Purpose. To assess the accuracy of blood pressure measurement by oscillometric and auscultatory methods using the complex for daily monitoring of ECG and blood pressure «Medicom-Combi» in accordance with the criteria outlined in the Universal Standard AAMI/SH/ISO (ISO 81060-2:2018) for children and adults.Materials and methods. The study involved 90 patients (average age -33.8 ± 26.7 years) of the cardiological profile of the City Clinical Hospital No. 13 DZM, Children’s City Clinical Hospital No. 9 named after G. N. Speransky, as well as medical personnel, of which 85 were included in the analysis. For each participant, 3 pairs of valid measurements were obtained (reference-test, 255 pairs of measurements in total). Reference measurements were carried out by two experts, independently of each other, using the auscultatory method. Test measurements were read from the complex by a third expert.Results. According to validation criterion 1, the mean ± standard deviation of differences between test and reference measurements was 0.1 ± 6.0/1.7 ± 5.8 mm Hg for SBP/DBP by the oscillometric method and 0.0 ± 6.5/1.3 ± 6.6 mm Hg for SBP/DBP by the auscultatory method. According to validation criterion 2, the standard deviation of the average difference between the BP values of the same patient according to the results of test and reference measurements did not exceed 6.95/6.73 for SBP/DBP by the oscillometric method and 6.95/6.82 mm Hg for SBP/DBP by the auscultatory method.Conclusion. The complex for daily monitoring of ECG and blood pressure «Medicom-Combi» meets the requirements of the Universal Standard AAMI/ESH/ISO in terms of measurement accuracy for devices intended for use among children and adults when assessing blood pressure by oscillometric and auscultatory methods.

Objectives: We aimed to validate the accuracy of blood pressure (BP) measurement using a smartwatch in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD).Materials and Methods: We compared 168 pairs of BP (n = 56) measurements acquired by a smartwatch (SM-R850) with those measured by a sphygmomanometer (reference device). Results: Differences between the smartwatch BP and reference BP measurements were compared. The mean and standard deviation of the differences systolic BP (SBP) and diastolic BP (DBP), measured by smartwatch and reference device, fulfilled both criterion 1 (0.4 ± 4.6 and 1.1 ± 4.5 mm Hg for DBP and SBP, respectively) and criterion 2 (0.2 ± 2.5 and 0.9 ± 2.4 mm Hg for DBP and SBP, respectively) of the BP validation criterion of the International Organization for Standardization. Conclusion: BP measurement using a smartwatch with a photoplethysmography sensor is an accurate and reliable method in patients with PD.

This study aimed to adapt a repeated high-intensity effort (RHIE) test to the rugby union physical demands and assess both sprint time and tackle indices reliability. Following a familiarization session, sixteen elite rugby union players completed two RHIE tests consisting of 12 × 20 m sprint + tackle. Total sprint time and total g-force during tackling, average sprint time and average g-force as well as percentage decrementsprint time and percentage decrementtackle were considered for the analysis. Sprint time indices showed high to very high absolute and relative reliability (intraclass coefficient correlation (ICC) = 0.95, Standard Error Measurement (SEM) = 1.30%; ICC = 0.95, SEM = 1.44%; ICC = 0.73, SEM = 23.0%, for total sprint time, average sprint time and percentage decrementsprint time, respectively). Tackle indices showed moderate to high reliability (ICC = 0.54, SEM = 16.5%; ICC = 0.61, SEM = 15.6%; ICC = 0.71, SEM = 12.3%, for total g-force, average g-force and percentage decrementtackle, respectively). The RHIE test provides reliable measures of sprint time and tackle indices. Tackle indices should be used as a validation criterion of the test, whereas total time should be considered as the test final result.

This work uses non-hierarchical grouping methods to evaluate the quality of the groups formed by plate cisterns according to some water quality variables. These methods use the cluster validation criterion to determine the optimal partition, which provides the most homogeneous groups possible. The methods were tested on a sample of 100 cisterns located in the Pajeú region. However, the non-hierarchical clustering method of ‘K-medoid’ formed more homogeneous groups, and thus the best performance according to the Silhouette [s (i) = 0.64] statistics.

This paper proposes an alternative procedure for detecting outliers in meta-regression using the penalized maximum likelihood with smoothly clipped absolute deviation penalty function. The coordinate descent algorithm is implemented to estimate the parameters where the cross-validation criterion is used to determine the tuning parameter. Extensive simulation experiments demonstrate the usefulness of our proposed procedure as well as its improved power performance compared to previous procedures. Simulation results demonstrate that the performance has a direct relationship with the number of studies and an inverse relationship with the heterogeneity between studies. An illustrative application with real data, implementing the proposed procedure and others, is given.

Singular spectrum analysis (SSA) is a non-parametric forecasting and filtering method that has many applications in a variety of fields such as signal processing, economics and time series analysis. One of the four steps of the SSA, which is called the grouping step, plays a pivotal role in the SSA because reconstruction and forecasting of results are directly affected by the outputs of this step. Usually, the grouping step of SSA is time consuming as the interpretable components are manually selected. An alternative more optimized approach is to apply automatic grouping methods. In this paper, a new dissimilarity measure between two components of a time series that is based on various matrix norms is first proposed. Then, using the new dissimilarity matrices, the capabilities of different hierarchical clustering linkages are compared to identify appropriate groups in the SSA grouping step. The performance of the proposed approach is assessed using the corrected Rand index as validation criterion and utilizing various real-world and simulated time series.

Furazolidon is one of antibacterial nitrofuran derivate used in prawn cultivation. Existence of residue furazolidon in prawn can cause the carcinogenic effect, toxic effect, allergic reaction, and also improve the resistancy when it is consumed in along term. In this research were done validating method and determining of concentration of   furazolidon residue in a various type of prawn used the High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with the column of Phenomenex type Hypersil 5 µ m C18 (ODS) 25 cm, Φ 4.60 mm, loop 500 µl, detector UV λ at 366 nm, asetonitril : acetic acid 1% = 20-100 : 80-0 as mobile phase during 8 minutes, flow-rate 1.0 mL/minute, temperature 30.3 oC, pressured 3.6 – 9.8 psi. The results of the validation method analyze were met the validation criterion i.e., selectivity, linearity, accuracy, precision, LOD and LOQ. The residues concentration of furazolidon in prawn samples of Penaeus vanamei from Market A were 8.56x10-3 mg/100 g, while  the residues of  furazolidon in samples of prawn of Penaeus vanamei from Market of B, Metapenaeus monoceros from Market C, and Penaeus monodon from Market D were not found.
