series and shunt together and it could use for framing Power transmission sensitive and active power. Here in the paper, Unified Power Flow Control (UPFC) used to clear the voltage sink and Surge. Unified Control was developed and engineered using amplifiers and rectifiers. The real and reactive modifications in congruous control orientations at the receiver side. Use of Simulink of MATLAB checks quality of energy in the use of Unified Control.

Abstract Flexible FACTS system of AC transmission. FACTS Devices can regulate electricity flow, develop the transmission capacity for power management. UPFC is a multipurpose fact controller carried on design of the constant voltage source. As an electrical device UPFC for rapid reactive power adjustment on high voltage electricity transport grid. Unified power flow control (UPFC). The latest FACTS gadget is UPFC. This combines series and shunting compensator characteristics and enables Power reactive and response to be controlled. UPFC utilization reduces difficulties in power quality including voltage sink and voltage surge. This article addresses UPFC and also several novel topologies for FACTS controllers.
