The study raises issues related to the use of translucent materials use for support elements. A review of the practice of using such materials in vertical and horizontal support structures has been carried out. The object of the study is buildings and structures constructed using translucent support structures. The subject of the research is the influence of translucent support structures on architectural forming. As a result of the study, a conclusion was made about a number of technologically determined hard restrictions that impose the use of such structures on the architect and at the same time their prospects for a number of typological groups of buildings.

Stressed ribbon pedestrian bridges are most graceful, efficient and economical strains of suspension bridges. However, these structures have a major disadvantage – very large horizontal support reactions, which result mainly to the construction cost. In order to discover new forms and to extend the limits of stressed ribbon bridges, in the end of twentieth century these constructions were started to combine with other bearing elements in cablestayed, underdeck cablestayed bridges and other structures. At the beginning of the twentyfirst century stressed ribbon supported on arch structure was discovered. The paper presents reviews of suspension supported on arch footbridges and classification. Considered the main geometrical design parameters and their interdependence. The paper presents a method of how to balance selfanchored suspension supported on arch bridge design computational scheme.

In this paper, a new micromechanical disc resonator with two L-shaped horizontal support beams in torsional mode vibrations has been proposed. The proposed micromechanical resonator has been studied in the field of natural frequencies and support loss. In order to verify the findings of natural frequencies, the analytical results are compared to the simulation results given by ANSYS software. A good agreement between analytical and simulation results is shown. In addition a closed-form equation for support loss quality factor in torsional mode vibrations of the proposed micromechanical resonator is presented. The results show that using L-shaped support beams can improve the support loss quality factor up to two times.

Support pressure obtained in tunnel is considered as stresses for applied support. Therefore, estimation of support pressure in tunnel is important task for tunnel support design. Several equations are proposed to estimate support pressures. In this study, Barton equation was used for estimation support pressures along the tunnel of Kulekhani III HEP. The calculated support pressures were highly dependent on Q value and joint characteristics. Vertical and horizontal support pressures in the Marble and Quartzite followed the pattern as followed by Q but for other rocks support pressures were not only dependent on Q but had high influence of the joint characteristics. Support pressures obtained from the equation can also be used to estimate support pressure to some extent but modification is necessary. The equations can be considered for obtaining maximum support pressures for support design.Journal of Institute of Science and TechnologyVolume 21, Issue 1, August 2016, page: 112-118

The aim of the study is to prevent the machine´s withdrawal from the technological trajec-tory in conditions of the slope agriculture. The object of study is the process of wheel tractor´s withdrawal of a given course in the mode of operation on sloping areas of the support surface. The results of theoretical studies of the power balance in the process of interaction between the tread elements with an inclined supporting surface are given. The functional relationship of pow-er given on the tractorexchange rate stability and configurational, geometric parameters of the tread´s working elements of the wheel mover.
