Abstract The paper presents a simple and low-cost fiber-optic sensor for detection of UV radiation. A sensor construction consists of a silica capillary with a photoactive composition based on an organic phosphor, organic solvent and epoxyacrylate inside and a multimode optical fiber in contact with each other. By adjusting the proportion of components in a photoactive composition, it is possible to obtain a pronounced optical signal at wavelength near 440 nm which is the luminescence emission wavelength of the chosen organic phosphor. The potential of using the construction as a UV sensor is confirmed by the linear dependence of the optical signal amplitude at the fiber output on the optical power supplied to the fiber input.

Phenotypic correlations were determined between fiber yield and some economic traits in ten lines of medium-fiber cotton Gossypium hirsutum grown in three different regions of Uzbekistan. It is noted that there is a direct relationship of average strength between the fiber yield and the length of the growing season. KEYWORDS: cotton, phenotype, correlation, fiber yield, growing season length, fiber quality, productivity

The data on the study of three groups of ML-180 mutant line plants with different degree of seeds pubescence and fiber output are presented in this article. It is been shown that the feathery cotton have the highest fiber output. The average fiber output was 40.3%. The average fiber output of the group of gymnosperm plants with a slight pubescence on micropile was 36.9%. The absolutely gymnosperm plants had the lowest fiber output. The average fiber output of these plants was 27.9%.

Multiple laser beams and single-mode optical fibers output can be approximated by assuming that the emitted light has a symmetrical Gaussian intensity profile, which corresponds to the transverse electromagnetic mode (TEM00), which is designated as a Gaussian beam. Current free-accessible design tools are limited to the spatial analysis of the beams, in general, and to the intensity, in particular, and to the graphical visualization in 2D with very limited options. In this work, a novel a computer-aided laser-fiber output beam TEM00 designer, CATEM00, is presented based on the 3D representations typically provided by camera beam profilers, and on the fundamentals of the wave theory of light, including diverse flexibility capabilities for graphical manipulation and parameter comprehension both in terms of spatial behavior and in angular confinement. It must be highlighted that not only is the spatial limitation design of light impact relevant in TEM00 applications but, also, the angle with which the light reaches the target. Hence, the availability of capabilities of phase design in TEM00 following the paraxial limitations is highly convenient. Results and discussion in terms of intensity, power, divergence and wave fronts are presented considering a set of study cases, showing its coherence with Gaussian beam theory.

The article presents the results of studies on the identification of competitive flax varieties of domestic selection for fiber output in the processing of flax under production conditions at flax processing enter-prises in comparison with the varieties of foreign selection cultivated in the Russian Federation. A com-parative analysis is carried out of flax technological value of domestic and foreign selection on the basis of ``total fiber yield`` when dividing flax into two groups according to quality: low quality (numbers 0.50 – 0.75) and high quality (number 1,00 or more). With this division, there is no clear advantage of the compared set of the two groups. A more detailed differentiated analysis (across the entire quality scale of flax seed) with a rating of varieties showed that domestic varieties are characterized by a higher fiber yield (average index 14,7) than foreign ones (average index 16,7). The degree of realization of the poten-tial opportunities which inherent in the varieties, both domestic and foreign selection for the fiber yield in the processing of flax under industrial conditions. The best and worst varieties are assessed to unleash the potential for the release of fiber from low – quality and high – quality flax. The best varieties include: (low – quality flax) Universal, Alexandrite, Alexim, Tomsky -18, Tomsky-17, Lenok, Smolich of domestic selection (the potential manifests itself at 76,9 – 88,7%). At 87,3 – 98,0 the potential for the yield of fiber from higher quality flax seed is realized in the varieties Tomsky -18, Tomsky-17, Alexandrite, Toast, Uni-versal, Diplomat of domestic selection and the variety of foreign selection Praleska.

The research explores the linen flax varieties of domestic selection. These varieties are seen to be promising from the standpoint of fibre output obtained when processing flax trust in industrial conditions at the flax processing enterprises. The linen flax varieties were compared with the varieties of the foreign selection cultivatedRussia. The authors compared technological value of flax trust of domestic and foreign selection on the basis of “total fiber yield” when dividing flax trust into two groups of quality: low-quality (number 0,50-0,75) and high-quality (number 1,00 and more). There was no evident advantage observed. The detailed analysis (complete assessment scale of flax trust quality) and assessment of varieties indicate that domestic varieties are characterized by higher fiber output (average index is 14.7) than foreign varieties (average index is 16.7). The paper estimates the capacities potential of domestic and foreign selections for fiber output when processing flax trust in industrial conditions. The authors outline the highest and lowest parameters of fibre output produced from the flax trust of low quality and high quality have been identified. The most promising varieties are seen as follows: Universal, Alexandrite, Alexim, Tomskiy 18, Tomskiy 17, Lenok, Smolich of domestic selection (the capacities potential is 76,9 - 88,7%). The authors observed 87.3% -98.0% capacities potential for fiber output from flax trust of higher quality in the following varieties: Tomskiy 18, Tomskiy 17, Alexandrite, Tost, Universal, Diplomat of domestic selection and Pralesk of foreign selection. The authors found out that flax-fibre of domestic selection is the most efficient for flax trust output in the industrial conditions.
