This work pertains to integration of supercapacitor energy storage system with wind-penetrated two-area power system. A small-sized SCES device is incorporated in automatic generation control of each area. For robust and optimum usage of SCES, a customized neuro-adaptive predictive control model is developed using level 1 S-function coding. This model feeds reference power command to the converter of storage system with its voltage used as feedback loop. A step load disturbance reflecting load outage is introduced back to back in the power system. It is seen through simulation studies carried out in MATLAB Simulink Environment that there is significant improvement in frequency response and tie power deviations. SCES converter power limits are fully maintained; besides, SCES voltage and power response is also depicted.

The synchronous condenser (SC) has a broad application prospect in ultra-high-voltage direct current (UHVDC) systems. The SC’s loss of excitation (LOE) is an important grid-related fault that may cause damage to the UHVDC. However, as the premise of the scientific protection configuration, knowledge of the SC’s LOE feature and its impact on UHVDC is still missing. This article first analyzes the SC’s LOE feature, offering a basic cognition of this fault. Secondly, the LOE SC’s reactive power response to system voltage variation is studied in the single-machine infinite-bus system. This lends a foundation for transient UHVDC research. Finally, the LOE SC’s impacts on steady and transient UHVDC are evaluated, respectively, considering different AC strengths and system faults through PSCAD/EMTDC (V4.6, Manitoba HVDC Research Center, Winnipeg, MB, Canada) simulations. The results show that: (1) LOE the SC absorbs reactive power while maintaining synchronous operation, its excitation current declines monotonically; (2) the LOE SC has an insignificant effect on steady-state UHVDC; (3) the LOE SC can restrain the overvoltage and benefit the rectifier’s transient stability; and (4) to reduce the inverter’s commutation failure, keeping LOE SC is more effective than separating it beforehand, while separating the LOE SC after the system voltage drop performs best. These conclusions could provide insights for the protection’s criterion and operation mode selections.

The creation of quality services will certainly create satisfaction against users of health care. This research aims to determine the quality of service to patient satisfaction in inpatient installations of General Hospital Massenrempulu using variable responsiveness. Types of quantitative descriptive research with analytical survey methods. Research informant of 94 respondents in the General Hospital Massenrempulu. For Analysis Data using univariate analysis, and for bivariate using Regeresi logistic test. The results of the research variable high responsiveness of 95.7% and the expressed low of 4.3%. From the results of the analysis of the responsiveness with high categories of 96.7% in response to the satisfied, and as many as 3.3% expressed a low satisfaction category. While as many as 4 respondents expressed a lowcategory responsiveness variable of 50.0% which expressed satisfaction in the high category and 50% stating the category of low satisfaction. Based on the test results statistic at the Get value P = 0.013 at α = 0.05. Because the value p (0.013) ≤ 0.05 which means there is a significant influence between the variable power response to patient satisfaction in the General Hospital Massenrempulu. It is recommended that the General Hospital to continue to improve knowledge, skills (skill), and attitude/behaviour (attitude) health officers in a planned manner. Then, the hospitals are expected to develop soft competency, eg: leadership and communication skills,

This paper determines the profitability of the primary frequency regulation (FR) service considering the wear of the electric vehicle (EV) battery as a cost. To evaluate the profitability of the FR service, the cost of degradation from FR provision is separated from the degradation caused by driving usage. During FR, the power response is proportional to the frequency deviation with full activation power of 9.2 kW, when deviations are larger than 100 mHz. The degradation due to FR is found to be an additional 1–2% to the 7–12% capacity reduction of a 40 kWh Lithium-ion NMC battery pack over 5 years. The overall economic framework is applied in Denmark, both DK1 and DK2, and Japan, by considering historical frequencies. The DK2 FR market framework is taken as reference also for the Japanese and the DK1 cases. Electricity prices and charger efficiency are the two main parameters that affect the profitability of the service. Indeed, with domestic prices there is no profitability, whereas with industrial prices, despite differences between the frequencies, the service is similarly profitable with approx. 3500€ for a five-year period.
