Although spindle cell lipoma (SCL) is a subtype of lipoma, the characteristics of SCL are observed in both lipomatous and non-lipomatous tumors. In this article, we present a case of SCL with ossification mimicking atypical lipomatous tumors/well-differentiated liposarcomas (ALTs/WDLs). Considering the findings of magnetic resonance imaging and needle biopsy, which exhibited ALTs/WDLs, marginal resection was performed. Histopathological findings demonstrated mature adipocytes and spindle cells without atypia and no malignant osteoid tissue in the ossified region. In addition, immunohistochemistry (IHC) showed positive staining for CD34, heterogeneous retinoblastoma protein deficiency, and negative staining for mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2) and cyclin-dependent kinase. Fluorescence in-situ hybridization showed negative amplification of MDM2. The final diagnosis of the tumor was established using IHC as an extremely rare SCL with ossification.

ABSTRACT: Two young opossums were necropsied and diagnosed with rickets. This study aims to describe the clinical-pathological aspects of rickets in Didelphis albiventris. Macroscopically, the opossums presented kyphosis and scoliosis, lateral deviation of the limbs in varus, locomotion difficulty, and enlargement with softening of costochondral junctions (rickety rosary). Samples of bones and joints were processed for hematoxylin and eosin staining and Masson’s trichrome. Microscopically, we observed thickening of the epiphyseal plate, characterized by irregular and multifocal proliferation of serialized and hypertrophic cartilage zones, which formed circular groups of large, dysplastic chondrocytes towards the spongy zone, often surrounded by non-mineralized osteoid tissue. In the cortical bone, there were pale eosinophilic zones around the Havers channels consistent with non-mineralized osteoid. The staining of Masson’s trichrome evidenced the accumulation of osteoid tissue in cortical and trabecular bones. It is possible that a mixed cause of absorption deficiency of vitamin D3 associated with an unbalanced Ca:P diet based on lactose-free milk and fruits may have triggered the disease.

Aneurysmal Bone Cyst (ABC) is a Benign tumor, Also known as Giant Cell Repetative Granuloma, They are locally destructive hemorrhagic benign cystic legion. According to the definition of the WHO Aneurismal Bone Cyst is expanding osteolytic lesion consisting of blood-filled spaces of variable size and that are separated by connective tissue septae containing trabecula of bone or osteoid tissue and osteoclast giant cells. We report a case of a giant aneurysmal bone cyst in the Middle one-third of Right humerus of a 16 -year-old boy, which was treated with Allograft, Autograft and ender's nail fixation. At 6 Years of follow up Patient regain a pain-free complete Range of motion with radiographically subside of legion.

Osteosarcoma of jaw is a rare malignant condition of osteoid tissue with same histopathological features but different biological behaviour compared to long bone. It has characteristic clinical, radiographic and histopathologic features and treatment after early diagnosis followed by surgery (with negative margin) combined with chemotherapy or radiotherapy has better prognosis and survival rate. Here we report the case of osteosarcoma of mandible after tooth extraction in a 55-year-old female and treated by surgery

Anorganic bovine bone mineral matrix (ABBMM) has been reported to have osteoconductive properties and no inflammatory or adverse responses when used as grafting material in sinus augmentation procedures. However, controversy remains in regard to degradation rate of ABBMM. The aim of this study was to histologically and histomorphometrically evaluate the degradation of ABBMM in human bone samples obtained in one patient 24 months after sinus augmentation. Materials and Methods: The histologic and histomorphometric analysis was performed by means of light microscopy in three specimens harvested from the same patient, Results: After 24 months the tissue pattern appeared to be composed of residual particles, some in close contact with the newly formed bone, others separated by translucent areas and osteoid tissues. Newly-formed bone presented different levels of maturation and numerous osteocytes, with greater numbers in bone closer to the grafted particles (27.3% vs. 11.2%, p < 0.05). The histomorphometric analysis showed mean values of 40.84% newly-formed bone, 33.58% residual graft material, 23.84% marrow spaces, and 1.69% osteoid tissue, Conclusions: Even though ABBMM underwent considerable resorption, a great amount of residual grafting material was still present after two years of healing following sinus augmentation. This study confirms that the bovine grafts can be classified as long-term degradation materials.

Abstract: Osteosarkoma is defined as a neoplasma in which the osteoid tissue is synthesized by malignant cells. It belongs to the most frequent nonhemapoietic skeletal malignancy with a bimodal age distribution. The causes are still unknown, however, a variety of agents and diseases are related to the development of this disease. Early signs and symptoms are not specific, mostly manifests as pain with or without palpable mass. Around 5-10% of cases undergone pathological fractures. Most osteosarcoma tumor develop in the distal part of femur in the metaphysis. Hematogen metastasis often occurs at the early stage of this disease mostly to lungs and bones. Radiological examination is important in early evaluation of osteosarcoma. Morphologically, there are several types of osteosarcoma. The most frequent type is osteosarcoma in the long bone metaphysis, primary, intramedullary, with high gradation of osteoblasts. Macroscopically, it manifests as a big, sandy, whitish grey tumor, which is often with bleeding areas and cysts; meanwhile, microscopically it varies. Malignant osteoblasts that produce osteoid matrix is the diagnostic tool. The prognosis of such cases depends on the tumor size, necrosis degree, dissemination to cortex and soft tissue, and metastasis. A teenager with a painful mass around the knee has to undergo further examination for early detection of osteosarcoma. Keywords: osteosarcoma, osteoblastAbstrak: Osteosarkoma didefinisikan sebagai suatu neoplasma dimana jaringan osteoid disintesis oleh sel ganas.
