Diabetes mellitus is rising to an alarming epidemic level. Pre-diabetes (intermediate hyperglycemia) is a high-risk state for diabetes that is defined by glycemic variables that are higher than normal, but lower than diabetes thresholds. It stems up in persons who are physically inactive, obese, takes more kaphakara medokara abhishyandi ahara. Diabetes if not treated can cause a severe burden on society. The rising prevalence is closely associated with urbanization because of increasing obesity and inclination towards fast food. For pre-diabetic individuals, lifestyle modification is the cornerstone of diabetes prevention. Physical activity and decreased calorie intake can reduce the occurrence of Diabetes. So an attempt was made to find out the efficacy of Amalaki swarasa and haridra churna with madhu in pre-diabetes (borderline diabetes) Key words: Pre-Diabetes, Amalaki, Haridra, Madhu, Borderline Diabetes Mellitus.

It is important to get good dietary advice such as a daily value of exogenous glucose intake to keep blood glucose within reasonable range for everyone, especially for those with diabetes mellitus or with borderline diabetes mellitus. In this paper, two novel glucose-insulin models with impulsive glucose intake are considered to investigate the significance of diet to the glucose-insulin system. For the first model, we prove the positiveness, boundedness, and permanence of the solutions and then the existence and stability of the periodic solutions are demonstrated. For the second model, we consider the insulin secretion delay based on the first model. The sufficient delay-dependent conditions which determine the stability of the periodic solution are also obtained. In addition, the theoretical results are verified by numerical simulation. The results can give people some dietary advice how to prevent diabetes, and also, the intake amount and frequency of the exogenous glucose from diet are recommended for diabetic patients to assist in the treatment of diabetes.

POEMS syndrome is a rare multi-system condition that arises from an underlying plasma cell disorder. We report a case of a 69-year-old lady who presented with symptoms of exertional breathlessness and leg swelling, and a recent history of peripheral neuropathy, borderline diabetes mellitus and monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS).  The development of worsening right heart failure, which remained refractory despite diuretic therapy, pulmonary hypertension, organomegaly, hypothyroidism, chronic kidney disease, right pleural effusion and ascites, did not lead to a definitive diagnosis until cutaneous abnormalities were recognised.  A presumptive diagnosis of POEMS was subsequently confirmed with the finding of raised serum levels of VEGF and bone marrow histopathology. Our case highlights the complex nature of this multi-system syndrome, the potential for delayed diagnosis and the importance of an integrated sub-specialty approach to management.
