Consumers perceive organic vegetables as better in taste and quality compared to conventional vegetables. Therefore, this study aims to determine the sensory difference of choy sum (Brassica chinensis L. var. parachinensis) grown with organic fertiliser and mineral fertiliser without the input of synthetic pesticides. A survey was carried out to determine Malaysian consumer sensory perception on organic and conventional leafy vegetables. The choy sum was planted in a Complete Randomised Block Design (CRBD), with input of organic fertiliser (T1, rate: 1500kg/4046m2) and mineral fertiliser (T2, rate: 63kg/4046m2) in a 7-day interval. It was harvested for sensory evaluation at maturity. Seventy-five untrained panellists were selected for the sensory test. The moisture content was analysed using oven drying method, while the sugar and colour analysis was carried out using a brix refractometer and a spectrophotometer, respectively. The survey confirmed that most consumers believe that the sensory attributes of organic vegetables are better than conventional vegetables. However, sensory evaluation shows that there is no significant difference (P > 0.05) in all sensory attributes tested except for greenness. T2 were significantly greener (P < 0.05) than T1. There were also no significant differences (P > 0.05) found between the treatments in the sugar, moisture and colour analysis.

In World War II, female volunteers participated in the work of delivering food to soldiers. The idea of food service delivery spread from the UK to the United States, and food delivery has become a new business model worldwide. In 1987, Pizza Hut began to order by phone and provide food delivery services to capture market share. With the development of the internet and the popularity of smartphone, online ordering and online food delivery (OFD) have become a trend, lifestyle and multibillion-dollar business. In 2017, Malaysia's online food delivery boomed. There are numerous food ordering service platforms on the market, including FoodPanda, Uber Eats (now changed to GrabFood), Honestbee, Dahmakan, DeliverEat, Running Man Delivery, etc. Hence, this research aims to identify factors that continue to influence Malaysian consumer satisfaction with online food delivery after the COVID-19 pandemic and in the future. The results show that perceived price, promotion & discount, convenience motivation, service approach quality, and food quality positively impact the trend factors of OFD services. These findings can provide essential insights for OFD service providers, the restaurant industry and academics, critical for OFD services to improve consumer satisfaction.

We investigate if Malaysian listed companies engaged in financial information fraud during financial distressed after two years of US subprime mortgage crisis.We also investigate the impact of financial information fraudulence in bankruptcy prediction and misclassification errors. This study used consumer product companies listed on the main board and the timeframe is from 2011 till 2015. The Altman Z score indicates that 37 out of 133 Malaysian consumer product companies are financially distressed. Meanwhile, the M score shows that 28 out of 224observations are engaged in financial information fraudulence. However, these results are relatively low because the samples are taken from the main board and fraudulence in their financial statements might be done in lower magnitude in order to avoid sanctions by the Security Exchange Commission. Logistic regression was used to measure the predicting accuracy. The result of the overall accuracy percentage slightly improved by 0.9 after eliminating fraudulent companies. The confusion matrix result i.e. before and after the removal of financial information fraudulent companies, the misclassification errors especially type one has improved. This finding satisfied objective three, whereby one of the reasons for the deterioration in financial distress prediction is due to the upward bias of financial information fraudulence.Governments, monitoring bodies, and all those involved in an insolvency process would benefit from this study.

This paper investigates the factors influencing Malaysian consumer intention toward takaful scheme for mental health disorders. An applied expanded Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) model were used in the research and the variables of awareness, perception, attitude, subjective norm and intention toward a takaful scheme for mental health disorders were investigated. It is a pilot research carried out in Malaysia. The respondents are 60 Malaysian takaful consumers based on an online survey inside Klang Valley, Malaysia. This study reveals that the mean of attitude with the score of 4.27 is the highest score. The Pearson correlation is positive for both independent and dependent variables. Analysis of regression indicates a strong positive relationship between subjective norm and intention, thus suggesting that subjective norm is an important area to link to intention against mental health disorder takaful scheme. This is also proposed that future studies will concentrate on the factors that affect the willingness of consumers towards takaful mental health disorder schemes. It is hoped that the results of this study will serve as an informative reference for further development of takaful scheme for mental health disorder.

Consumers faced with contract do not know what 'small print' contains or understand its effect. Exclusion clauses may deprive a consumer of specific rights in which he deserves protection. The Consumer Protection Act 1999 in Malaysia, allows the consumers to identify between procedural unfairness and substantive unfairness. However, the Consumer Protection Act 1999 does not adequately protect the consumer. By applying the content analysis research method, this paper reviews the legislative and judicial intervention on unfair terms in consumer contracts. This article advocates that Malaysia should establish a specific framework on consumer law protection against unfair terms in consumer contracts.
