The paper is devoted to alien fish species that have appeared in coastal waters of the Black Sea near Crimea for the past 50 years. The fish fauna of the Black Sea mainly comprises species that represent the Ponto-Caspian and Atlantic-Mediterranean faunal complexes. According to the generalised literature data, 158 fish species of 107 genera of 60 families have been recorded in the Black Sea since the publication of K. F. Kessler’s work (Kessler 1877), all of them representing the Atlantic-Mediterranean complex. In waters of Crimea, 116 species of 86 genera of 51 families have been recorded for the same period. A full checklist of fishes of this complex is presented indicating 31 alien species that have appeared since the 1970s and which belong to 27 genera and 16 families. In waters of Crimea, alien fishes make up 26.5 % of all species, 31.0 % of all genera, and 31.4 % of all families of the Atlantic-Medirranean complex. According to the level of their occurrence in marine waters of Crimea, all recently introduced species are grouped into three categories: regular, sporadic, and casual. Their brief characterisics are given, including synonymy, representation in the fish collection of the NMNH NASU, brief description, distribution, and vector of introduction. It was found that benthic species predominate among introduced fishes that occur regularly in waters of Crimea (12 species, or 80.0 %), while bentho-pelagic and pelagic species are less represented (6.7 % and 13.3 %, respectively). Pelagic and bentho-pelagic species prevail (50.0 % and 37.5 %, respectively) among fishes that occur sporadically. Bentho-pelagic species predominate (57.1 %) among fishes that occur casually. It was discovered that among the 31 alien fishes recorded in the Black Sea waters of Crimea for the past 50 years predominate those that have appeared here due to the natural process of mediterranisation (22 species, 71.0 %). It was imposibble to determine the vector of introduction of 4 species (12.9 %). The appearance of 5 species, which represent 16.1 % of all alien species, is related to anthropogenic factors. It can be also concluded that benthic species predominate among the alien fishes (14 species, or 45.2 %), while bentho-pelagic (9 species) and pelagic (8 species) fishes make up 29.0 % and 25.8 %, respectively. Of the 31 introduced fishes, 10 (32.2 %) have naturalised and acclimatised in marine waters of Crimea and have founded independent breeding populations. Among them, representatives of the family Gobiidae notably prevail, followed by the taxonomically close family Oxudercidae, whereas one species belongs to the family Blenniidae. The so-iuy mullet, which is the only representative of the pelagic ecological group, was introduced intentionally.

The ichthyofaunal study is needed to reveal the diversity of fish, investigate the existence of native and introduced fish, inventory some species that are potential as consumed and ornamental fishes, and to be a part of the effort to find new species. This study aimed to determine the composition of freshwater fish in the Alas River around Soraya Research Station, Leuser Ecosystem Area, Subulussalam, Aceh. Research was conducted from July to September 2018. Fish sampling was carried out at six research stations using selective gill nets, throwing net, hook, tray net, and scoop net. A total of 339 individual’s fish belonging to 20 species, eight families and three orders was collected from sampling location. Cyprinidae was the predominant family found in the Alas River. As many of 16 fish species has the potential as consumption fish. Two introduced fishes were collected, namely tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Amazon sailfin catfish (Pterygoplichthys pardalis). One fish species is thought to have the potential as a new species, i.e. catfish (Hemibagrus sp.). The result of this study can be used as a basic data for policy decision making in order to develop management program of Leuser ecosystem in the future.

Abstract The freshwater anomuran crabs of the genus Aegla are widespread throughout lakes and rivers in central and southern Chile. They form an important component of the benthic fauna, because the species of the genus are shredders of organic debris and also make an important prey for native and introduced fishes. Nevertheless, the ecology of this genus has been poorly studied in lakes in comparison to rivers. The aim of the present study was a description of the spatial pattern of distribution of an Aegla rostrata population from the littoral zone of Pullinque Lake, in the north of Chilean Patagonia. The results revealed a low density (1.0 ± 0.8 ind/m2), that had a uniform pattern, and has a positive binomial distribution. The results would indicate that the studied species would have territorial behaviour that would be associated with interspecific resource competition. The observed results would agree with observations for the benthic zones in Chilean Patagonian lakes, where Aegla would show territorial behaviour.

The diversity of freshwater fishes which inhabit in the river of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta is not yet well documented. Complete documentation is needed as starting point and continuous research on the fish diversity in DIY. Boyong-Code River flows across the DIY, and it upstream is located on the hillside of Merapi volcano. The Code River upstream is called Boyong River. The research was aimed to acquire data about the diversity of fish fauna along the Boyong-Code River in the DIY. Further, the research purpose is to know which species are rare, potential for aquaculture, and introductive. Samples are taken along the Boyong-Code River starting from upstream to downstream. Samples were collected using Purposive Random Sampling methods with fishnets. Sampling area generally divided into three location i.e., upstream, middle-stream and downstream. Species diversity of fish in the Boyong-Code River is consisted of 24 species, with 5 introductive species. There are eleven native fish species which are potential for cultivation (aquaculture), i.e.: Barbodes binotatus, Mystacoleucus obtusirostris, Rasbora lateristriata, Rasbora argyrotaenia, Barbonymus balleroides, Osteochilus vittatus, Hampala macrolepidota, Anabas testudineus, Channa striata, Clarias leiacanthus and Clarias batrachus. The Boyong-Code River is a decent habitat for fishes. Many introduced fishes starting to invade the Boyong-Code River intentionally or unintentionally by human

An occurrence of the copepod Lamproglena monodi Capart, 1944, parasitizing freshwater fishes in Brazil is presented, along with new morphological data. This crustacean was originally described parasitizing several cichlids in Africa. In the present study, the crustaceans were collected from the body surface and gills of two fish species native to Brazil [Astronotus ocellatus (Agassiz, 1831) and Cichla ocellaris Bloch and Schneider, 1801] and two introduced species [Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758) and Tilapia rendalli (Boulenger, 1897)]. The Brazilian specimens exhibited some morphometric intraspecies differences in relation to the specimens from Congo-Kinshasa and Egypt.
