Abstract Bi-adjoint scalars are helpful in studying properties of color/kinematics duality and the double copy, which relates scattering amplitudes of gauge and gravity theories. Here we study bi-adjoint scalars from a worldline perspective. We show how a global G × $$ \overset{\sim }{G} $$ G ~ symmetry group may be realized by worldline degrees of freedom. The worldline action gives rise to vertex operators, which are compared to similar ones describing the coupling to gauge fields and gravity, thus exposing the color/kinematics interplay in this framework. The action is quantized by path integrals to find a worldline representation of the one-loop QFT effective action of the bi-adjoint scalar cubic theory. As simple applications, we recover the one-loop beta function of the theory in six dimensions, verifying its vanishing, and compute the self-energy correction to the propagator. The model is easily extendable to that of a particle carrying an arbitrary representation of direct products of global symmetry groups, including the multi-adjoint particle, whose one-loop beta function we reproduce as well.

In this article we consider the partitioned fixed linear model F : y = X1β1 + X2β2 + ε" and the corresponding mixed model M : y =X1β1+X2u+ ε, where ε is a random error vector and u is a random effect vector. In 2006, Isotalo, M¨ols, and Puntanen found conditions under which an arbitrary representation of the best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE) of an estimable parametric function of β1 in the fixed model F remains BLUE in the mixed model M . In this paper we extend the results concerning further equalities arising from models F and M.

AbstractFor an arbitrary representation ρ of a complex finite-dimensional Lie algebra, we construct a collection of numbers that we call the Jordan–Kronecker invariants of ρ. Among other interesting properties, these numbers provide lower bounds for degrees of polynomial invariants of ρ. Furthermore, we prove that these lower bounds are exact if and only if the invariants are independent outside of a set of large codimension. Finally, we show that under certain additional assumptions our bounds are exact if and only if the algebra of invariants is freely generated.

Kata Kunci : wabah, Cerita Calon Arang, Tjerita Nji Paina, feminisme Abstract One of the disasters that hit humanity is the plague. Several times the plague was also experienced by the Indonesian people. This qualitative research provides a picture of the plague in modern Indonesian literature. The data in this study were sourced from the novel Cerita Calon Arang Arang (Pramodya Ananta Toer, 2003) and Tjerita Nyi Paina (H. Kommer, 2003). The findings of this study concluded that the outbreak did not only cause suffering but also the death of many people. With the theory  literature of feminism, it can be revealed that the plague in both stories is an instrument of resistance to the hegemony of power. The female characters in the two stories, Calon Arang in Pramodya's work and Nyi Paina in H. Kommer's work experienced the same problem of unpleasant treatment due to patriarchy. With the plague, Calon Arang took revenge on the people in the country of Daha so they suffered from jaundice which caused much suffering and even death. Meanwhile, Nyi Paina through the smallpox singer who was plagued at that time took revenge on Mr. Briot who was an arbitrary representation of the ruler. Keywords: plague, Cerita Calon Arang, Tjerita Nji Paina, feminism

Abstract. Without additional prior information, the pose of a camera estimated with computer vision techniques is expressed in a local coordinate frame attached to the camera’s initial location. Albeit sufficient in many cases, such an arbitrary representation is not convenient for employment in certain applications and has to be transformed to a coordinate system external to the camera before further use. Assuming a camera that is firmly mounted on a moving platform, this paper describes a method for continuously tracking the pose of that camera in a projected coordinate system. By combining exterior orientation from a known target with incremental pose changes inferred from accurate multi-GNSS positioning, the full 6 DoF pose of the camera is updated with low processing overhead and without requiring the continuous visual tracking of ground control points. Experimental results of applying the proposed method to a moving vehicle and a mobile port crane are reported, demonstrating its efficacy and potential.

This paper presents an acoustic study of the speech of Polish leaners of English. The experiment was concerned with English sequences of the type George often, in which a word-final voiced obstruent was followed by a word-initial vowel. Acoustic measurements indicated the degree to which learners transferred Polish-style glottalization on word-initial vowels into their L2 speech. Temporal parameters associated with the production of final voiced obstruents in English were also measured. The results suggest that initial glottalization may be a contributing factor to final devoicing errors. Adopting English-style ‘liaison’ in which the final obstruent is syllabified as an onset to the initial vowel is argued to be a useful goal for English pronunciation syllabi. The implications of the experiment for phonological theory are also discussed. A hierarchical view of syllabic structures proposed in the Onset Prominence environment allows for the non-arbitrary representation of word boundaries in both Polish and English.

AbstractNathanson constructed asymptotic bases for the integers with prescribed representation functions, then asked how dense they can be. We can easily obtain an upper bound using a simple argument. In this paper, we will see this is indeed the best bound when we prescribe an arbitrary representation function.
