Finite element data form an important basis for engineers to undertake analysis and research. In most cases, it is difficult to generate the internal sections of finite element data and professional operations are required. To display the internal data of entities, a method for generating the arbitrary sections of finite element data based on radial basis function (RBF) interpolation is proposed in this paper. The RBF interpolation function is used to realize arbitrary surface cutting of the entity, and the section can be generated by the triangulation of discrete tangent points. Experimental studies have proved that the method is very convenient for allowing users to obtain visualization results for an arbitrary section through simple and intuitive interactions.

Foreign travelers arrived in large numbers in Mexico, especially after Mexican War of Independence, to see the country and access its commercial potential. Each of them talked about the Valley of Mexico, its richness and human diversity. The way these travelers wrote about their “gazes” over this valley—in particular Fanny Calderón de la Barca—is key to understanding the politics of their trips. After their initial viewing, foreign travelers described the Mexican social and political situation as ripe for exploitation and improvement. Despite the fact that these travel accounts consider only an arbitrary section of the Mexican reality, affected by the bias and life history of each writer, they offer valuable material in their portrayal of Mexican society at that time. Hernán Cortés and Alexander von Humboldt’s views of the Mexican Valley were highly influential for the subsequent foreign travelers who went to Mexico during the 19th century, mainly from the United Kingdom, central Europe, and the United States. The work of Fanny Calderón de la Barca, and her gaze as it falls upon the Valley of Mexico, reflect the politics of mid-19th-century Mexico.

To study the unsteady fluid motion in a tubing string, when it is pumped, the classical equation of hydraulic impact is solved at the first stage. The solution was carried out by separating the variables taking into account all real initial and boundary conditions. The problem of distributing the hydraulic impact of a viscous liquid in a tubing string from the operation of impulse devices at the bottom of a well as a homogeneous system in which all processes occurring during fluid injection are interrelated. As a result, expressions were obtained for determining the velocity of the fluid and the amplitude of the change in the fluid pressure in any arbitrary section of the liquid column inside the tubing string, over which graphical dependencies are plotted in relative values for different pipe diameters. The results obtained make it possible to predict the reliability of the pipe string for pulsed non-stationary injection of liquid under pressure.

The article relates to the field of hydraulics and engineering hydrology and is devoted to a study of fluid flow in a non-flooded Venturi channel. The purpose of the work is improvement of methods for calculating profiles and hydraulic characteristics of a Venturi flumes used for measurement of water flow rates in open channels and rivers. Research methods are analytical with experimental verification. A functional relationship is obtained between the Froude number in an arbitrary section of the Venturi channel and its width normalized by the width of the critical section. It is established that within a rectilinear gorge portion of a Venturi channel, the flow is unstable, which is related to the proximity of its parameters to the critical ones. The method of optimization of a profile of a Venturi channel with a dividing cross-section in a gorge that does not contain empirical coefficients is considered. It is shown that the proposed method allows determining all main geometric parameters and hydraulic characteristics of the Venturi flume, including its flow rate coefficient, distribution of depths and flow velocities along the length of a flume with a relative error of ±1%.

Responding to complexity and particularity welding on the geometry of TKY tubular node, this paper constructs mathematical model of tubular joint weld of arbitrary section by simplifying the geometry structure, and draws welded joints and ultrasonic sound beam lines based on the actual specifications in order to solve the problems of low efficiency, positioning difficulty, missing inspection and etc. The computeraided simulation technology can realize the visualization in the beam coverage model of welded joints, which can commendably guide the design of ultrasonic phased array inspection and overcome the blindness of the instrument detection parameters, thus improving the effectiveness and pertinence of the actual detection. Study shows that it is beneficial to enhance the effectiveness of the detection tubular joint weld by employment of Visual beam and ultrasonic phased array technology.
