Abstract In order to realize the fast establishment of power fiber circuitous channels, the reliability of power communication optical cable network is guaranteed. An optical matrix 8X8 protection device is designed by using all-optical switcher. The test results show that at the end of each input light path, any 8 paths can be switched, it can achieve 1:8 protection switch, realized the arbitrary switching of three modes and has the function of remote fiber route scheduling.

To find out the need for fiber optic access network devices from NOC to rooms at Udayana University, Sudirman Campus, fiber to the home network design was made with Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology. Selection of GPON technology to reduce the number of ports on OLT and the number of fiber cores compared to the existing technology using point to point. Assuming the bitrate in each room is 21 Mbps and 291 rooms to be served, it takes 5 OLT ports on the NOC. Feeder Cable Network consists of 5 cores distributed to each location using 3 units of 1: 4 splitter, 4 units of 1: 8 splitter, 6 units of 1:16 splitter, 1:32 splitter of 6 units. To maintain service quality, 16 amplifiers are needed. The required fiber cable length is 2.5 km. The quality of service is tested using the Optisystem simulator. The result is that at the closest distance the PRx value is -14.059 dBm, with BER 6.13608 e-103, Q Factor 21.511. Meanwhile, at the farthest distance, the PRx value is -14.105 dBm, with BER of 1.52751 e-120, and Q Factor 23.3159. The results obtained still meet the ITU-T G.984.2 standard

This chapter offers a descriptive view of cable temporality from the perspective of network operators and those involved in system maintenance and repair. Examining the “soft temporalities” of these operators’ labor, the chapter illustrates a tension at the heart of media’s infrastructures: in many places, slowness, stability, embeddedness, and fixity of infrastructures are what enable speed and acceleration. After describing the “grounded speed” of the cable network, the chapter turns to the phenomemon of temporal irruptions: moments when the assemblage of temporal processes that enable network operation and network speed suddenly and radically changes the network.

An important and urgent task is the calculation and choice of selective relay protection, which allows to ensure safe conduct of work in the conditions of mountain quarries. In the work, on the example of mountain quarry, the calculations were carried out for ensuring electrical safety of the consumers in case of emergency modes occurrence due to the appearance of short-circuit currents. At the same time, short-circuit currents in a 6 kV network, maximum current protection and current cut-off were determined, a selectivity map of protection operation was drawn up. Calculations show that with the correct protection settings, the required sensitivity coefficient is ensured in case of the short circuits at any point in the network. The selectivity map of relay protection is drawn up for a normal scheme, in which sectional switches are off at all the voltage levels. The inclusion of these switches does not affect the choice of the protection operation current, and only increases the sensitivity coefficient of the current protection and earth-fault protection. When arranging power supply schemes for the consumers, it is recommended: not to connect more than two consumers of EKG-4.6 or PKTP-400/6 type to the feeder supplying EKG-8; do not connect more than four consumers of EKG-4.6 or PKTP-400/6 type to a separate feeder; 6 kV quarry network and the boiler should be powered from different busbar sections of KRU-2 complete switchgear; it is advisable to have a cable network length of at least 5–6 km from one section of 6 kV KRU-2 busbars, which will increase the reliability of protection against single-phase earth-faults.

At Present, many schools have used wireless networks that are used to support wired networks. Cable network is used as an amplifier of access point to make internet access for users. The problems of networking using these cables can be a major constraint to inaccessible places that can reduce the flexibility of usage. The solution for this problem is to develop and implement Wireless Distribution System (WDS) on the access point. WDS is a system to develop wireless internet network without having to use cable as backbone for access point but to take advantage of wireless network path from access point. The parameters used in the WDS system are the parameters of jitter, througput, delay and packet loss. WDS performance can be analyzed so that will be known comparison of access point performance results with cable backbone
