We undertook this study by planning the monitoring system. The monitoring system is divided into three parties: dental therapist, parent and children. Dental therapists and parents are collaborated to handle and educate children about proper tooth brushing. Second, is the analysis of the requirement. The analysis stage consists of application program content. The last is the prototyping stage. In the prototyping stage, the smart toothbrush TOMON and application SIMOGI were made. The results of the research are the smart toothbrush TOMON and SIMOGI application can be used for health promotion for the children.

ABSTRACTThere are thirteen kinds of health workers in Health Facility, and one of them is Dental Therapist which categorized as medical technician. The Law Number 39/2014 has changed the allocation of Dental Therapist from nursing group to medical technician group. But, their authority is the same with Dental Nurse. In the Minister of Health regulation Number 20/2016 about Licence and Practice of Dental Therapist, there is an authority to give limited medical service to the patient. The research’s approach was normative juridic by evaluating the laws with applicable laws and regulations. The result was there were three sources of Dental Therapist’s authorities which were Attribution, Delegation, and Mandate.

We investigated the success of paediatric dental treatment under inhalation sedation (IHS) with nitrous oxide completed by a dental therapist, as an alternative to general anaesthesia (GA) in secondary care. We found that 94% of had treatment successfully completed under IHS by a therapist. These patients were assessed as being suitable for IHS and were referred to the therapist via a new patient clinic. The success of therapists treating paediatric patients with IHS could help reduce pressure on GA waiting lists. As well as being a safer treatment option, this method allows effective conservative treatment to be completed and thereby reducing the number of extractions required, which is a major benefit to patients' future health and wellbeing. CPD/Clinical Relevance: This study shows the success of treatment under inhalation sedation by a dental therapist. Appropriate referral to therapists has the potential to reduce the need for procedures under general anaesthesia. This has the affect of reducing the strain on our general anaesthetic waiting lists, as well as having a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of our patients with IHS being considered the safer option.

Relevance. Many young patients suffer from dental abrasion combined with hyperesthesia of teeth. This pathology is to be treated complexly. The first stage of the treatment is aimed at decreasing the hypersensitivity. This problem is usually solved by dental therapist who can face a problem of a desensitizing agent selection. The objective was to evaluate the efficacy and convenience of using specific desensitizing agents at home in young patients with symptoms of hyperesthesia associated with generalized increased dental abrasion of the first degree of severity. Methods and materials. Patients suffering from generalized hyperesthesia caused by increased abrasion of hard tooth tissues have taken part in this research. The patients were treated with one of four selected desensitizing agents at home. The efficacy, financial side and the convenience of each product were evaluated by using the questionnaire. Also, the efficacy of the treatment was also evaluated clinically.Results. Clinical efficacy of the toothpaste containing arginine and gel with NaF (1.1 %) and gel based on nano-hydroxyapatite is approximately the same. The specific gel contained casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate is less effective.Conclusion. The gel based on the nano-hydroxyapatite is the most effective and convenient specialized product for the treatment of hyperesthesia in patients with increased dental abrasion.
