Agriculture is a critical sector in the Nigerian economy, contributing significantly to GDP as well as employment generation. Agricultural technology has evolved substantially over the last decade with significant advancements in farm management information systems (FMIS) as well as agricultural information systems (AIS). FMIS have evolved from addressing simple production tasks to handling complex across multifunctional sectors in farming enterprises. However, the adoption rates of FMIS have been low in Nigeria. In this chapter, the contemporary usage of farm management information systems in central Nigeria is examined, and the various constraints leading to the low adoption rates are explored. In this study, the factors impacting the FMIS adoption by rural farmers in central Nigeria were examined. The findings of this study indicated that some of the demographic factors were influencing the FMIS adoption by rural farmers in central Nigeria. The results of this study in this chapter should help policymakers in framing policies intended to improve FMIS adoption rates in Nigeria.

AbstractOne of the importance of the contamination uncertainty model is to consider in-determinism in the uncertainty. We consider this advanced property and develop two methods. These methods identify if there is imprecision in a given model or data. In the first approach, we build two different—a probability distribution and an interval—models for a test function f via given data/model. Then, we identify the level of imprecision by assessing, so-called model trust, $$\epsilon \in (0,1)$$ ϵ ∈ ( 0 , 1 ) in the contamination model whether the weight is higher for the probabilistic/interval model or not. In the second approach, we calculate the lowest and highest previsions for the test function and identify the imprecision interval out of them. We further discuss and show the idea via two simple production and clutch design problems to illustrate our novel results.

The home industry is a home business that produces various commodity products that are processed manually or using simple production machines. One of the home industry centers in Serang Regency is clay handicrafts that have been around for a long time, mostly women. During their development, they still experience many problems, especially in terms of production and marketing. Based on this, the authors researched to analyze the production and marketing aspects of clay crafts. The population and samples taken were fifteen people, they were clay craftsmenin Bumi Jaya Village, Serang Regency. This is done to find out the various aspects of production and marketing they have been doing related to the clay crafts they are doing. The sampling was carried out through direct observation with the clay crafts actors. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, production and marketing can still be done, and it is just that what needs special attention is that marketing must be further improved and expanded, which so far only relies on consumer visits to show rooms and waiting for special orders from consumers.
